I immediately went and purchased your pdf pattern Lori! I have been hoarding panels and have made a goal to make at least 4 of the 10 I have into quilts for Christmas. Your tutorial was perfect timing and will help me reach my goal. Until now I was stalled trying to decide what to do and not make it too complicated,yet still interesting.Perfect pattern!
Great idea for using up some leftover strips. Purchased the McCalls magazine over the weekend from B&N. Look forward to viewing the tutorial when I get to making the pattern.
To forgo disappointment, wash the panel with warm water an10 color catcher. Dry until slightly 100 damp and press it (no ironing) to make the panel square, including pulling square. Lightly spray with starch like Best Press and let dry. Why? Panels off the bolt are not square and your quilt will twirst at the borders. All this info is from Cyndi McChesney, panel expert. Look her up. I just took her class at the Houston Quilt Festival.

Can you suggest what I should do to make this a twin bed size quilt? I did purchase the pattern, love the way you've done this, just need it larger! Thanks so much!
Thank you, Janet, for purchasing the pdf! Once you have the panel quilt finished as indicated in the PDF, then I would add border strips to add both length and width to the pattern until the quilt is the size you need for the twin size bed. I’d probably start w/narrower borders & make them wider as you continue adding them. I hope this helps you!
