Hi, I too am having the same issue, except my fan isn't constantly running. I took your advice & splashed out on a dpf cleaner & the streetwise obd2 reader from Euro Car Parts £19.99 That cleared the engine fault light but it was back on within 2 minutes, i continued on the motorway, in 3rd gear for about 20 miles but the engine light stayed on. I cleared the light again and it was back on within a couple of minutes, so back on the motorway for another 20 miles, i cleared the code again & the light stayed off for the remainder of my trip home (approx 5 miles) Now there is no Acrid smell from the exhaust emissions. i too had a full tank, so maybe thats why it took longer to clear. i have a 308 hdi 2011 only 55000 miles work is less than 1 mile from my house, so loads of short trips, I should walk really but the weather in North Wales is rather wet lol....
The point of my comment to you was to thank you for the great video, you could've saved me lots of cash replacing the dpf filter. How's your car now, has the fault stayed away?

Hi Ian, such a nice comment thank you!
I've not had a problem with mine since, at the time the fan stayed on for 20 mins or so and I'm since told it does this to cool the dpf as its trying to regeneration.
So far touch wood I've not had this problem since and now make a point to run her up an A road for a few miles. I was quoted £250 to "fix" my car and I did it for 50.00 lol
As long as we give them a good run maybe once a week or 2 weeks the problem shouldn't come back. If you ever do a short journey and get out the car and the fans on it was doing a re gen so that's when it wants a long run for at least 30 mins just to clear out the crap. Stay in touch let me know how you get on mate

I think with any diesel it should be ok. The trick is to use dpf cleaner before it blocks.

My 1.3 Fiat Doblo did the Same Randomly went into limp Mode and EML on the Dash due to blocked DPF, Took it to the Garage and they did a Forced Regen and put DPF Cleaner through, Deleted the code and I though jackpot it's gone off, 3 Weeks later and £80 lighter the Van is back in Limp Mode 😪

Have you put a clean in the tank yourself? The dpf is huge on my 308 and the clean they do if done on the same day mite not fully clean it. I've seen videos of ppl soaking them overnight and using a jet wash on them to clean it out

F88K Mee mate!! I have the EXACT same problem. Can I ask you, is that code reader 'user friendly'? I've tried cleaning my DPF with a similar solution but the fan still goes like billyo! But after watching your clip? it could be that I need to buy a of those gizmo's and do the same as you. Let me know if you get time and thanks for putting this clip up. Cheers

Hi mate, it's not a bad bit of kit to be honest, it cleared the code and got her out of limp mode. NOW.... since I've had the additive tank refilled and I kept getting the notifications that the filter was filled. I brought TRIPLE QX High Performance DPF Power Clean 375ml
Only need a little bit and it seems to of done the job. I'm no mechanic but using that and giving her a real good run would be my.first port of call. I got no issues after using it. I've just got rid of this car and got a puma. I've seen people take off the dpf off and cleaned it out themselves. Let me know how you get on

@@lifeofmichael if the tanks been filled you need to reset the fluid level and do adaptions and then check differential pressure sensor if its low eg 2 or 3mb its ok but basically the higher the millibar reading there's a blockage, peugeot 1.6 engines there's a box with 2 rubber pipes(remove 1 at a time and check for blockages) these pipes are pressure sensor for dpf upper and lower sensor, remove top hose from dpf and fill with dpf cleaner then start the car and force a regen if needed

Hi I've got exactly the same problem with my pergeot 308 but the battery has gone flat with the fan being on will it be safe to start it with jump leads then take it for a drive to clear it out once I get the engine light to go off

    • @lifeofmichael
      @lifeofmichael  2 ปีที่แล้ว

Hey, yeah it should be more than fine. Get her started up and running even in limp mode, then get the codes clear. That will take her out of limp mode. Get a dpf cleaner as she will be blocked and give her a good run. Keep the revs over 2000rpm and when she's warm it will force a regeneration. I'm not a expert at all but I'm talking from experience. I have had to change my battery since but I'd give yrs a jump, get her running and clear the codes like I did with mine in the video x
Let me know how you get on

My 308 is exactly the same. I'm having to remove the positive connection on the battery every time I stop, otherwise the battery is dead when I get back. I've tried a cleaner but to no joy and have even bought a different cleaner again to try. But I've learned from this bloke about having to clear the code with that gizmo. My plan now, is to buy 1,and try again. If that fails? I think my filter will need to come off and give a damn good seeing to,(lol).

It turned out a bag of liquid in the dpf had run out. After I had it fixed I gave it a long run to London and back and no issues. I then sold the car and I've seen it a few times driving around so she's still going strong

Pressure gauge is running into red for about 10 secs getting stop warning and after 10 secs returns to normal does this every 15 mins or when I hit 60 mph. The speedometer on LCD is alot slower than that of the odometer speed too. Some kinda electrical fault maybe need new ecu or bsi.. You wouldn't have any idea about it atall would ya..
