This is definitely a top 5 ghost song it has a pretty awesome dark feel to it
All the songs that had that feel were written by Martin Persner, that is why they sound amazing, that is why there has not been a sound like this since July 2016. I am all about only studio albums now, and maybe then there are a few songs each album that is ok. La Mantra Mori, and this song, Monstrance Clock, Year Zero, and a bunch of other ones Martin had a hand in. TF messed up. That is alright, he is paying by not winning Grammys, but getting nominated several times, there has not been a grammy since Meliora when Martin Persner was still in the band. I am sure it is a reminder that he chose fame, over quality, and fan expectations. The old fans, he does not give a fuck about anymore, he has started searching in the American bible belt for new fans, nascar, baseball, those are his fans now, rap fans. Tobias Forge, and Martin Persner were friends for decades, they were in metal bands, and alternative bands together, they have such a wide range of influences, yet Tobias Forge is peddling this butt rock weirdo stuff. Not like a Wasp, or Accept, or Saxon like good butt rock either, instead it is like Def Leppard type sound. The people buying his records also are either not paying attention to the artwork, or they don't get that they are being mocked. I think it is great that he mocks theists, but I also wouldn't take a dime from those people, it is lacking in musical integrity, and just dignity in general to take money from tweaker Q anon people, or other groups of people that he has been blatantly against for decades. I will always think he is a great singer, but he is not a good enough musician to do it all himself in the studio, which makes the hired help way too influential in the end result. I am glad that Fredrik Akesson was on Impera, but funny enough most fans either don't know who that is or think the touring "ghouls" are wearing their costumes in the studio recording all these songs, or they think that Tobias Forge is sitting in the studio recording everything himself, although that would be awesome, and more interesting, that is not the case. Martin Persner (Omega), and Simon Soderberg (Alpha) had a big hand in song writing on the first few albums, Simon even produced the first album. Just a bummer that we were kicked out of our little underground scene, and now people are using Ghost songs in dumb memes, it is a joke now, not a band. The lines between music and entertainment are so blurred, it is dizzying. Nothing beats Infestissumam though, such a great album from beginning to end. We still have Martin, in MCC, and he will never cower to the bible belt of America, just for more money.
@@vindsvalrpdx moronic comment of the year! pure jealousy
This is peak Ghost. One song that captures the entire Ghost sound within 6 minutes.
So Zenith is the Zenith of Ghost? :p
I second that;)
It’s a CRIME that this song isn’t on Spotify or Apple Music
REAL 😭✊🏻
It is now~
Guess whaaaat 🤗🤗🤗 finally it’s on both 😭
Merry Christmas from Ghost
i’ve been listening to ghost for over a year, and somehow i didn’t know this song exists?! Goddamn it’s so good
I believe there is copy right issues preventing it from coming out in majority of the world
@@vlAzrael I heard it was because it was a secret, exclusive track. What are the legal issues
@@gaminganimators7000martin persner (ex band member) wrote it, so it can't be released publicly like that + can't be played live because of the lawsuit
Their cover of Here Comes The Sun by the Beatles is bad ass too
This was played along with Life Eternal when my baby boy dog went to sleep after 15 years by my side. Right really turned to wrong. He was my life.
My deepest condolences on the loss of your faithful friend. 15 years is a long time, but it's never long enough. Sending hugs over the internet.
@@ZombVeeTess Thank you so much, you are very sweet ❤️ it has been hell, but one day at a time is the motto, and it's ok to be a crying mess off and on 😄 Thank you for your kind words, it means more than you know ❤️
@@Ullisen if this wasn't a huge public platform I'd give you my contact info in case you need someone to talk to. I'm still where you're at, and I lost my girl 3 years ago this December. I will always try to reach out to be there for others because I felt so alone when I lost my Bug.
@@ZombVeeTess Oh sweetie, I'm so sorry for you! I think one needs to have been a real dog mawm to understand how devastating it is losing "just a pet".. I really wish you all happiness, I did memorial tattoos, and I have his urn next to my bed, with his custom made collar and other things that are his. How are you handling your grief?❤️
@@Ullisen I actually have Bug's paw print over my heart. I got it a month to the day before I lost her. I have her urn/ashes in her plush dog house surrounded by all her toys, her food bowl, the pictures of her, her dozens of outfits, her collar and the dried flowers my best friend surprised me with. I also have 2 urn necklaces. One I never take off and the other one is in a Petsie plush. My husband surprised me with a plush of my girl with a compartment to put her ashes in. It's not the same as having my chubby, opinionated, shih tzu arguing with me for my food, but I can now hug something physical.
I've been looking for the initial "just found Ghost" goosebump endorphin release and this definitely delivered 🤘
Literally same AF. Just discovered them last week and can't stop listening. They're amazing.

