LOL. I'm sorry!! The S&B 47gallon tank is already a game changer, seriously. I can't wait to take it on our first really long trip, but the local ones we've taken already have been awesome. The only thing I don't like about it is that Mercedes won't allow you to change the tank capacity in the software so that the Miles to Empty works correctly. That's a huge bummer IMO. But it's nice the gas gauge works and the new float they provide since late 2023 does a better job of making that consistent.
Rookie mistake. Use a notched trowel. The purpose of the notches is that when the notches get pressed down under the flooring, it spreads out so the adhesive is the same thickness everywhere. And I wouldn't spray contact adhesive inside if I could take out the floor and do it outside. That stuff gets everywhere. But the V Tape trick? That's new to me. Thanks.
Hey there, thanks for stopping by and the feedback and recommendations for others. The trowel I used is notched and the official one recommended by Lonseal the flooring manufacturer. The dexterity of the specific gun I used with the contact adhesive was not problem. I didn’t get overspray anywhere in the van I did a bunch of testing on cardboard outside of the van to make sure that it wouldn’t be a problem before moving inside.
Thank you for the continued support. Yeah I don't think I'm going back to 3M90 for upholstery ever again. It's great for quickly slapping up some thinsulate, but that's about it for me from here on out. The Landau is just so much better and with the air gun it's super easy to spray out, much more control than I thought there was going to be.
Thanks Richmond. It turned out really nice and actually is starting to feel like a real space. Can believe have fast you guys turned yours around this is so much work on so many different levels.
Hey there, thanks for the support! Working through the rocker lockers and the headliner shelves first / actually trying to finish my van 🤪! But hopefully can get these coming by the fall time.
Unfortunately my CNC is for metalworking so the working area is way to small for this type of stuff. But you might want to check out RoutedWild - www.etsy.com/shop/RoutedWild. Mike is doing some cool stuff if you are in California.
Any marine grade high temp anti-seize will work! You want to make sure it’s okay for high humid environments and that it won’t thin and drip/run when the van heats up. If you can get the ones that are okay below the waterline those are great if the holes are outside the van!
@@brentperkins8680 of course, glad you are liking them! Unfortunately I don't have a lot of time these days with a new born, a new day job and other responsibilities so not sure on the timeline for getting those up. I'm working on the custom welded electrical cabinet and the custom passengers seat swivel at the moment.
I noticed 3M thinsulate on your floor. I want to do the same tho some say it’s not good for that? What’re your thoughts? I have the 600 ml thinsulate for my sprinter, what thickness is on your floor?
Hey Rod, I used 3M TAI1547. It’s a thinner variant that’s a little less expensive. You could use the 600 but it’s a lot of extra material to just compress under the floor there especially if you fill the grooves like I did with minicell. If you don’t do that I think it would be good. And expand to fill those voids pretty nicely. I’m a huge Thinsulate fan I think it’s a great material for van building. There’s a lot of contradictory opinions and preferences but if you look at the physical properties of the material alone it’s kind of an obvious choice for me. I think Airtime from Sprinter Source did exactly what you said. I’ll link it here later if I can find it. Hope this helps!
@@moonrakerdesign Thanks! I’ll do that. Not adding mini cell as I’m putting Kilmat instead. I looked into every insulation on you tube and thinsulate wins hands down! I saw a comparison on you tube between havelock and thinsulate comparing R value, flammability, and moisture that totally nailed it. I’ll send you the channel.
You Sir are a ‘Bad Santa’…lol…You have the S&B 47Gallon I want. Our Sprinter build never ends…lol

I drove from western Colorado to Kalispell Montana on a single tank with the S&B tank.. ✌️

absolutely beautiful!! Nicely made....that Weldwood comes highly recommended. (More so than the 3M90 for this)

Of course yall went above and beyond even on the floor install by adding tracks and that sweet step extension. So fresh. So clean.

Damn that utility knife bar was 😵💫🫨🔥🔥🔥

So when is the aluminum step going to be available for purchase?

Hey, so you got that CNC machine up and running how much to cut us folks out here in TV Land one of them floors? Hmmm

Hi is there an alternative to the LB8036 as this not available in the UK Thanks

Is the 3M good floor insulation also??
