  • In this video I am replacing the tachometer gauge face on my 1994 Toyota Supra's gauge cluster.
Our gauge cluster was modified with a LED setup by Stu Hagen. We are updating the center tachometer gauge to a yellow one vs a black one.
We show step-by-step how to remove the gauge cluster and access the gauge faces.
Durning the process I learned how to adjust and calibrate the tachometer needle as best as one can without having electronic calibrating equipment. We accomplished setting ours correctly.
After remove the orange cables behind the A/C control unit, the airbag indicator turns on and stays on. In order to fix this please follow this guide:

Keeps these mods coming. Subtle changes can make such a difference in the ownership of this fun car. And it doesn’t break the bank.

It is. One small step at a time. It’s fun to take on these projects. 🙂

People always see the MK4 Supra as “Immortal” but I love how you fixed the Ecu, which is just an “age” problem, and are also showing people how to “tastefully mod” and maintain their cars.

Ps: Have you ever considered manual swapping? I’m sure you get that a lot but it’s still a valid question 🙂

Hi, Tyler! Thanks by the way for the comment. Really appreciate it. I have fun fixing and doing some modifications. I have also tried some and removed them quickly because I changed my mind. 😜
And yes! I am actually thinking of doing it this year for sure. I am going to talk to Grannas Racing about one of their setups. I’m not doing it because the I don’t like the automatic but because I am ready for some change. It’s been almost 6 year and I would like to change it up and experience the car in with a manual transmission. I think it’s gonna be fun! 🤘🏽

@@DriversTherapy awesome! I drove a Factory N/A auto Supra that had a turbo kit and a CD009 transmission swap. Definitely a great transmisison without going to the insanely priced getrag.
Can you give me a link to the kit you mentioned?? Sounds dope!

I’ve also heard the Tremec T56 is great for these swaps.

A simple equation for the Tach signal is (25x/3)hz where x is the cylinder number of the engine.

Wow, I would not call that a simple equation that people just know.

@@DriversTherapy Actually I made that formula myself 😅
      and this is the frequency for each 1000RPM. Like 4 Cylinder has 33.33hz, 66.67hz, 100hz for 1k, 2k, 3k RPM while 6 cylinder has 50hz, 100hz, 150hz...
