Listen, you're preaching to the choir here Custer! It IS the best FPS currently HOWEVER, the one aspect that keeps me at arms length from the game is lack of game pad/ controller support. I can't function at all with a mouse and keyboard when it comes to any game beyond turn based play... I look forward to if nothing else there being OFFICIAL CONTROLLER SUPPORT in Stalker 2...
What I like to do is go into the weather settings and put sunny weather on low chance. That way for days its cloudy and dark and raining. But then you walk out of a tunnel one day and the sun in shining over the zone and I take a moment to acknowledge the beauty that can be found in the zone. Right before a chimera sneaks up on me.
Im going to do this actually, although I modded Yantar to only have one weather setting(bleak like ShoC) and Red forest and Marsh have a custom fog weather thats super dense.

@@KABLAMMATS Ai is affected by weather, time of day, sleep, as well bushes and others i cant remember, the transparency settings were just jacked up for the bushes.

been playing stalker anomaly for almost one year now and that game even with zero mods is so well made and we all are so pround that the community of a stalker made a game that is 10 times better than most fps triple A games and with so many mods that mod packs have to offer i have no words

Also it’s no longer in development and this is a game that originally released back the the early 2000s

Ikr, AAA games dont seem finished, or polished compared to stalker anomaly. Thats why ive been playing games likes stalker anomaly, project zomboid, etc. They just put in the effort to make a good game or in this case a stand alone mod
@Fedor Silva and without proper mods the game can be hot shit. Not saying the game is bad, but if it needs mods to be better than the witcher 3 than it’s not a better game. Red dead 2 is arguably a competitor though. But overall I think the way witcher handles story and choices makes it currently undefeated.

I have literally played well over a thousand hours of stalker. Most likely closer to 2 thousand all on only the hardest difficulties. Just watching this video and hearing monolith chatter literally triggers my fight or flight response while I'm playing a different game. Going to be buying a new ssd soon and I plan on modding the hell out of and getting into Anomaly again.
@@AdamBorseti I haven't been away long. Only a few months. Lol. I've already modded the hell out of 1.5.12 and have put a couple hundred hours on Escape from Pripyat modpack. It's pretty good, though I have a few minor complaints. They actually got the magazine mod working without crashing/weird bugs. Though 1 or 2 guns don't use mags/use old-school loading methods (straight out of inventory) KS-23 long barrel, master race.

I love what the community has done with this game! When S.T.A.L.K.E.R. first came out I was somewhat disappointed as I thought you'd have more freedom but that was THQ's doing. THIS feels like what GSC had intended from the beginning.

I've just gotten into Stalker Anomaly and wanted to share some advice. There are many awesome mods to experiment with, but vanilla Anomaly is a perfectly fine experience on its own. If you're totally new to the series (I never played the originals) then I would recommend looking up a guide on repairing weapons and armor first, as it's a vital mechanic but not explained at all. And quick save (F5 default) often! No shame in reloading your quick save if things go upside down, which they will.
For what it's worth. I tried anomaly several times. I finally took the advice and played the first, shadow of Chernobyl (with ZRP mod that keeps things fairly vanilla/canon). It was worth my time and I promise it is worth anyone's who is new to STALKER. It helped so many things make sense, and the lore was most welcome. I really wasnt excited to play such a dated game and I cant stand old graphics, but I promise, it's worth your time. The game goes quick.
It's nice that our game is interested in the West. People from different countries know this old game. But unfortunately in Ukraine now there is a war and Stalker 2 and the new part of Metro 2033 may never be released. I personally took part in the development of Stalker 2. The graphics in the game will be amazing, but you also need a powerful computer. We hope for the victory of Ukraine, and we are waiting for the release of the games.

