I love you all so much! I was weirdly nervous to put out this video, since I'm just trying out some new content on my channel. I appreciate the love & support of me trying something new! :) ALSO! I ended up typing up printable PDF recipes for each of these! They are linked in the info box! :)
Jessica Braun Thanks! This is so helpful! It’s so nice to have some new ideas for meals to cook at home. I love the blue tie dye sweatshirt you wore on night two. Can you please share where you got it?
Im a professional chef in St.Augustine Florida and its always interesting to me to watch regular people cook at home. Sesame oil is definitely an essential if you enjoy eating and cooking asian inspired food. In your taco recipe instead of starting with olive oil in your pan to ground the meet you can go straight in with the sesame oil. Adds a lot of flavor and i personally think it helps cook the flavor into the meat.
Just a tip: Your corn tortillas are probably falling apart because you're nuking them. Try warming them up in a skillet on your stovetop. That helps evaporate the moisture in the tortillas. Nuking them in a towel keeps the moisture in.
I literally paused the video to come comment this lol. The reason why they’re falling apart is because she’s microwaving them. It will take the same amount of time to warm them up on a skillet and it would taste a million times better, plus the tortilla will be sturdier. Back to the video lol.
Bonnie F I hand make my corn tortillas my family can’t handle package tortillas so easy to make and yes huge difference ! I make everyday and I have full time job 😉
Just want to say I’ve followed for years and have loved you forever but your content lately is straight 🔥. So much positivity. Your videos are cozy, and relaxing, and happy, and your family makes me so happy 🖤🖤
I have been thinking about the “getting started with running video” that you mentioned at one point. I would find that super useful, I hope you end up filming that one!
When you’re done using the scallions, take the roots and place them in a mason jar with water near a window. They’ll regrow and you won’t have to buy them anymore! You’ll always have them!! Lol
Nikki Gutierrez I’ve never tried planting them but you probably could. I just keep them in water by my window. They regrow just fine there, and quite quickly too!
I'm from England and was so confused when you kept saying scallions and green onions as I'd never heard of them but when you showed them I was like OHHHH! We call them spring onions! So many names for one thing 😂
You can actually grow your own green onions. I learned this from Kelly’s Korner’s channel here on TH-cam. You put them in water and apparently they just keep replenishing! Also, you don’t feel nervous doing new content w food. You’re a natural, still so you but just in the kitchen. I think you did a great job!
eobrien1 I’ve done this and it totally works! I bought some back in Feb and I’ve harvested from them eight times (no joke)! The greens get a little bit thinner the more you cut them down but it still works! Just be sure to change the water often or it gets slimy. You can also replant the whites into some potting soil and that works, too. 👍🏽
It works! I kill all the green things 🤣 But I’ve managed to keep the same green onions alive for FIVE weeks! 5 stalks grow so fast I can’t use them fast enough. Easiest thing ever!
I am loving the variety of content you have been bringing to your channel. I am definitely in a rut with cooking right now so this is perfect timing! Spewing some video ideas here but: Videos on favorite cookbooks, food accounts, websites/ your pantry or fridge staples/ a fun cook-off between you and Tyler?
I love these types of videos. I feel like I get in a food rut and get tired of eating the same meals. Learning new recipes is something I love. Thank you!
I loved this! It’s so relatable to see a TH-camr eat real food instead of açaí bowls and cotton balls. 😂 found you from your makeup videos, but like others, have subbed for all your other videos.
This is awesome Jess!! I wanted to mention that sesame oil is amazing for making at home Chinese/Japanese food like dumplings, fried rice, etc! I always have it on hand to cook oriental skillet meals in, whether from scratch or a frozen meal starter kit 😋
@@hizzchek I've never made fried rice before and have been craving it like crazy lately! Your comment is perfect timing! Where can I find said recipe?!
I haven’t made these in a few months until tonight… these tacos have no business being this freaking delicious! I’m 4 months pregnant and this is HITTING THE SPOT lol 🤤🤤🤤 I have missed them so much!
My mom gave me the best green onion tip. Plant whatever you have leftover in a pot. They multiply and you'll always have access to green onions. I love it because usual only chop up one but when you buy them you have a bunch.very low maintenance. Thanks for the new dinner ideas!
