That was really good! I've never seen the high hat on the right, but that's the great thing about drums, you can put things anywhere and play away. Nice job. That's one of my favorite songs, from Genesis AND Disturbed.
The additional Hi-Hat on the right, aka auxilliary Hi-Hat or X-Hat is actually pretty common in double bass setups, this easily allows you to play double bass figures along with a closed/half open Hi-Hat and you don't have to struggle with a drop clutch 😅
i was about to do a drum cover of LoC till i found this, you owned it, amazing work, my gear is not up to the task to compete against this bro, love your vid.
This is how drums should sound on every album, too bad almost everyone seems to love the over compressed porridge sound nowadays. Just go listen to the new Nightwish album and you'll hear what I mean.
+Galehus Thanks for the compliment! Drums have been a huge passion of mine for years and I really try to get the best sounds for the song I can get. Now I hate to shake your world up, but what you are hearing on the new Nightwish album is not over-compression. It really is just poor choice in drum tuning and/or bad drum sample choices. If I really wanted to reach I may even say the physical drums may be MiDi from a program with maybe even real cymbals (like Trans Siberian Orchestra). Over compression would make small little nuances really noticeable, like ring in the snare, no attack all sustain, you would even hear the over-tones in the toms, and cymbals would ring a LOT longer then what you hear. I hope this helps, and again thanks for the comment!
Great drum cover! I love this Disturbed's version. Did you use drumless version? Because I've tried to find it but I was not successful. Could you advise me, please? Thanks !!!
Awesome cover! Nice mic setup. Using triggers on the bass? Been meaning to figure out that bass part during the verses. I don't know why I have such a hard time with that beat. :)
Thanks :D Well yes and no. Like DDrum triggers and a DM5 no, I have a program that i use the reads the hits of one the kick mics. But to be honest most of our kick drums are 50-60% the actual drum and the sample is reinforcement.
As so many others have said, great cover of a great cover. Am I right in saying you favour your right foot more when playing the main double kick parts? I get the impression your not dividing the beats up equally as I've heard others do. Reason I ask is I'm in the process of learning this song for a live gig and my right foot is definitely the stronger of the two and will be doing most of the work.
What type drumsticks are those and what are they made out of? I think this is the first time I ever see what seem to be plastic drumsticks. Also what size cuz I usually use wooden Vic Firth 7A sized drumsticks cuz I love flaring and 7A are a lot me aerodynamic and lighter than your average 5A sized drumsticks.
There not plastic. Check them out: zildjian.com/sticks/artist-series/ronald-bruner-jr-artist-series-drumstick This is what I use 98.5% of the time in my covers. :)

Thanks for answering. It will be hard for me to copied it on this way but I believe that I'll give it up once!!! I've only ten :)))
Круто, обожаю их песни. Я б тоже хотел-бы так научиться играть)
Cool, I love their songs. I'd also like to learn to play)
cool setup man! you've gotta like drums! How'd you tune them? They sound great
Awesome cover! Nice mic setup. Using triggers on the bass? Been meaning to figure out that bass part during the verses. I don't know why I have such a hard time with that beat. :)
Thanks Joe! No Triggers, Riggs uses the real kick drum and some Post samples. Slow it down, and take it in baby steps!
Thanks :D Well yes and no. Like DDrum triggers and a DM5 no, I have a program that i use the reads the hits of one the kick mics. But to be honest most of our kick drums are 50-60% the actual drum and the sample is reinforcement.

What software do you use to record/mix, both audio and video?
Audio is through done through Pro Tools HD. Video is done through Premier Pro & Davinci resolve

That would be Riggs' DW 7x14 Mahogany snare. That snare is a beast!!!
