SUPARCO - Space & Upper Atmosphere Research Commission.
Logically it would be SUARCO. But the Pakistani hate SUAR, hence it was renamed but to no effect as even after 60 years it has only a building as office and a few officials.
On the other hand, ISRO is one amongst the leading space research organisation in the world even though it was created after SUPARCO.
But they are Very good at saying INSHALLAH, Subhanallah, Mashallah, Rehmetullah, Bismillah, Lulli, Lulla, Almudulillah, Allahtallah, Ummah, Chummah, Jhummah etc etc whole dat Technology gaya Tel lene.
It was not created after suparco. It was there in india since 1945 (most don't know that)
India already had one institute for space research since 1945 called "Tata Institute of Fundamental Research".
In 1962 india nationalised space program and named it "Indian National Committee for Space Research (INCOSPAR)" (this was the program founded by vikram sarabhai not isro).
In 1969 indira Gandhi remodeled INCOSPAR and CREATED ISRO (maybe took inspiration from NASA)

Why our first satellite was called as Aryabhatta? Aryabhatta was great mathematician, astronomer, scholar. He wrote book Aryabhatiya in 4-5th century. In this book he first time mentioned that earth revolves around its own axix, earth revolves around sun and he also calculated area of earth. Its the first book which mentioned it first time in the world. This book is written nearly 1500 years ago. So to respect him. We named our satellite after his name
