Hi There, mine doesnt want to open at all, its stuck closed, when trying to open, it moves like an inch, then nothing further... any assitance on that please? 😇
hello bud, my technician have done what you suggested long time ago, it was fine and smooth slide till sometimes. But now when it slides both the shade and glass get stuck in the middle, the motor works only for around 1-2 seconds, so i need to push the bottom couple of times to close/open it totally. Could you please tell what’s the problem? thanks from Indonesia 🇮🇩😎✊🏼
So can i manual not with motor to open and close my sun roof cover not the window but a things under the window the thing save me from sun . Is there any way i can do it by myself because there is something bug and didnt work
If you mean the sunshade, ive not seen any good videos on this. I thought about making one soon, but not sure if i'll have time before i sell mine. I have found this info, in case it might help you: "There's no need to remove the entire sunroof assembly/headliner. However you must remove the 2 glass panels. 1) Remove front+rear glass. Remove the water drain channel. 2) If vent mode operates, put the roof into vent mode. If vent mode on the sunshade does not operate, splitting the panels will be tricky and may require a complete drop+replacement. Undo the 3 torx screws for front sunshade. Close vent mode and move the headliners back enough for clearance to remove front sunshade. Remove the vent mode mesh grille. 3) Undo rear shade screws, remove the springs under the black railing. Remove the rear shade. 4) Install in reverse order. 5) MANUALLY CRANK the sunshade, for this you must slightly drop headliner in rear to see the sunshade motor. Remove D pillar trim for this. Do the entire cranking twice to check for resistance. Finally crank shut. 6) Now you MUST re-initialize the entire roof, if you do not, then you will break the plastic (I made this mistake), and will have to drop the frame to replace them. Press and hold the sunroof button (see a youtube re-initialize bmw x3 sunroof video), and let the roof go through all the motions." found on www.bimmerfest.com/ good luck.
You might have to use the manual crank for that. I saw another vid and his was stuck, and actually had to use a screwdriver to get it started back. Wish i could be of better help. good luck.
Hi my issue is the sun shade, it’s stuck in open position and the sun roof doesn’t work, front part just tilts up but nothing else. I can hear a click, but nothing happens. I’ve tried resetting it many times but nothing happens. Any help would be appreciated thanks

I have been able to manually open the moonroof completely using the Allen key and then I’ve tried to initialise the sunroof using diagnostic + your method but it doesn’t work. Once opened manually it will close when initialising but won’t open again. On diagnostics it says ‘drive for sunshade’ which probable relates to the jammed sunshade. Is there a way I can manually bring forward the sunshade which is stuck is open position.
@@Sonic00a if you can reach it with a pair of vice grips, or needle nose, try pulling it manually forward while operating the button. you might need two people to do it for simplicity. Everything i can find is that the passenger side gear mechanism is notorious for going bad and getting off track. Sorry i can't be of more help. Good luck. Take care, be well.

my sunshade was manual open and close. When it came off track, i had to use force to pull it forward (closed) then reset it on the track. if you have an automatic one i'm not sure how to help with that. sorry.

Do you reuse the metal thing and the plastic bit you took of? Or just trow it in the garbage?

how do I fix if my sunshade is stuck open
my sunshade was manual open and close. When it came off track, i had to use force to pull it forward (closed) then reset it on the track. if you have an automatic one i'm not sure how to help with that. sorry.
