This makes an awful lot of sense to me. James stick with liam he knows his stuff. I was in the golf business for 50+ years as a Golf Pro, a failed player, teacher, course owner, so for any young aspiring player out there take note --- THIS IS GOLD.--- Well done James for putting it out there,Especially well done to you Liam for sharing it . Loved It.
I find it interesting that you guys are talking about swing, as so many other "coaches" do, when most golfers have swing issues caused by poor address fundamentals, most importantly alignment.
The explanation at 10.50 is what Mac O Grady explained in many of his video's. The club moves outwards about 10 inches in first part of downswing then more vertically natural hinging downwards. Rather like Pete Cowan's explanation of what Seve said ' move it into a position where a natural force can help you '
Funny, I only used to film myself onlydown the line. My swing looked beautiful, but I kept topping it or taking a lot of turf. Turns out I was flipping it more than a circus acrobat. In the process of changing that now but it's a struggle.
this is true to an extent i think the problem is with most golf coaches and the golf swing in general is that its so confusing to a bloke who works a 9-5 and plays once every weekend if they go get a lesson and your talking about high level stuff they arent gonna understand it at all its like trying to explain high level maths to a primary school kid its just not gonna apply to them at all now this is where if you truly want to improve you have to almost learn a bit yourself and understand why things happen ive gone from a 20+ handicap to a 6 handicap in 2 years my swing has changed ALOT and by this point ive done so much research and experimentation to learn what i now know and it hasnt been easy and i think thats just how it is so most golf coaches dumb it down as much as possible and will give people some information but does it apply to them probably not there issues are probably way more complicated then they could ever imagine and thats why I think golf coaches also get alot of hate people will have 6 lessons and not improve because the coach either told them some iceberg level information about grip and setup and basic swing plane concepts and then the player will be like ah ha ive got it all figured out now and thats not how it works and it will never work like that not to mention its like 30 minute hour lessons which is not alot of time so its easier for a coach to say x information thanks for the money and then do the same to lots of different clients and if they buy another lesson or pay for a bundle they will say a bit more but thats not so much the case because then most people will know how the golf club is properly swung and how the body moves etc at the end of the day this game is so hard and most people dont think that then the best coaches out of all of them are the ones that can dumb it down but also make progress with there clients but thats so rare to find now days (or you could become your own coach but thats alot of work and its not easy)
Great video I've been doing the towel drill wrong as well letting my hands drop down, at least I can correct it now explains why I'm hitting the so high and can't flight it cheers
More down the line vids. One reason is very difficult to film face on at a driving range. Sky show more down the line drives since the advent of "shot tracer" which adds to the viewing experience.

Great video, I’m very guilty of only looking at down the line and this what I’ve always been coached.

Good luck 👊
Love this content, refreshing insights - unlike the bs most golf influencers vomit. Keep it coming !!
Vivian Saunders put it simply return club from top of backswing to address position
Stupid
First had my swing videoed in 1988, still have the videos - both DTL and face on. Obviously, before golf coaching became trend based 👍
