You both put so much into this build, and it is going to bring you so much joy and satisfaction when it is done. Please don't think that what you share with us is boring, it really isn't. It is informative and a true reflection of what is involved in building a structure. Thank you for filming, editing and sharing with us. I hope your anxiety diminishes and you manage to get some much needed sleep xxx
Possibly the best line I've ever heard, "Oh, my ovaries! They're angry!" I laughed until I cried.🤣🤣🤣 Regarding the work... my husband and I retired to Asturias. We intended to travel. We traveled and then we realized we wanted to work. But we're retired so we can't work at a job. So we bought a ruin with land where we can work. NOW we're happy. Tired but happy.
Das besondere an eurem Kanal ist, dass es nicht nur "Renovation" ist sondern eine Abenteuer - Familien - Natur-Thriller - Serie ist. Man bekommt einfach alles... ❤
Ale looks so fragile but still doing so many heavy duty tasks (and to some of us even the miter saw looks scary) Were do you both find all that energy? And the views from your future windows are amazing! This is gonna be a very beautiful home indeed
You can be proud of what you've done already, it's a lot further along than I thought it would get in the time. You work well together and step back when needed. Congratulations on getting it up. Huge hugs from Cape Town.❤
love that you keep it real on film, you're so entertaining, it's refreshing you could be low on protein & iron, bags under the eyes is also a low protein sign & I know what it's like with chronic fatigue, always so tired, with the extra work you're doing you may need to up your food intake absolutely loved the view shots, you are privileged living where you do, so beautiful! feel better & thanx for sharing
Don't sell yourself short, you guys are taking on something most wouldn't. Look at what you are doing and where you are. Glad to know you got to the point of loving each other again lol, that was sooo funny, been there lol. You are one of the videos I look out for each week. ❤
I think you do a great job, and I love the explanations.I also do love that you share the more privat parts like anxiety, periods, thoughts and so on. Keep up the good work ❤
Guys you are the best in what you do , good work I admire you two because I couldn’t do the things you do and I like Wale’s patience and Ali is very supportive. 👍love you guys and your vlogs.
Yep, life gets overwhelming at times. I’m so excited you guys are doing this, and I can’t wait to see your new studio 🥰 Ali, so true, you don’t need to proof anything to anyone! Peer pressure can often put others and yourself in danger, and for what?!?
Exactly. I often think about whether I want to try something because I genuinely want to or because I feel like I should want to, and if it’s the latter, I refuse 😄 It’s a very important distinction!
@@WaleandMeit took me waaaaaaayyyyyyy too long to realize this. Thanks to my strict/Catholic upbringing. I’m watching my girls raise their kids now, and I have so much hope for them 🥰
Your vlogs always bring a smile to my face. On the last episode you were tired and your energy was depleted. It was best to stop and walk away to reenergize. Your teamwork is wonderful, it brings out each other’s strengths. Great work! 🎉🎉🎉😊😊😊
I enjoy your video but wish you would eat some red meat. Your energy levels are low because your iron is low. My daughter had the same problem, always tired, and she was advised by her doctor to eat more meat.
You are perfectionists! But it looks brilliant, and such a hard job. Well done! Sometimes taking a step back helps when you are doing something new :).
I love your perseverance and energy to get these walls up! You might have saved a bit of frustration by using impact plugs instead of chemical plugs. Chemical plugs are really meant for high stress/load applications, like steel beams that you want to connect to concrete. Impact plugs would have been more than enough for a light wooden structure. But this will definitely hold 😊
Haha we are over-cautious because of the 200km/h winds we get here. Also the frustration was worth it for us as we got most of the materials for free. But thanks for the useful info 👏♥️
Loved watching you guys learning as you build. Warner is like a little kid with tools 😂 - thank goodness you are there to supervise Allie ! I was giggling the whole way through. Well done. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I wish there was local people who would volunteer their time to help you with your build. Working for food is a great enticer which builds community. 😊
True! I think the thing I that everyone is so busy here with their own things that it’s more difficult to come together. But hopefully in the future we can build a community of neighbors that work together ☺️
The best way to build the structure is to connect all the walls together with screws or even just clamps. Then square the structure and the last thing is to bolt it to the slab. Expandable concrete bolts are much better to use than the ones that require adhesive. The expandable bolts can be done through the bottom plate so you don't have to move the walls onto the bolts.
Yes, really important! We may not talk about it explicitly but we’ve done and will be doing numerous steps to protect the whole studio from the humid cement base. First we applied liquid flashing under where the walls would be placed. Then, if you notice when we put them in the final time there’s a thick black plastic underneath (we looked for a better solution but it was impossible to source here). After this we’ll be taking many more steps to seal the build. Basically, we’re doing everything we can to make sure we don’t have humidity issues in the future 😊
I actually like the explanations, cause I am planing to do something similar in couple of years! Thanks for the insights and please keep giving use that information ;D
I think one of the most important things you did is stopping when you didn't like how it was looking and doing it again. Good on you for powering through, the angry ovaries probably gave you an aggressive approach and helped in some twisted way. 👍
The book sounds great, I'll definitely look into reading it. It reminds me of the fact that everyone has a different language for love, if you don't show your partner love in his language, or way of feeling love, he won't feel that love and vise versa. It is so true. Also actions speak louder than words, showing your love makes your partner feel it without words. So important. I could ramble on and on... ❤

I feel your pain, Ali. The biggest pro of menopause is no more cramps and periods 😁
What an amazing studio this will be!!! 🥰🧡🥰

I can see why you added the small walls, it adds major strength to the weakest points. Great design.👍
Be proud of your hard work.

Hey, I have trouble building a gingerbread house, so you should pat yourselves on the back for perseverance on a tough project. Good going 👏
😂😂 You really made us laugh with this comment! Thank you ♥️
I had no.idea how the wall attach to the floor...thankyou I learn't something. You both are amazing and the studio will be awesome
i do not see any waterproof membrane between the wood and cement base, would that not be a wise thing to do?
I was wondering the same also.

It’s ok to redesign things as you go along that’s normal it will be ok in the end.
Thanks for the book recommendation!
You kan drill through the wood en concreet. And blow the holes out.

This fog is like in horror 😅
Hahaha yes!
Is the young lady an actress, she certainly loves the sound of her own voice. For Christ's sake get on with it!!