The Mac n cheese WAS. SO. GOOD. I love this content from you! It’s showing your personality more, which, makes me wish I knew you because we have very similar personalities! You’re branching out into all kinds of things besides makeup, and I’m loving it all! I may or may not have been binge watching your vlogs on repeat 🙃 Go Girl!
I just want to say we tried the sesame taco recipe and my entire family loved it! We will be making it again. We made homemade guacamole and pico to go with it and it was so good.
Jess, I've been watching you for years, and you are such a joy to watch always, but especially during these trying times your positivity is such a blessing and comfort. As soon as I saw this video pop up I couldn't wait to watch, I made the taco meat the same day but had it over a bed of rice because I didn't have tortillas. Oh my goodness!! This is my new favorite ground beef recipe. Thank you for sharing. I pray for you and your family during this time. Have a wonderful day full of blessings.
I'm sure someone has mentioned it already but, fry up the corn tortillas in a pan before you make your tacos!! Definitely a better taste, won't fall apart 👌
Loving the video so far! You can keep green onions in a jar with water at the bottom in a window and they regrow, just change the water and rinse the roots every few days to keep it fresh. I just use the store bought ones.
I noticed how this video got low views compared to your normal videos, start going these on Tyler’s channel! I love these! I went to the store today and got all the things I needed for a weeks worth of food and picked up all three recipes while I was there! Had the tacos tonight they were a HIT! Love you girl!
The chickpea skillet and the tacos have become absolute favorites!! I literally have been eating the chickpea skillet about 2x a week since you posted this. Lol. Can’t get enough of it ..Still need to try the Mac and cheese, I’m sure it’s awesome too. Also, bought the cookbook and it’s a winner! Thanks for sharing all the great recipes and tips!
Thank you so so much to you and your husband for these dinner ideas and for creating the printable recipes!! It’s the small things that mean so much! ❤️ ALWAYS enjoy what you put out, I don’t like to miss a single video! Just going to say, as a mom of 2 toddlers, your content is right up my alley! I love you adding in other practical elements of life ... I watch you during nap time or after kids go down for bed and this is such an awesome stress relief! Again, thank you and may God keep blessing your journey here on TH-cam and in life 😊
In french we say « oignons verts » witch translates green onions! I always tought our french canadian vocabulary was more like translation from UK english than US english!
I love your recipes and cooking parts of vlogs bc it’s so realistic and manageable and I mean that in the way that sometimes people say “quick and easy” but you try and you’re in the kitchen for hours or the meal is healthy but not filling or missing components to feel like a complete meal. Anyways I love these types of videos from you! I’m a terrible cook, but I want to try these!
“Im trying not to drink wine every night of quarantine” 😂 I felt that, for the first two weeks I FLEW through the wine and then it got hot and I tried to put on my shorts from last year. Nope, gotta cut back lol
I desperately want to be the type of person that has cookbooks and an onion chopper, but I’m just not. Lol Stay in your lane, I always say. Thanks for letting me live vicariously through you and your wonder life, Jess! ❤️
I didn't know where to put this... request? I've been binge watching your videos. I love them AND I was wondering if you could film more of the ones where you cook? I love your videos where you share your recipes! Is that weird? LOL, I don't know, but those have got to be my favorite ones. I just really enjoy watching you and your sweet family hanging out, how you and your husband take turns to cook dinner and watching you interact with Gigi. It's just my warm and fuzzy space I guess. Thanks!!!
Beginning of video: Actually, I didn’t cut these Tyler did because he’s faster than me. *nervous chuckles* I was just doing other stuff. Mid video: Honestly, I don’t really like chopping onions. Are we the same person? I feel every part of this and I am dying 😂😂😂😂😂
I really enjoy how casual and user-friendly you made this video. You gave great suggestions on modifications and I found it so relaxing. Sometimes I think we get stuck on not having everything exactly right. It's always nice to get new meal suggestions too. We often feel like we are just eating the same things all the time, but we really enjoy trying new things. I'm looking forward to trying the taco recipe!
