One thing I rarely see highlighted in pellet grills is the burn pot. After having a cheap pellet grill and having to watch out for hopper fires, my next Pellet grill will have a vertical drop between the auger and the burn pot like Yoder, Memphis, or Coyote. Some brands do a decent job of mitigating hopper fires by drilling holes or increasing airflow in other ways, but it just seems like an overall flawed design for the auger to basically be in the burn pot.
I have a Gen 1 EX4 and the Stealth. The differences: Better wheels, thicker metal on the fire pot, added front heat shield, upgraded Crafted cooking grates, upgraded glow plug assembly, upgraded pellet hopper, added internal light, and handle cover.
Still not worth the $500 price difference in the MSRP between the standard and the stealth. Will wait for the searwood to become available in my region.
@@embersliving burn pot grate, finger guard, location of pellet sensor and casters are different as well. ;) Oh! the glow plug assembly has also been updated.
Had a stealth for a month, it had got crunched in shipping though. Functioned great, but opted to have it sent back (under the 100 day thing) and got the regular ex6. Did order the inner heat shield the stealth had and added it to this ex6. The light in the stealth turns black after several cooks, had no need for the crafted grates and i prefer the stainless shelf vs the black non stainless. The smoke output of the sf’s is undeniable. Either way, great smoker/cooker.
I've had the EX6 for over a year. I seen the Stealth was coming out and when I seen what the upgrades are, was not feeling the "dang, I wish I waited and got the new version" feeling I normally get when something is upgraded. I got mine with the discount Weber was giving last year so paid under $1000 it. The Stealth is like $400-500 more than I paid, the upgrades just don't seem like they would be worth that to me. Yeah, the light would be nice but I have a well lit patio it sits on. I could buy the new grates but I already bought a custom made top grate which is better than anything Weber is putting out. The upgraded wheels are nice and if I had to move it far to use, would really want them. I only move my grill like 6 feet on a flat surface from storage to cook area. I would like the new 1 piece pellet ramp and grate over said ramp. I took my finger guard out so I don't really have issues with bridging but I do not like that pellet dust gets under the ramp with the quick fix ramp they have on the older models. I love the blacked out look but again, is it worth the extra money? Naa, I'm not really a pimp my ride guy and am okay with the OG look. Guess what I'm saying is the new upgrades are nice, but they don't wow me or fix enough issues with the OG model. Nice grill though. Liked the comparison, Thanks!
It's the same grill just the "Stealth edition" so it makes sense the differences are minor and mainly cosmetic. If it was a different series all together (ex Traeger Pro vs Ironwood vs Timberline) then I would definitely expect larger differences in features. Good overview video though, thanks!
Love your videos, beautiful showroom, great presentation. I believe there are new additions to this model that need to be discussed. Would be great if you can do an additional video to highlight those changes. Keep up the excellent content!
so there is a slight redesign in the hopper, and by that I mean they removed the steeper slide retro fit piece that they added to the old model, and made it that way from scratch. So to me its not really an upgrade, or redesign, just doing it right this time from the start. And a grate on top to obstruct large objects.
@@embersliving the hopper was redesigned there is now an additional incline on the backside and also the pellet sensor has moved, from what I saw there is also a more robust burn pot and glow plug assembly also a front heat shield.

Are you positive the SmokeFire EX4 will not have a stealth model in the future? They appear to be selling them internationally. It seems more than a little odd a US company would exclude a single model from their nearest customers.
There is a significant difference in the hoppers! You totally missed that in your review. You need to do your research and update this video. You really blew it!

Again, you just have not done your research. The “grate on top to protect from large objects” is actually a replacement for the finger guard that sits above the auger. It protects people from putting their hands down near where the pellets go into the auger. Some said the finger guard prevented the pellets from flowing properly. Also, they lower the flavorizer bars so you can put those in those disposable metal trays with water in them. Finally, they also redesigned the grease trap to reduce fires. Those are three things you missed! I don’t even have a Weber Smokefire, I certainly don’t sell them, but I know more about them than you do? That should never happen! Check out those 3 items and update the video. You owe all of us an apology for a very incomplete review! @@embersliving

Can you drill a hole on the controller side for probe ports? They definitely forgot that...
I'm sure you could. When I get the chance ill take a look at our models for prble holes.
The handles should be "knurled" texture on both the stealth and standard product.
nice!
I wish they made it in the bronze color or maybe some of the special anniversary colors to really pimp out the backyard
that would be sweet

Yeah, it's more of a cosmetic upgrade .
This vid needs a redo based on the changes only
good idea
I thought they upgraded the pellet hopper?
they did
Higher capacity searing feature
nice
i only subscribed cause you be wearing Jordans ...
ha thanks!
Maybe stainless grates would of been nice.
