I think it’s time Disneyland in California closed Indiana Jones and works on a refurbishment for lighting and new effects. Seeing this version makes the Disneyland look waaaaay out dated in all aspects. Great Vid!

I just went to Disneyland in California and it’s a really good ride but the Tokyo one is like neon and super fancy. I wouldn’t mind the new effects but I think they are trying to keep it older looking and more fitting to the movie

This may be coming. There are stirrings that the Dinosaur ride in Florida will get a reskin as Indiana Jones. I would imagine the florida version would look pretty moden which may put preassure on disney to do some upgrades for the california version as well. *fingers crossed*

as cool as these effects are. There's something off putting about there being no music for long periods of time unlike the Disneyland one.

I'm pretty sure that they opted for more realism and went with a darker tone here, which is why they cut indie's extra lines. The cut music in the snake part until the dark tunnel seem to be to make the scenes feel more eerie. They also only play triumphant music in the ending. I agree they should try rearranging the audio for this ride though. It does sound a bit off.

I rode this in Tokyo and I must say it’s probably my favorite Disney ride. Since I’ve never been to Anaheim, I was wondering if they are comparable in quality. Video does not do this ride justice, same goes for journey to the center of the earth

I have the Anaheim ride memorized. Its hard to tell for sure, since this is a rider cam, but this looks nearly identical save for one added effect, a different lighting tone (this ride is blue), and a mild to moderate improvement in the set piece and animatronic detail. So basically its a mildy better version of the exact same ride.

@@xar3949 On the Disneyland one yes? When I rode the Tokyo one I thought the audio was broken because there was no music at certain points. I also appreciate that the DisneySea one doesn't have the random voice over when you get to the snake.

I think the music from anaheim doesn't really work in this version of the ride. I personally believe that they should make a new score/arrangement for this ride to fit the more eerie theming throughout. The silences do feel unnerving, but they don't really work too well. I do like the enhanced sound effects. Everything else about this ride is amazing and a lot better than california's, though. The lighting is much better in person than shown in the video. I've been on both versions and this version has darker lighting

No, the movie came before the ride. The movie came out in 1981, and the ride opened first in 1995.
