Stylus RMX is still unique music production tool and it baffles me how Spectrasonics never went on to give it an updated version. It's soooo good and so creative and useful
I've used Stylus since it first came out, and I still use it. It's still got some mileage in the tank. I basically treat it like a vintage sampling drum machine; a virtual SP-1200 if you will.
The sounds in Stylus are so good that they can really work with anything. Maybe not as much for modern sounding bass stuff, but nothing loop importing can’t fix. For my style, it’s great.😊
The main problem with Stylus is that it was used as a rompler, without much delving into the manual, because of this, it became very recognizable from the first second, the same with Virtual Guitarist, Nexus, etc. Even in the early 10s, his presets can be heard in popular songs, especially in pop rock, or Christian rock, under which it was fashionable to edit weddings in those years, even in the Argentine Disney series Violetta you can hear these ready-made loops. In short, this is the hack of the arrangers. In fact, Stylus, like Omnisphere, includes almost all the libraries that were under Akai, made by the same person - Eric Persing. For Roland he sort of created the presets too, no wonder the V-Synth also has a similar style of grooves. Due to such people, other create music, but in fact with someone else's ingenious sound design
without being arrogant or pompous - eric persing simply singlehandedly INVENTED the whole thing to start with. and i dont mean stylus, i mean the whole genre. if not alone, but he was one of THE OGs and GOATs.
Thanks for making a modern video on this older product. Watching this as i consider purchasing. I would also speculate that they would update this product soon, as it is so old.
It sounds awesome as is good if you're not needing specific timing and stuff I find the time tab too inflexible and annoying tho. Its weird how some of these 20 year old drum vsts sound better than the current releases. The e-mu Emulator x vst sounds as good as anything and came from the same time.
If you use stylus as a creative tool. You probably wont feel so bad knowing that a piano is really old!!!!!!! 19 year old Stylus is actually a baby. Go create something!!!!!
Being old is not a criteria by which a plugin should be evaluated. Maybe you don't know how to use Stylus and I can confirm that from what you're showing in the video. Xo is not even comparable to Stylus in term of capabilities. Toontrack "Superior Drummer" that's a real drum machine. There you go with the old again.
Do you use Stylus? How'd you find it?
checking it out
I love using it for filler drums. It’s got a nice punchy fill.
still use it

The composer of Phineas and Ferb’s music actually used a Stylus RMX for the percussion.
old is gold

Who’s here from metros interview with producer grind 😂
I'm not going to pay $400 for software that hasnt been updated in over 10 years no matter how good it is.
fair play
I can’t argue with that.
In this case, its your loss.
np. metro just make some hits on this the same time you will crying about your 20 views

This thing is like a solid 9/10. I use the breakbeat sounds in like one out of every 3 of my songs
glad you like it
Great video! Thank you for putting this together
thanks

Probably the most underrated and prematurely outdated software ever. Just the samples alone are incredibly useful.
So true!