I love S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Anomaly but the AI seeing you through vegetation is really frustrating. I've heard its the result of how most vegetation, such as tall grass and bushes, are modeled in the X-Ray engine. It wasn't as much of a problem in the original S.TA.L.K.E.R. games since they used less vegetation due to graphical constraints. It feels like more of an issue in Anomaly because of the increased foliage, particularly which graphical add-ons that increase the amount of vegetation.
This 100%. I'd be far more willing to enable all sorts of hardcore features if the AI was bound by the same rules as the player. But except for the tree trunks, all of that grass and foliage is completely transparent to the thermal-goggles-wearing AI, and as far as I'm aware there's just no way to fix that. Like you said, it was rarely noticeable in the older games because they were so barren. It's only when you start adding more realistic amounts of foliage that it exposes just how badly the engine handles this.
You can fix that problem by lowering grass settings. Anybody who played using Dx8 as default setting knew that already. Lowers the emersion but hey! Ukraine's a steppe btw. You're more likely to find flatlands instead of jungles there.
@@HerrStrackenausf1 There isn't a single biome in Ukraine, it's mostly flatland but the north and the area around Kiev (where Chernobyl is) are mostly forest and swamp

One of my biggest wishes in life, like if I ever had a genie and had 3 wishes......first one, without hesitation or any shred of doubt, I'd ask to have my memory wiped of all STALKER games and experiences, to experience the series and many mods all over again for the first time! I try to replicate it by taking long breaks and hoping I forget things, but I always remember lol. STALKER is by far one of the most memorable gaming experiences I've had in my life, and for that it became of of my favorite games ever made. One of a handful. But no game has ever grabbed me like Stalker did, fallout is good, well certain fallouts, but they just don't hit the same level. All the other similar and compared games don't come close either, they are still good, fun and enjoyable but they just aren't as unique and immersive as Stalker and the many mods. I'm so excited for STALKER 2 and I really hope it's that new experience that will cement itself as a milestone in phenomenal gaming experiences! Can't wait!
Finally have a PC capable of running this and I'm glad I came here first. I got an idea of what mods to add now, although figuring out how to mod games on the PC is probably gonna suck 😅.
this looks awesome, the only thing that would bother me is the tarkov (prone to standing) sound that is used for walking through grass, even in the video i keep thinking someone is prone constantly aha
EFP is great, and they're testing a new build at the moment that gets rid of the HD models, which I enjoy, but I definitely prefer the vanilla models. Of course they're pimping those out with DICK and FVM. Gosh the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. modding scene is so great, such quality and FREE work. The devs work hard on all of it, it's like Fallout's modding scene but better imo. Vanilla S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is so great as well too, so when you add great mods to a great game, it just gets better and better. In fact, it's such a great game that a lot of people prefer Vanilla. I enjoy both, but either way, I feel like it's one of my favorite series of all time and I'd say that it's even pretty noob friendly due to all the customization you can do. I really stan your quality videos Custer, makes me excited to get back into my current save.

