Incredible, Marc was so ahead of his time, the hair cut is Prince circa 1982/3, track sounds like it could come from Chaos and Disorder, very "I Like It There" in places, listen to those lead guitar improvs and bass. Even the opening scream YEH. Marc had the charisma too. Arrows were aiming for Discos al`a Stones, disco scene was taking over America, still a great band that could knock out a decent rock track, love em.
The Arrows are such a sexy band. They really far exceed the image. I am glad they went on to do more of what they wanted, away from the record company but it is so sad they didn't get proper airplay. I love them though. They get their name out there now though thanks to youtube. :D
What cant the super talented Alan Merrill play ,so clever.Must have been playing instruments from age of toddler WOW.Amazing and beautiful and so confident xxxxx.LOV ARROWS
Arrows didn't have a choice but to go "teenybopper" after signing the RAK contract. The RAK label picked why they recorded, wore and what magazines they appeared in. The band didn't get a real shot at showing what they were like until they wrote and released "I love rock n roll" in 1975. But the label didn't back the record. In the end, frustrated, they refused to record more pop records and as a result got no records released during their 1976 weekly TV series, that's what integrity gets you.
Right - "Moving Next Door To You" could have been covered by Al Green. After the Arrows broke up singer Alan Merrill wrote songs that were album title tracks covered by soul singers like Lou Rawls and Freddie Scott. Who from the British 70s pop scene can make the same claim? Certainly not Sparks or the Bay City Rollers.
@jeepsterrr They would have been far worse off with the sound men, who were not equipped to record and broadcast live bands. That's the main reason why people would mime back then.
These dudes had something going for them, not the least their looks ofcourse. They shouldn't have gone so overtly 'teenybopper',but more like Sparks;then they probably would've been taken more seriously.Especialy by the British rock press at the time, who spat on 'Bay City Rollers' wannabees, although these guys had far more spunk ofcourse.
The Arrows record label sequestered them into the teen market. They rebelled and as a result their label black listed them and then they were the only band in history to have hits in 1974 and '75 BEFORE their TV series and no records out at all during the actual TV shows in 1976. - But they also wrote and recorded the original version of "I Love Rock N Roll." Something a band like the Bay City Rollers could never do. The Arrows label's lack of enthusiasm for that song in 1975 was the start of the band's rebellion. It cost them a career but historically they still have "I Love Rock n Roll" to show for it. Not shabby for a band that had recorded material out for only 19 months.
Arrows were under the iron fist of Mickie Most, their mentor, producer, record company owner, publisher. They could only do what Mickie told them or it was the end for the band. They rebelled around this time and it was in fact the end. The band had no records out at all during their TV series, for all of 1976 save for one ballad (Once Upon A Time) that was out 2 months before their first TV show aired. They had no new recordings released during both of their TV series, 28 shows, an anomaly absolutely unique in the music business.
I swear this man had the sweetest smile ever,

by 1974 radio stations stopped playing t.rex so record sales were poor.
Marc is brilliant, he was new wave before new wave hit the scene. Brilliant.

Like how he can sing his own backing vocals along with his lead vocals... and all without a mic!
I like it ! take it just like an enjoyable moment !
Nice, two in a row!!
Adoro, Marc para sempre
"Moving Next Door To You" the song at the end of this clip by the Arrows is used in recent episodes of "Homes Under The Hammer" (BBC UK)
That TV show used the Arrows "we can make it together" too.
#keepalittleMarcinyourheart 💜
i like the song
They're both great songs. IMO.
Me too. Arrows song "Moving Next Door To You" has been on TV lately on Homes Under The Hammer (BBC).

Where is that Les Paul? Looks sooo cooool!
♥ Alan ♥ :D
Didn't June (Marc's wife) have a relationship and chld with a member of the Arrows? I wonder if this appearance was awkward for either of them?
tell more
Yes and yes.
Yes, actually she had a child with Paul, the Arrows drummer.
I think it was the drummer, who gave Marc an acknowledgement. One of the guys was married to lorna luft, just garlands daughter.
The Arrows lead singer was dating MacKenzie Phillips in 1976 as well.

You want Les Pauls Jake had the absolute best, blonde with Humbuckers. Dirty sound.
Ya know this is a recording
I totally agree. Playback is poxy.
3:40 Ozzy?
Funny, Ozzy's wife Sharon was at Paul's place often when Paul
was June Bolan's boyfriend.
4:12 DLR?
Much better that DLR. Better looking, better singer.
0:12 robert wells?
Yeah, In an abstract vague sort of way.
