Matt Maeson is a generational talent that deserves more recognition.

if you are finding this song at any point in the future, the answer is yes. this was for a reason.
Matts music changed me. Got me through being homeless. Not becoming an addict in hard times like my parents. Keeping my faith in god despite the hard times. Kept me from following through with my suicide plan. I felt like he put my feelings into words in his songs. It made it easier to open up because I got a better understanding of myself through his music. He's clearly my favorite artist! I know every word to every single song. Including his new song blood runs red(it's been on repeat since it was released!). I've been waiting YEARS for him to do a show in Colorado. I'm moving to Oklahoma in a few weeks and I'm just gonna keep waiting and hoping he does a show there!! I am also working on learning all of his songs on guitar but I'm struggling with the strumming the way he does.
Hell yeah! Love to hear stuff like this! Keep on pushing! The release that death will eventually bring will be beautiful. Try some shrooms. Don’t rush it. His music helps me like it helps you!
You know you’re a talented singer/songwriter when you sound just as good and or better live. The guitar, the lyrics, and the singing are all an 11 out of 10!!

His music changed me. The way he moves his audience, singing effortlessly, enjoying what he does in the process. The lyrics, the beat, the tone all blend perfectly. With every strum I could feel what he felt. I envision myself blasting this with my friends in the car, not worrying about a thing. Just enjoying life with the windows down and wind running through our hair. His songs paint a picture in my mind, and even though a lot of it deals with addiction, I envision happy memories (like a light at the end of a tunnel).
My friend showed me Matt Maeson and I wanted to share with the world but she’s one of those people who like to hide artists like this. Don’t be like her! People should be listening to his amazing music!

Man. His music hits me in a way that no other ever has. I found Matt Maeson when I was in the vehicle, on my way to treatment. I will never be able to express just how much his music means to me - all I can say is that he is one of a kind. I love watching him sing. Such a unique and authentic soul.

The picking pattern..👀
It is kinds of a finger pick with a strumming action, it is not so much the actual strings he is picking, because the pattern changes as he cycles through the chords. Yes you will here certain notes picked out of the chords, it is just something you get used to if your willing to learn a little finger picking. But I have done a tab on my channel to help you, not super detailed, but enough if you were not a new player, and be able to finger pick a bit. If you wanna take a minute come check it out.

this one of those songs that blow up 5-10 years after it was made. Kinda like Boo'd up. That song was hella old then look, jam of the summer years later.
Only just ran into this guy; interesting that his live vocal here sounds noticeably higher than in the studio cut, not a criticism because he sounds great, just something I think is kinda interesting. Great song, looks fun to play on guitar.
Yeah that can happen during the mixing process. Rawer vocals are going to sound less polished but good singers like him will still sound good just different. It could also be how it was recorded, some mics pick up high frequencies better and the way the mic is positioned also matters in terms of how well rounded/boomy your voice will sound!