you'd be surprised how hard they are to spot sometimes. white camouflage seems unreasonable but in the zone it works. tho sometimes it does work out as intended
Dunno if EFP uses the latest BaS version because i run my own little pack, but you can actually turn on the lasers on the guns by holding L in case you didnt know, could be worth a try. Great video btw, really enjoy seeing Anomaly going strong as always and keep growing aswell^^
One thing that I feel unbalance on EFP modpack is the economy, one raid you cant get enough money to buy medicine and food so I always started with debug mode to get first loadout. Other than that, this game is fun to play and give you a lot of experience 😁👍 great video to showcase this game.
I have followed this game since it was originally announced reading PC Gamer articles. I remember being so excited for it. Unfortunately like so many titles I purchase and don't find time to play, the series has remained unplayed in my library to this day.
1:40 reminds me of the one video about stalker (real life stalker) trying to visit the Exclusion Zone. I forgot their channel's name, but its still on TH-cam. Imo, Anomaly is just Misery's expansion, but less miserable, and more stable.
ive been trying to get into this game but i have a bug where my tasks arent showing up in my minimap or pda. The first few tasks do but then all the others dont. For instance i was told to deliver a pda to someone in zatan. No idea what that is or where it is and theres nothing on my map to show me where it is.
i'm amazed you didn't get dunked by a chimera or turned a corner into a pseudogiant, got a mod to increase population(stalker and mutants) and the Red Forest just become an absolute shitfest
I will create the infused vodka mod, where you can store artifacts in vodka bottles and after 24 hours the positive effects of the artifact seep in the delicious liquid without the negative ones, and the effect lasts a given length, and you can cumulate effects by drinking multiple bottles but the more you drink the drunkiest you become, and you can also become an alcoholic where you tremble if you don’t drink and have hallucinations. Would be such fun 🤩
Does the grass provide functional concealment for you with this modpack? Or is their a specific mod that does it? Ive been playing gamma and frequently get shot by AI despite not having LOS. I dont think the grass/foliage is present for the AI.
What base game do you use for the Anomaly mod? Havn't played stalker since the days of the first release and I'm keen to get back into now that the community has improved the games
Watching made me think of some of the setting options included in Anomaly which I think would elevate the experience immersion-wise of the Red Forest. And the game in general, in my opinion. Namely tweaking "Mutant population" and "Stalker population" growth factors under Gameplay difficulty These won't affect maximum number of either in the zone but is adjusting the pace at which new mutants and stalkers spawns the zone. Tweak the mutant factor up a couple of decimals and the stalker factor down, and you got a lot of stuff going boink! in the night, and not much gear easy accessible outside bases. For Faction development it means that the zone is fairly empty for stalkers until the early midgame where different factors start sitting on the various maps outside their starting maps. Tweaking these and many others is done midgame and is separate from choosing difficulty level at start of game. And these two absolutly make for a vastly different and more of a loner-vibe'ed experience of the game
They were aiming at you because u had ur gun out (looking through the scope). One kept telling you to put your weapon down and the other said to holster it right away. Also, the new Stalker was about to be released, and now it's on hold, all Stalker fans can thank russia for it.
Do not forget that basically the stalker fan community is a Russian-speaking population that has been showing interest in the game for years, making mods and not letting the game die. If it wasn't for this whole group of people, Stalker 2 probably wouldn't even have been announced. We're both stalkers. And I am very glad that you are also interested in this project. Let's think about good things together and wait for Stalker 2. By the way, I've been waiting for this game for 10 years😆
Very good, I tend to prefer Anomaly with the Old World add on, closer to the core nor a pushover... Very much agree what makes Stalker is the unpredictability of the AI as no replay is ever the same.

spend like half of year playing a lot day by day stalker trying to get iron man mode achievement. Still didnt get this :D i love this game.
One of my biggest wishes in life, like if I ever had a genie and had 3 wishes......first one, without hesitation or any shred of doubt, I'd ask to have my memory wiped of all STALKER games and experiences, to experience the series and many mods all over again for the first time! I try to replicate it by taking long breaks and hoping I forget things, but I always remember lol. STALKER is by far one of the most memorable gaming experiences I've had in my life, and for that it became of of my favorite games ever made. One of a handful. But no game has ever grabbed me like Stalker did, fallout is good, well certain fallouts, but they just don't hit the same level. All the other similar and compared games don't come close either, they are still good, fun and enjoyable but they just aren't as unique and immersive as Stalker and the many mods. I'm so excited for STALKER 2 and I really hope it's that new experience that will cement itself as a milestone in phenomenal gaming experiences! Can't wait!

Finally have a PC capable of running this and I'm glad I came here first. I got an idea of what mods to add now, although figuring out how to mod games on the PC is probably gonna suck 😅.
this looks awesome, the only thing that would bother me is the tarkov (prone to standing) sound that is used for walking through grass, even in the video i keep thinking someone is prone constantly aha
EFP is great, and they're testing a new build at the moment that gets rid of the HD models, which I enjoy, but I definitely prefer the vanilla models. Of course they're pimping those out with DICK and FVM. Gosh the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. modding scene is so great, such quality and FREE work. The devs work hard on all of it, it's like Fallout's modding scene but better imo. Vanilla S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is so great as well too, so when you add great mods to a great game, it just gets better and better. In fact, it's such a great game that a lot of people prefer Vanilla. I enjoy both, but either way, I feel like it's one of my favorite series of all time and I'd say that it's even pretty noob friendly due to all the customization you can do. I really stan your quality videos Custer, makes me excited to get back into my current save.