I hope that if Ghost ever puts out a compilation album this song will be on it.
I hope they never do, apart from the live ones. They're more than good enough to make new content
Wish granted now buddy !
This aged like fine wine
My only complaint with this song is I want more of that piano melody. I lied, it's a perfect song.
Can you imagine if they'd have gone back to this sound for Impera?
Not gonna happen. Ghost is ever evolving their sound. Tobias Forge Saud so himself. No two Ghost albums will sound alike ever
Martin Persner wrote this song for ghost when he was still in the band, If you are a fan of MCC, you should easily be able to tell this is a Martin song and even hear him singing it almost
which parts was martin singing ?
sam khalifa he’s not singing in this song, I’m just saying it’s a melody that you could hear him singing. I can imagine him writing this song cause it’s his style, which he did write this song
Definitely sounds like turn and sway
@@EricJaegerMusic it has that magic of Martin all over! Very unique Ghost song, sounds a lot of MCC! My favorite song is Turn and I definitely can hear it here!
MCC? Master Chief Collection?
This song gives me ghostbumps everytime 👀👀👀👀
Awesome song
This should be in Meliora
Easily one of my favorite songs from Ghost
Amazing i can hear a lot of Blue Oyster Cult , influences , reminds me of Don't fear the reaper ...
They draw a ton of influence from that era of music. BOC and Rolling Stones is what Tobias Forge grew up on.
I really hope they release this again. I NEEEEEEED this song!
This is probably my all-time favorite Ghost song. I try my best not to wear it out, but I just cannot stop listening to it.
I love the Saecula Saeculorum moment🔥💜
REAL
A great song Im surprised its not on any of their albums
Bonus song off meliora
This is my favorite Ghost song.
..."For ever and ever"...
sounds like Subvision!! Martin was a freaking genious on Ghost.
Tobias was also in Subvision. Martin is credited as second writer on this one. The most similar sounding Ghost song was written solely by Tobias: th-cam.com/video/6FN6k8XtRpw/w-d-xo.html
Parts are reminiscent of his days with Magna Carta Cartel. Awesome sound. Awesome graphic.
Huh...Found ghost maybe two years ago and thought i listened to all they had to offer, Then this absolute banger shows up in my recommended and i've fallen in love all over again
Ghost also has the Beatles cover, Here comes the song (sounds awesome and is another secret jewel of ghost)
have you heard la mantra mori? its quite uncommon lol. theres also more covers you may not have heard of like: sympathy for the devil, here comes the sun, its a sin. i know theres more but thats all that comes to mind rn
@@shreddedtoaster La Mantra Mori is my favorite, any uncommon tracks that Martin had a hand in I like the most. The covers are ok, I think Roky Erickson I like best, or the Beatles cover. I was obsessed with Ghost before Omega left. I am into the music part of the band or was. I prefer the dark ambient, melodic hypnotic sound that Martin Persner's guitar tone offered. He is such a great songwriter, TF messed up. That is alright, every time he is nominated for a Grammy, but loses, I am sure he feels it. MCC is doing fine, and they don't need to appease the bible belt of America to sell records, shit they don't even have to play in America for their records to sell, and they have been selling here since before Ghost, when Tobias Forge was merely a bass player in MCC. I am happy for Martin, he is doing good, he does not need all the drama, and deceit.
@@vindsvalrpdx TF is a good lyricist you're just mad
@@ghostf1903 Good, you understand my words, I said exactly that, you are not really breaking through with this information about me. Fuck ya I am mad, I get mad everytime fucking theists and jock rockers hi-jack a metal scene, and pressure the singer to change everything good about the band. Duh, I never said I wasn't mad, or that he was not a good lyricist, that has no relation to musical integrity, something he lost all of.
We need this song live
Agreed
No same without Martin Persner
Wish they'd play this live
They just keep getting better.
Putting it on repeat now
This is one of ghosts songs that had to grow on me, but after the first taste I was inoculated
Man I need this song in my car all the time.

