I can use this under and/or over epoxy resin, right? To make sure colored epoxy doesn’t bleed into the surrounding wood and stain it (if I’m filling a crack or hole with epoxy with black mica powder). And would I be able to put it over epoxy that’s cured and only in cracks/holes?

Great question. We don't recommend epoxy over but it is fine to go over epoxy. As long as the epoxy is totally off gassed.

That answered most of my questions...one more question..if I'm making cutting baords with pl purple heart and maple and walnut of whatever...if I use sanding sealer around 400 and let it sit overnight..then re sand at same grit to whatever rim happy with, can I then add mineral oil or whatever wood oil I want on top and be food safe or a good finish? I made a board a few weeks ago and the paduak and purple heart got darker and lighter woods got duller as well. I'm trying to eliminate that. So if sanding sealer seals wood grain in and I then use and wood oil will it keep the vibrant colors of the wood or will it still become dull? In between sanding I wipe off dust and use air compressor to remove dust.

Hey. Thank you for the question. Keep in mind that when using our Sanding Sealer your oils will have a hard time penetrating the wood. It will sit on top of the sanding sealer. The colors won't really come to life till a too coat is applied like our Brite Tone or Extreme Protection. Which work great for serving boards bit may not be the best choice for cutting boards due to the damage that may happen with a sharp knife cutting into the finish. I hope this helps.

@@crystalacofficial thank you. Not sure. I'll try it out and see what happens. I have a board that still bleeds if you wipe it off.

Is your Knot Shellac product basically the same without the amber tint? Can I use it in the same applications?

    • @crystalacofficial

It's Knot Shellac has a built in tannin blocker to seal the wood especially when painting with light colors, and doesn't have the amber tone added to accent the natural grain patterns. Hope this helps.

Can this product be used on hardwoods like teak? And can you apply, lets say teak oil after sand sealer application? Thanks!

Good morning. Sanding Sealer will penetrate and seal the wood while adding a slight amber tint to the teak. We have several customers that use our Sanding Sealer in combination with our Satin CrabCoat marine finish. Are you using it on an exterior project?

Can i spray lacquer on top of this sanding sealer?

We always recommend testing on a scrap. I don't think you would need the sanding sealer since you are using a solvent based lacquer.

Hey there and great question. All of our products being waterbased we recommend above 68 degrees when applying and while the product is drying.

What type of resin are you using, are you wanting to mix it in the resin or apply over a resin?
