I still have this beast. I updated the memory and cleaned out the fan, updated to windows 10 and it's a monster, just absolutely a beast, in a good way. I love having all the ports and drives, the camera, the disc reader. I have a stream and it's nice but I love this one over the brand new one
I have the same HP Pavillion DV2000 laptop with 32bit 3gs ram and after 3 years the wireless disappeared, after that the sound disappeared, then the power button started to act up. after pushing the button 50 to 150 times it might turn on if it feels like it.

I'm still using it by upgrading to windows 7 ultimate . But it's battery life is for 30 - 40 seconds ,,😅 But due to chrome browser it feels not that old But the best thing of our laptops is it's display It's old but excellent compared to laps which are 4 to 5 year old and in this price.
Just a question, which processor exactly do you have? I'm asking cuz I have a dv2000 (dv2125la) as well, and I'm planning to open it and put a T7600 Core 2 Duo. BTW, this model doesn't have nvidia graphic card, so you have better nubmbers on graphics. Despite that, this one scores 4.6 in RAM and 7.2 on HDD.
Still using upgrading ram from 1gb to 4gb.new charging adapter and compatible battery which give batter y backup 2hrs30min. mine don't have graphics card but have remote and biometric
I used to have this computer years ago.. I hated the thing because of gaming.. couldn't even run Roblox. But I gotta give kudos to it because it let me watch TH-cam and browse for 3 years until I got a Satellite in 2012 and a X360 13" in 2014 which I still have.

Hi guys, I have the same model HP Pavillion DV 2000 purchased in 2006 (2GB RAM). My laptop hard disk has failed but the laptop speakers are amazing. Could anyone please tell me if its worth to updrade to 4 GB RAM and 256 GB SSD? Will the speed gets increased after this upgrade ?
I've just been gifted a DV2000, and I've gotta add that this is NOT light. It is quite a bit heavier than my old(er) XPS-M1210 - but hey, the DV2000 does have a bigger 'footprint', although the max screen resolutions are the same.

I dunno why U did this, but don't go back to Vista. This laptop can use Win 7 pretty well. No drivers missing or anything. Mine is dv2125la About Vista, as some else said, try a USB bootable or the DVD If you can't install it, the only reason I can think about is that you need to format your HDD again. But you shouldn't really have any problem, either by USB or DVD/CD

Pato Ducky Ya la arregle pero no estoy seguro que tiene se apaga de la nada ya comprobé la ram Disco duro Instalación nueva Cambio de pasta térmica (de 80 grados a 55) cpu al 100% y aún así se cuelga
I have this laptop, came with XP Home, added XP Pro, Changed HDD to 1 TB, partitioned, cloned my XP Home, added Vista, replaced that with Win 7 and added another partition for win 10, Have since removed that HDD, still intact, Replaced with 250GB SSD and installed Zorin OS 16 Core, Didn't pick up the internal wifi but added a wifi small key and works well, It has 2GB Memory, new battery which runs for approx 1.5 to 2 hours only. Well it is 16 years old machine. But great for Office stuff and web browsing. keeps landfills a little emptier and is still nice to use and built like a Tank. Still looks Great.

Yes! I have GTA 5 online (I bought everything and it's 93 gigs so I saved it to a external memory drive)

I have the same laptop it is so good i upgraded to 4gb ram ddr3 (i threw out the 2 gb ddr2 ram which was 2 slots of 1gb each one)

Download Windows vista from google and installed it via bootable USB :) hope full this help you out :)