Grip Thumb it’s their best song
A lot of people dont know it exists because its a "throw away" song. Its only available on a certain vinyl size and album.. I think its the 13" Meliora vinyl but im not 100% sure. They never perform it live or anything. Its simply a hidden track like "Blood" from MCR
Alex Jenkins woah, someone who listens to Ghost and My Chemical Romance?? thought i was the only one tbh :D
@@cas6174 nah many people do
Gotta love the parodied Evangelion cover art
It's actually inspired from Rosemary's Baby
This song should be in the album
Well, the album was about how to live without a god. THis song however, looks to me like its a crossing to the medievals, like to the next album. So maybe you are right. But this would mean we crossed our zenith. Lets hope we did not.

Jelen :D!
Az Opus Eponymous óta ;) (A Prequelle-t inkább elengedtem)
I have a theory about this song, I think the reason why it doesn't appear on Meliora or the Deluxe edition except for a few copies is because I think Martin Persner wrote it. It sound alot like MCC's music regarding the tone and how the guitar parts were written. I think when Persner left the band it was in part out of frustration that Tobias wouldn't allow the other members of the band to write the songs. The musicians that were in ghost were also in a few other bands, Ghost is Tobias Forges' band, so got to make the decisions.
@@caeluus I would think so, Ghost broke up at the end of Melioras' tour cycle, new members were hired to preform Prequelle on stage, but the musicians on stage are not the musicians that you hear recorded on the album. Actually almost none of what you hear from Infestesemaum (2013) to Seven Inches of Satanic Panic (2019) are the musicians that preform live. Forge writes the songs and then hires people to play them, he hires people to play the songs live, so most of the material from their older albums that had influence from the original members doesn't get played live anymore.
it’s kinda sad because have a mix of ideas does help create better things.

