I do like the fact they add actual hammer sound effects on this track. Really drives it home with his namesake. Kicking his ass while listening to this was very satisfying.
@joshuataylor7443 Well this version of hammerhead is actually a mobster in the 1930s, In the comics hammerhead is just a modern guy with memory loss who thought he was a mobster.
Hammerhead was my favorite Noir Boss, Hammerhead is already one of my favorite underrated Spidey Villains. And seeing John DiMaggio return to playing Hammerhead after voicing him in Spectacular Spider-Man was one of my favorite things, and the Level was fun too, with you having to walk with Hammerhead while taking his guys out in the shadows, oh, and the boss fight with him...Turning his arms into guns was genius.
The scp's Yup Hammerhead was in Spider-Man 2: Enter Electro but it never came out on N64 as it was a PS1 exclusive. Hammerhead was also a boss in Spider-Man: Mysterio's Menace for the Gameboy Advance and the Spider-Man game based on the 1994 animated series for the Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis.
I have to say, as generic as the ost in this game typically is, this is the one theme that's always stuck with me. From the percussion being made up of trains rushing past and hammers slamming into nails, conjuring images of an angry and resentful working class post-depression, and the interludes of calming jazz, it does a great job portraying the era. I wish the rest of the soundtrack was this creative.
Game had an unusually "epic" sounding ost for a Spider-Man game, yet a lot of them fit the dimensions and the villains to a degree. A lot of them are also hit or miss, but Noir definitely has the best soundtrack of the 4.
