Silence doesn't always mean you have nothing to say . It may mean you realize that words aren't always necessary.🌺🌿

God gave us one mouth and two ears. So speak half as much as you listen. God spoke very little to mankind throughout its history. But when He did speak, it was significant and important. So be like God, let your words be few and turn down the flow. For a person who cannot control their tongue, cannot control anything else about themselves. Speaking too much fosters sin.

Perhaps the only symbol of Buddhist art is the noble, speechless silence of the Buddha sitting with his hand holding a lotus bud and smiling.

Hey! I have a question for you. Should I stay silent in this situation?
So I have a friend with a guy who lives in Ethiopia. Our family are also friends with each other. We bonded over deep conversations and stayed in touch for a few years as friends. At that time he had a girlfriend, so we always had a boundary. Recently, him and his mother seemed interested in us taking our friendship to another level, he started talking to me more, sent heart eye emoji’s to my story, and was sending funny posts to engage us in more conversations. He was even talking about coming to live in the USA. Everything was good and I seriously thought he separated from his girlfriend because one, he changed his profile pic and two, his mom was and his whole family was talking about us when I went back home. Also, we never sent heart eye emojis to each other’s stories. So I assumed he liked me more than a friend.
Everything was okay until the summer. He slowly stopped being responsive. Eventually he started going ghost. He was talking about calling and then he just disappeared. So I stayed silent and waited. I realized something was off. From August to October he never replied back… To my surprise, one day I happened to be on social media and I saw him post a picture of the girl I thought was his ex on social media, leaving me confused about his intentions & everything. I felt maybe he was ghosting me all this time to fix his relationship with her. Idk? I didn’t say anything. That same day, I asked him a question for my research, he said he’d love to call and help, but he never got back to that either. This pattern confused me and I felt hurt, but I didn’t say anything.
A few months later during Christmas, out of nowhere he messaged me saying Merry Christmas and I was shocked because I thought he didn’t want to talk. However, I just said Merry Christmas to you too and he said to us all and looked like he was interested in talking more, but I didn’t say anything back because I was trying to process if I should tell him what I feel. Now I’m debating if I should express my feelings regarding this confusing situation? Or continue to stay silent and give him the silent treatment? He’s a family friend though so I know I’ll see him again. I’m close with his siblings, so I want to straighten things up, but from your perspective, is it good if I tell him about the whole situation and explain how I thought he liked me and everything and why it hurt when he disappeared? Or, just talk about how his pattern of communication has confused and hurt me as a friend? At this moment is it good to express all my feelings or just approach it as a friend who wants to fix the friendship? At the end of the day, I just want to maintain a good friendship. And I felt like maybe he didn’t say anything to me because he doesn’t know how to tell me or maybe he thinks he’d hurt my feelings idk but I want to tell him that he should have communicated in a better way. Truthfully, I want closure, and an apology, and respect moving forward! Does that seem possible? What do you think I should do?
      Thank you for your time🙏🏽💛

Buddha said these 3 things must all be present before saying something:
    1. It is the truth
    2. It benefits the listener
    3. It is the appropriate time to say it

  • @bmr7638

Not necessarily at all. It depends upon case to case basis. It doesn't apply to all. Some people love useful talking a lot and still enjoy life, stay very healthy and wise. Others do benefit from the experience of the speaker and put it into practice.

Take note of one thing that you would be criticized if you say 1+1 equals 2.1. So it's up to you if you want to be criticized or answer like 1+1 equals 2.0.

This golden video is not trying to imply to be silent every time, in every situation, it is just to speak only when necessary, in case of deaf people, can we reframe the scenario to positivity and say they have a golden boon of staying in solitude without all the noise from this world?