I made the chickpea, tomato and egg meal for my husband and I Sunday morning and we loved it!!! He literally said “I think we should make this every weekend!”. Needless to say...it was a home run. I am making the sesame beef tacos this weekend...yum!
When I first heard Jessica say grown up Mac and Cheese, I thought, Does it have vodka in it or something? Hahaha. Just my two cents. These recipes look fabulous!!
My husband and I also love the sesame beef taco recipe! Tip on the corn tortillas; try using 2 together. I usually have the same problem, but when I ordered street tacos from a local authentic Mexican restaurant the tacos came with double shells. They were delicious and didn’t fall apart. 🌮
Jess a tip fir the corn tortillas, heat up a small amount of canola oil/or whatever you like to use fir frying....about a 1/2inch in pan, when its simmering place your shell in it and cook on each side for approximately 20 to 30 seconds...a little longer if you like, my hubby likes them cooked 45seconds, after place on a paper towel lined plate, ill lay like 3 on one piece of paper towel spread out, then put another paper towel on top, and do 3 more shells, then another paper towel...ETCETERA ...till your done with the amount you want to cook...i them place a paper towel on top...it kinda soaks up the extra oil...this method is the only method I use for my soft Tacos, it heats the corn, they are pliable but less likely to fall apart so quickly, they might still split , especially if you over stuff them but hey grab a fork and eat the rest after your shelled taco is gone...you might have tried already but thought I would share...the corn tortilla just has a more robust flavor this way.
Love this type of video! Would be great if you could make this a regular series. I love to cook, but sometimes get stuck in a meal planning rut. Getting to hangout with you while cooking dinner is awesome 🙂
You guys will have to grow some scallions in your new garden beds! So easy to grow and even more flavor. 👍 Love your cooking/recipe vlogs ❤️ Keep em’ coming!
Love all of yours and Tyler’s recent videos, you’re the one TH-cam family I still enjoy watching (and I think it’s because you’re still real people ❤️) and Omgosh compelled to comment cause how wonderful is Gigi during the adult Mac and Cheese recipe in the background! Taking her phone calls, very important girl on the move! 😂 So adorable!
Awww Jessica I enjoyed this video! I've been watching you for years so it was like cooking dinner with a friend! You're so down to earth and real. Thanks for the recipes. We usually have these kinds of ingredients on hands so win win!
We made your tacos for Cinco de Mayo/Taco Tuesday and you’re so right! Even better than regular tacos! Even my son (who tends to be a picky eater) said this is way better. Thank you for sharing.
I don’t comment, really ever on anything, but I just had to! I loved loved this video and we are having the tacos tomorrow night and I’m pumped. I’m hungry already! Please PLEASE make this a series that you keep going!!!
I will be making ALL THREE of these! Always looking for quick dinners. And after LeighAnn & Grant’s reaction to the tacos, I had to see what was so magical. Also! Love using sesame oil for Laura in the Kitchen’s egg roll in a bowl. Another super fast meal we make all the time (I add scrambled egg). Highly recommend!
You guys are seriously the best . Genuinely the best . Your vlogs/videos in general bring me so much joy ❤️. I wish we were real friends and I lived in Indiana . I live in Chicago. If i lived in Indiana I would help you guys out with anything that I could , especially helping babysit gigi!!!❤️
Omg loved this video so much please do more cooking vids this was the highlight of my day and seeing the little one with her cell was an extra bonus soooooo cute!!!!!!!
You are hands down one of my TOP 5 people I love watching here on TH-cam! Thank you 🙏🏻 for your lovely, genuine, down-to-earth personality! I never miss a video! (Love Tyler too!) Stay safe! 😷🤭 xo! Toni
Great ideas! I love that cookbook. Variation on the egg dish - try runny fried eggs over Spanish rice (or Spanish riced cauliflower) and top with queso fresco and cilantro 🤤
Absolutely LOVED this!! 🥰 . I really enjoy cooking but have been a bit “stale “ lately 🙈. I will be making all of these - starting tonight with the tacos. My daughter and grandson will be stopping by for “ fast food pick-up service at Lola’s” (Lola is Filipino for grandma- I became a grandmother at a young age when my granddaughter was born and this required a very cool name - I’ve been “Lola” for 13 yrs) Anyhow Mr. Mason man is going to love his “take out dinner “ tonight- thank you 😊. Something about watching you guys cook is very comforting and relaxing Have a beautiful week and stay safe ❤️❤️❤️ Xo Tammy Roy 🇨🇦
Thank you for this video! Thank you for all your videos ! You always say there are people who's videos you never miss , well I miss a video from you! I love the three beauty but I love the lifestyle ! Once again thank you !