Monolith are crazy, but Thanks to their tailor they run around in white suits which is great against the backdrop of the cold dark zone :)
you'd be surprised how hard they are to spot sometimes. white camouflage seems unreasonable but in the zone it works. tho sometimes it does work out as intended
Why is it so sunny? Where's the dark and depressing atmosphere gone? This is just Tarkov. At least it can be adjusted.
Dunno if EFP uses the latest BaS version because i run my own little pack, but you can actually turn on the lasers on the guns by holding L in case you didnt know, could be worth a try. Great video btw, really enjoy seeing Anomaly going strong as always and keep growing aswell^^

One thing that I feel unbalance on EFP modpack is the economy, one raid you cant get enough money to buy medicine and food so I always started with debug mode to get first loadout. Other than that, this game is fun to play and give you a lot of experience 😁👍 great video to showcase this game.

I have followed this game since it was originally announced reading PC Gamer articles. I remember being so excited for it. Unfortunately like so many titles I purchase and don't find time to play, the series has remained unplayed in my library to this day.

ive been trying to get into this game but i have a bug where my tasks arent showing up in my minimap or pda. The first few tasks do but then all the others dont. For instance i was told to deliver a pda to someone in zatan. No idea what that is or where it is and theres nothing on my map to show me where it is.

I will create the infused vodka mod, where you can store artifacts in vodka bottles and after 24 hours the positive effects of the artifact seep in the delicious liquid without the negative ones, and the effect lasts a given length, and you can cumulate effects by drinking multiple bottles but the more you drink the drunkiest you become, and you can also become an alcoholic where you tremble if you don’t drink and have hallucinations. Would be such fun 🤩

Does the grass provide functional concealment for you with this modpack? Or is their a specific mod that does it? Ive been playing gamma and frequently get shot by AI despite not having LOS. I dont think the grass/foliage is present for the AI.
What base game do you use for the Anomaly mod? Havn't played stalker since the days of the first release and I'm keen to get back into now that the community has improved the games

I played Shadow of Chornobyl, Clear Sky, and Call of Pripyat all on Day 1/Release Date without mods. Have I missed anything since then?
Watching made me think of some of the setting options included in Anomaly which I think would elevate the experience immersion-wise of the Red Forest. And the game in general, in my opinion. Namely tweaking "Mutant population" and "Stalker population" growth factors under Gameplay difficulty These won't affect maximum number of either in the zone but is adjusting the pace at which new mutants and stalkers spawns the zone. Tweak the mutant factor up a couple of decimals and the stalker factor down, and you got a lot of stuff going boink! in the night, and not much gear easy accessible outside bases. For Faction development it means that the zone is fairly empty for stalkers until the early midgame where different factors start sitting on the various maps outside their starting maps.
Tweaking these and many others is done midgame and is separate from choosing difficulty level at start of game. And these two absolutly make for a vastly different and more of a loner-vibe'ed experience of the game

They were aiming at you because u had ur gun out (looking through the scope). One kept telling you to put your weapon down and the other said to holster it right away.
Also, the new Stalker was about to be released, and now it's on hold, all Stalker fans can thank russia for it.
Do not forget that basically the stalker fan community is a Russian-speaking population that has been showing interest in the game for years, making mods and not letting the game die. If it wasn't for this whole group of people, Stalker 2 probably wouldn't even have been announced. We're both stalkers. And I am very glad that you are also interested in this project. Let's think about good things together and wait for Stalker 2. By the way, I've been waiting for this game for 10 years😆
Very good, I tend to prefer Anomaly with the Old World add on, closer to the core nor a pushover... Very much agree what makes Stalker is the unpredictability of the AI as no replay is ever the same.
That gate is one of my favorite farming spots..
