i think this is by far the most saddest scene in sailor moon! it makes me cry everytime! you really can feel the pain because we all have either been in usagi's place by missing someone or seiya's by not feeling like your good enough so touching!!!!

Seya should understand what it means when someone's heart already belongs to somebody else. Her pain is so real and the fact that she's been keeping it hidden all this time makes this even more heartbreaking. It is a bit selfish to think of himself at this moment and his desire to be wanted by her. But at the same time I do get it that when you're in love with someone you want so desperately to be the only one in their eyes...

i don't hate Seiya at all, but I'm a Mamo-chan stan and I have to disagree with people saying that she loves Usagi more than Mamoru does. Also, Seiya reacts badly in this scene. She should be focusing on how she can help Usagi, not asking if she's good enough. It's too bad, because this is otherwise a sweet and heartbreaking scene.
To be fair, Seiya's reaction is understandable. She's the same age as Usagi, and I sure as heck wouldn't have known what to say in this situation. From her point of view, Mamoru's been an absolute jerk of a boyfriend to Usagi, not even responding to her calls or letters. Also, I don't think Seiya's question was "Am I not good enough for you?" so much as it was "Isn't there some way I can fill his role by being here for you?" It wasn't an ideal reaction, but I have never doubted that Seiya deeply cares for and loves Usagi.

It's also sad that Mamoru got killed by Galaxia so that's why he never answered or called usagi back. And the worst part about it is that Usagi never knew until her battle with Galaxia. :(
Ok I'm a year late but I agree with you. Personally I deeply dislike seiya, yet I understand that he didn't know anything about mamoru. Still the way he acted through the season is so wrong. Even if he though mamo was a jerk he should still respect usagi's feelings and the fact she is in a relationship. Usagi kept rejecting seiya all the time. I will never understand how people can ship them because I never saw usagi falling in love with seiya. She was just depressed and seiya was just a friend to her.
Im starting to think luka was miraculous ladybugs way of replicating seiya with its own twist in story, instead of dying they just don't know who eachother are Ether way I with miraculous would become animated already so it can be this deep and emotional already

I can understand that many people prefer Seiya to Mamoru, but remember that Usagi and Mamoru were already together in past lives, and they kept reincarnating to make it right, although all the obstacles that tries to tear them apart, they truly love each other. I can understand Usagi at a 100 percent for that : don't leave someone you love for someone who is attracted by you. When you know what happened to Mamoru in that season, you can't judge Mamoru by putting him in competition with Seiya. If Mamory would still be alived in that moment of this season, for sure he would have come back to Usagi straight away when he would have heard about new enemies showing up.

You guys can disagree if you want but I honestly think seiya was in the wrong for asking something like that when you see her crying over someone she loves. She was also depressed in that time and yet he asks that? That's how I see it and I do think he is good enough but no one can replace Mamoru for me. And I can not go on without Chibiusa! This is my honest opinion on this and I think I took it maybe a little to far since it is just an anime but that's how I feel whenever I see this scene.