Made the chickpea dish this weekend and it was faboosh! I added spinach and it seemed a little bitter so I might leave it out next time. Thanks for posting. I think this is a natural evolution for your channel. Keep 'em coming, lady!
These are inspiring me for dinner tonight!!! Also a tip for corn tortillas-heat them on a skillet and they won’t fall apart as easily! They get a little more crisp instead and won’t break apart!
Love your grocery hauls. I live in PA, we're a little archaic here - Aldi can't sell wine 👎 Also, in the larger chain grocery stores I always see those little sponge cakes in the produce section beside the strawberries. Your little Gigi melts my heart, when she pointed and said "oh", that immediately became the highlight of this video ❤
Tip for the corn tortillas: fry them in a pan with a little oil they won't break apart! About a minute each side. When you flip for the second side fold them.
The food you cook in your house wouldn’t fly in mine (Mexican immigrant blue-collar family) but, the way you described those tacos made my mouth water so much. I might have to make those for myself since I’m working from home for now..
I enjoyed this video so so much. Tip, put the lettuce that is going bad in the freezer like you do spinach and add to protein shakes. It doesn’t taste any different then the spinach and at least your not wasting the lettuce. I totally loved the sweatshirt in the first recipe featured. You two are killin it with keepin us entertained, ooops, I did mean, three 👨👩👧. Love you, Darling
I love you all so much! I was weirdly nervous to put out this video, since I'm just trying out some new content on my channel. I appreciate the love & support of me trying something new! :)

Love the content you are putting up! It is great to see different types of content you are uploading
Please do more of these!!! I love watching your vlogs and seeing what you guys make for meals. Such great ideas!!!
Jessica Braun if you fry your tortilla in a little oil, for just a few seconds it will firm them up so they dont fall apart!

My jaw has dropped. I'm so used to using the paper towel method with flour tortillas, but never really thought about it!! THANK YOU!
I came here to say the same thing 😂 running each one under some water and slapping them on a skillet for 30 or so seconds a side makes them perfect!
@@itsjessicabraun You're welcome! For some reason, the paper towel method seems to work a lot better with flour tortillas.
Oh nice! I just left this comment. Yes for proper tortilla cooking! 😁🙌
Yes! Get that corn flavour happening!!!! Hot pan let em inflate!!!!
Instead of warming up the tortillas in the microwave you should warm them on the stove. Gives them more structure
This.. warm them on directly on a flame or just in a pan.. they break cause the steam and get wet. But food looks yummy
thatssoang I was literally coming on here to say this! And by cooking them on the stove you’ll get more of that corn flavor.😃
I literally paused the video to come comment this lol. The reason why they’re falling apart is because she’s microwaving them. It will take the same amount of time to warm them up on a skillet and it would taste a million times better, plus the tortilla will be sturdier. Back to the video lol.
thatssoang agree but wet them first...yummy

Lol I was thinking the same exact thing

When you’re done using the scallions, take the roots and place them in a mason jar with water near a window. They’ll regrow and you won’t have to buy them anymore! You’ll always have them!! Lol
Courtney Marie do you eventually plant them or they grow in the water?
Nikki Gutierrez I’ve never tried planting them but you probably could. I just keep them in water by my window. They regrow just fine there, and quite quickly too!
Do they need soil or just water? I’ve never grown anything in my life so I have no clue. 🤷🏼♀️
I was just about to post this. I felt so smart when I first did this lol
@@DukeLover1421 you just need water! You can regrow lemongrass in the same way if you have the root end.
I'm from England and was so confused when you kept saying scallions and green onions as I'd never heard of them but when you showed them I was like OHHHH! We call them spring onions! So many names for one thing 😂
Emily H We call them spring onions here in Australia. I was confused too.