Stunning track.
Bruh the shopping cart on the cover art
It's a reference to the horror movie Rosemary's Baby, which she gave birth to the Anti-Christ. In Ghost's version, the shopping cart, which is a symbol of capitalism, means that the "Anti-Christ" we gave birth is capitalism itself.
This sounds like something off a Castlevania game.
Nope stop comparing stuff to other things
@@edsan8564 No
A lot of their songs do -_-
The Ghost Fan/Hater dynamic is kind of based over whether you hear Castlevania in their music or Scooby Doo. 😂
In fairness I also hear the Scooby Doo, but it makes me like it more.
This song was included (I think) in Meliora, but only in it's japanese version because there is necessary to have a bonus track or something like that to commercialize the album
This was not on the Japanese version. It was on the limited edition LP and Meliora Redux.
The reason Japanese releases have extra tracks has to do with the huge difference in price between the US/Euro presses and the Japanese pressings. The Japanese versions are much nicer and have lots of extra artwork. The quality is much higher than their US/Euro releases. You can get the Japanese version of a CD for around $25 or the import version for $15 in Japan. How do you get people to buy the better quality Japanese pressings? Put a couple extra songs on the album that you can't get anywhere. Before TH-cam, good luck hearing one of those bonus tracks. Ghost released Opus and Infestissumam in Japan with bonus tracks and I purchased them at Tower Records in Tokyo. I saw Meliora and Prequelle and they had nothing extra.
Ghosts version of here comes the sun was on its japanese album release
Thanks for this, bro !
I really love this song. It is so filled with metaphores and has a mystical touch to it. Then the chorus seems something taken out of the bibble or perhaps a prohibited, darker book that can predict the fall of a "ruler".
Even though I love the whole song. I really like the part that says "Devoured by shadow. We cling to the light" I love it!
Sometimes we try to make out the meaning of a song and perhaps they may not have a meaning defined, for example. Kurt Cobain wrote many of his songs in the last minute before the show.
What I love about this kind of music is that despite the meaning (or lack of it in some rare cases) they make you feel something.
And that, dear friends is the goal of every artist. Making the observer, listener or reader feel.
Ps: Somehow the piano reminds me to Undertale.
my favorite part is when he sings saecula saeculorum
To M. Bugner LMFAO about yer VCR comment ! Noticed it at least a month ago, but just now really paid attention - f***ing hysterical
WHY DID THIS NOT GET ON THE ALBUM?!
They launched this song on the Meliora Redux version only... sadly.
A lot of Blue Oyster Cult going on here....!!! And I love it..!! ❤🤘
This is Ghost
How did this not make it on Meliora?
if only did.. :( This song is such a banger
It was only available on the limited redux version of Meliora
I wish it were available on Spotify, no clue why it's not
it doesn't fit
@@TheMrDizzie it was first only available on a 10" vinyl record in the Meliora boxset. Then next was on a sampler for the German VISIONS Magazine that no one knew about. All of that before the Redux was released. Then late last year it was found out that there was actually a SUPER rare promo CD single that was basically the same as the 10" vinyl (Zenith & Cirice Radio Edit). :)

Outside of the chorus line parts, anyone else a Blue Oyster Cult vibe to this song?
Sha K. Listen to all their songs its the same way
Eric Freeman The same way as in how? By notes? Style? Vibes?
The verse guitar part sounds a bit like "Don't Fear the Reaper". But I've always thought that Ghost often has a Buck Dharma/BOC sound, vocals and all. Nothing wrong with that!
@tom karasu Lol, time to check the old tour schedules ;)
I think people who aren't very familiar with BOC's output tend to totally dismiss the notion of any such influence. BOC's many contributions to the genre are pretty much ignored anyway at this point in time. But, even beyond the singing, keyboards, etc, I see an influence...for example, "Seven Screaming Diz-busters" (1973) reminds the listener that Lucifer was "the Light". Pearlman's lyrics and Bloom's vocals, but still very Ghost-ish in my opinion.
Exactly what I thought 😍
im mad cause the song isn't on apple music 😭😭😭
same! I want it to so bad!
Someone said there is a way to set up your itunes account for the swedish region and then you can buy it off swedish iTunes because it's only available in Sweden
The art reminds me of the Rosemary's baby poster. Is it a parody of it, like other cover arts are?
Yes it is
I am dancing with the darkness
Blue Oyster Cult vibes
Why is there a shopping cart
I'm getting a neon genisis vibe from this image.
Cant find this song on Spotify
Because it's not on there. It's a "throw away" song so it was never on a CD, only a vinyl. TH-cam is the only platform I know of that has it.

@@Vilmosh99 Such a shame. This has become one of my very favorite Ghost tracks. I'd love to hear a live version. Maybe Tobias and Martin can make amends and play together again.
@@troybailey9866 I don't think that's the case. He could play Zenith live without his permission, because Year Zero was also written by Omega and Ghost plays it all the time. Devoured by shadows
We cling to the light
Deluded by wisdom

Now and for always
A perpetual rise
A fall of illusion
Your zenith fades into eternity
Time will soon be gone
Night will turn to dawn
