The MC barely speaks in the game but the lines “pillage him Satanael!” Followed by “Begone” are probably the most badass lines I’ve heard from a video game character.

Imagine this. Joker gets an update, about half-way through Smash's life cycle and well past when Persona 5's endings would be considered spoilers, which introduces a new ability simply named "The Harbinger of Rebellion". When a battle starts to look dire, with Joker looking like he's about to lose, all characters on screen will look up to see a giant satanael floating down-- Joker's mask turning into a distinct red flame. Satanael would take up the entire background and essentially act as arsene does, but grants quadruple damage output at the cost of his grapple ability. But there's more to this-- Before a player is knocked out of the game, and they reach a certain point, Satanael will shoot them with sinful shell sending them into the knockout area. The effect would have to be toned down a bit, but its an idea that I never said would be balanced.

I love how while Yaldabaoth rises into the sky, Satanael falls from the sky. And the fact Satanael is a fallen angel makes it even more symbolic. Also I like to think that Satanael's sinful shell was made of Yaldabaoth's own sins. Because even though Yaldabaoth paints himself as god, in gnostic tradition Yaldabaoth created man in his own flawed image. The sins of the creator are the sins of the masses. So maybe Satanael was so big because of Yaldabaoth's own imperfections.
I dunno if this was intentional, but I find it really awesome how Arsene refers to itself as the "Pillager of Twilight" and, when he becomes Satanael, Joker calls "Pillage him... SATANAEL!"
It was intentional. When you summon Satanael what you do are shown is Joker destroying Arsene's chains. Basically, Satanael was Joker's Persona all along and Arsene was just his sealed form. It helps explain why he always looked like a demon.
Wow that is way too easy to miss. Atlas is a company that puts a lot of hard work and effort to make their games really well. I didn't expect they'd follow up on small dialogue texts so professionally.
Literally everything about the end of the final boss was amazing. Facing a god, only to inevitably fall, until the voices who had once forgotten you begin to slowly remember the thieves they once called criminals, and begin to give you their encouragement, as well as your closest confidants. Then awakening to the power of Satanael, taking your aim... And blasting a bullet through the head of a god. Jeezum, this game was incredible.
@@carnagewolf1 Were they really. Nyx was just a case of sealing her. Just self-sacrifice. Plus Nyx was answering humanity's wish to begin with so humanity itself was at fault. Izanami was more self-satisfaction than anything else. They wanted to reveal the last truth (that Izanami manipulated the entire chain of events) and all they did was prove their worth and pass her test. Izanami didn't hate humanity, just found thought of them as children ignorant and easy to fool themselves. Joker faced a "god" who was 100% intent on killing him and had absolutely no love for humanity, just prideful disdain at how "inferior" humanity was. The other two fights were good, but if we're talking about feeling good for stomping their face to the pavement,I'd say the one that truly delivers is this one. After all,for once we are actually defeating an irredeemable asshole.
Wish I could have made the loop better as the track deserves it. I spent several hours trying to find a good looping point but gave up and left it like this, so I totally understand why the dislikes are there. I will try to make an improved loop during the weekend and we'll see how that ends up! Edit: I've given up on trying to make this better as it's turning out be very time consuming. This is because the tone is always diffrent so it becomes very difficult to find a point where the loop becomes seamless and not jarring. Instead I will be uploading a 15~ minute version of "the whims of fate" & "when my mother was there". I urge anyone who has more experience with this than I do to make a better extension!

I heard this game before playing the game, and throughout the whole 120 or so hours, I was wondering when this would actually play. I heard it was during the final boss, but even when I got there, it didn't play immediately. BUT WHEN IT DID, BOY I WAS NOT EXPECTING THAT TO HAPPEN
I know I’m late but man I really wish you kept the best part of the song. The calm at the end is by far the best part. Just standing there with your destiny in your hands and just being in total silence and awe as you think about what has happened, what is happening, and what will happen. It’s such a perfect moment to just sit there and watch. I always find it hard to pull the trigger in that moment.
It’s at the end of the video, also you mentioned pulling the trigger at that point of the song, what I find better is to shoot at around (10:02, or the fifth dada-da da da from 9:41) so that the shot of the hole on yaldabaoth’s face styncs with the music, it’s actually easy to get it right if you go through the dialogue at a normal pace
I first fought Yaldaboath at LV 66, and he took the joy out of me.... After busting my Ass off and grinding to level 85, I finally beat him, and when this theme played and Satanael showed up, I had tears streaming down my eyes.... I was crying because my hard work finally paid off, and I was in awe of what transpired. I have never invested so much emotion and time into a video game until I played Persona 5. Wish I could change experiences with you, I loved the velvet room and mementos so I got to Yaldabaoth at level 85 and with level 90 personas and that took the joy out of the fight for me, if I could’ve done it at a much lower level, using every party member, and using all items gathered through the playthrough (never once used a soma) it would’ve been so much fun
There already exists a 15 minute extension of awakening by the channel "Vincent Nygma", I see no reason to make another one as the one that they made is pretty good.

Well, in MegaTen Games, Satan and Lucifer are treated as entirely separate characters. Lucifer is the Leader of the Chaos Faction in Megami Tensei Games, and Satan is just a normally-used Demon that was actually important to a MegaTen Game like...twice?

Wish I could change experiences with you, I loved the velvet room and mementos so I got to Yaldabaoth at level 85 and with level 90 personas and that took the joy out of the fight for me, if I could’ve done it at a much lower level, using every party member, and using all items gathered through the playthrough (never once used a soma) it would’ve been so much fun