I will use her term "i was last week year's old when i found out scallions were also spring onions" 😁✌
I’m so glad you said that. A whole world of American recipes have opened up lol. We don’t use skillet either is that fry pan
Same here, I’m from Switzerland and we call them Frühlingszwibeln, which means spring onions. Never heard of the American words. 🤷🏼♀️
Scallions is an Irish term for green onions.
I'm loving this! I came for the makeup, and I'm staying for the vlogs and ESPECIALLY the cooking! 😻😻
Verochka_Moya me too!
Idk who will vibe with this but when jess was like “most ppl don’t have sesame oil” i was like UNLESS YOU ASIAN GURL where ma peeps at
Yes. Always. Usually with a backup too 😉
Making Asian food is the reason I have it! 😄
Always. Soy sauce + sesame oil in everything
Not Asian but we ALWAYS have sesame oil on hand!

I am so surprised Tyler doesn’t eat beans in his tacos.
Love this type of video! Would be great if you could make this a regular series. I love to cook, but sometimes get stuck in a meal planning rut. Getting to hangout with you while cooking dinner is awesome 🙂
The power of Jessica!! I hate to cook, but I still watched the entire thing! I just like to hang out at the Braun house! 😘
You guys will have to grow some scallions in your new garden beds! So easy to grow and even more flavor. 👍 Love your cooking/recipe vlogs ❤️ Keep em’ coming!
You should do more of these!(: Pinocchio is so cute watching you cook😭🐶🥺
Love all of yours and Tyler’s recent videos, you’re the one TH-cam family I still enjoy watching (and I think it’s because you’re still real people ❤️) and Omgosh compelled to comment cause how wonderful is Gigi during the adult Mac and Cheese recipe in the background! Taking her phone calls, very important girl on the move! 😂 So adorable!
I seriously don’t usually watch cooking vlogs..but I was watching this one intently!. Just love anything u put out 💕
Just a helpful tip- you can chop and freeze the green onions and they reheat when cooking very well. I use an old pickle jar so they can be air tight.
And yes please do a video each on your top 10 recipes and Tylers top 10 recipes!!
Omg loved this video so much please do more cooking vids this was the highlight of my day and seeing the little one with her cell was an extra bonus soooooo cute!!!!!!!
OMG. I love your dog stalking you while you are cooking. We had a beagle, and she lived in our kitchen when I cooked.
Normally do not watch cooking videos or vlogs, but I loved this! I really love your channel :)
I’m a notorious picky eater but all these dishes look delicious and are foods that I would eat. Excited to make them for some of my meals. 😊
YUMMM 🤤 I love seeing you guys cook, you always have great ideas. Also it’s awesome that you and Tyler always take turns cooking dinner, what a treat!
My daughter and grandson will be stopping by for “ fast food pick-up service at Lola’s” (Lola is Filipino for grandma- I became a grandmother at a young age when my granddaughter was born and this required a very cool name - I’ve been “Lola” for 13 yrs)
Anyhow Mr. Mason man is going to love his “take out dinner “ tonight- thank you 😊. Something about watching you guys cook is very comforting and relaxing
Have a beautiful week and stay safe ❤️❤️❤️

Thank you for this video! Thank you for all your videos ! You always say there are people who's videos you never miss , well I miss a video from you! I love the three beauty but I love the lifestyle ! Once again thank you !
This was GREAT!! I am so sick of cooking and can’t think of what to cook so this was perfect timing!!!!
Made the chickpea dish this weekend and it was faboosh! I added spinach and it seemed a little bitter so I might leave it out next time. Thanks for posting. I think this is a natural evolution for your channel. Keep 'em coming, lady!
Love seeing these recipes! Your dog is also so beautiful 😍 Thanks for sharing your cooking videos, they’re lots of fun to watch!
MORE VIDEOS LIKE THIS PLEASE!!!!! I'm going to make all of these recipes asap
You should do these alllll the time!!! Loved these ideas!!!!
I loveeeeeeeeeeed this!!!!!!! Please keep making these; food commentary is much appreciated. Also, cookbook recs?? Love you guys!
Omg do this more often!! I LOVED ALL the recipes!
Love that you posted Food tutorials!!! Please keep them coming!💕💕
