Hi Paul, very interesting to see this tower having now been moved back from the edge of the cliff, maybe it will have to be moved again in the future?, don't think we will see that in our lifetime!. It did remind me of the Smeaton tower, on Plymouth hoe, which was on the Edystone rock. Different sort of tower of course. It would have been very brave for people to venture out to try and effect a rescue in rough seas, if that was what it was for. A quick search tells me that the building was originally aligned to magnetic north and is now 7° out of alignment. That's 7° in nearly 200 years, still it does seem a lot to me. In a similar vein there are a number of buildings in Cadiz which were built with look out towers, these were to monitor ships returning back from the Americas. Apparently there are 130 still standing one of which is an octagonal tower called the "La Bella Escondida" because it cannot be seen from the street (Escondida means hidden). Anyway, very enjoyable to watch, well done!! All the best!!

Yes, it really is a rather special place - in fact the town is superb - I am probably a little biased though! A very good range of shops, including an independent department store (the rather excellent Wroes) who have just opened a satellite shop nearby specialising in outdoor clothing. Lots of other independents and a good bookshop as well as the best pasty shop in Cornwall (Pengenna Pasties) although, sadly, I can't eat their lovely vegetarian pasties anymore due to my gluten allergy. Lovely video Paul. I'd also like to praise your photography too, some great shots. What a laborious job moving the tower brick by brick, take out one brick, walk 100m and lay that one, return for the next one. They'd obviously need to take the bottom ones first, lay those then work their way upwards. The mind boggles 😃. Bude's lovely and much underrated methinks, I'm feeling quite nostalgic to be back there, not been for about 3 years. Keep up the good work.

Some great shots there Paul of your time in Bude. We took the kids camping there a few times, not one of my favourite places but still looks nice. I would have loved to have seen that Storm Tower taken down & transported to its new spot. It’s such a shame about the coastline corroding but moving things is much better than losing them. Nicely made video Paul. When we was there last July the tower was in pieces all lined up in their correct order ready to be rebuilt in its new location. Nice that you can walk inside. We've noticed quite a few overhangs on that section of the coastline but it's staggering how many people we've seen walk almost up to the edge. Looks like you had some lovely weather down there. 😊😊

First of all before I forget Congratulations on reaching 3,000 subs!! I didn’t look on the last video re the WSR so not sure when you reached this total! This is the only place in Cornwall that I have visited & many years ago now! We were on a touring holiday & I cannot remember where we stayed! Unfortunately I do remember the weather wasn’t good which of course colours any visit. When you talk about moving structures my mind wanders to the London Bridge Sale! And all that must have entailed!!! I cannot fathom how that was achieved! I really enjoyed this piece of history and the lovely views & bird songs. P.s. How did you persuade that sheep to pose for you by the bench? Thanks Paul!

I think Bude may very well be my favourite town in Cornwall - highly impressed with the standard of cleanliness in the town and with a good balance of shops, and, not that I can eat them anymore, the best Cornish Pasty in Cornwall (Pengenna's).
