For the most part, the only characters ever even hinted at being gay (flamboyant behavior, extravagant musical numbers) are the villains. This fed into the stereotype that gay people are predatory and all of that, so in the end that did more harm than good, but even those villains weren't actually described as gay outright, they just embodied stereotypes about gay people.
Tbh this room of 50 random characters have more depth than some movies recently from Disney. They haven't said any lines of dialogue hardly and I'm interested more in their backstories.

Heh, I remember my brother telling me about when one of his teachers experienced something similar to 1:31 - 1:42, when he was at a restaurant with his pregnant wife and a lady sitting near them was smoking; the teacher told the lady that she shouldn't be smoking so close to a pregnant woman, but the lady just blew smoke in his face, said "Everybody smokes!" and laughed. I like how Basil drops his tough Cockney voice when he says "...of Ratigan!" at 2:35.
Apparently, that smoking lady was such a jerk to your brother's teacher and news flash to that jerk of a lady; not everyone smokes. But you probably already knew that anyway.

The stagehands in the Rat Trap certainly clean up the stage fast; there's no sign of the debris and rotten vegetables in the two seconds it takes for the dancing girl act to start.

The octopus 🐙 finishes and catches his three balls in his hat and bows apparently very surprised to hear the applause 👏 coming from Dawson but Katie stops him for clapping the rest of the pub booed at the cephalopod and quickly drown him out. Dawson nodded and then she looks around and she wishes that the rat trap was nice spotless and clean 🧼 and then she closed her eyes day dreaming about when Basil and her on a beautiful date they laugh and sat on the chairs 🪑 and talking and eating 🍽 and then the music was playing and they began to dance and they took a romantic walk to the park as they almost going to kiss 💋 Katie’s day dream was interrupted by Basil who just shock her. Basil:miss Katie are you alright? Katie:huh? Oh um yes Basil I’m fine I’m just fine i just wish…that the rat trap would be nice spotless and clean and i was just thinking of something Basil looks at her Basil:like what? Basil opens the door. it certainly was a seedy pub where clearly every lowlife in London has gathered. The mice are all smoking playing poker or drinking at the bar. Some are passing out from amount of alcohol they’ve drunk. Katie did not like the look of it Katie: ugh i don’t like it when they are drunked i just wish they could drink healthy water 💧 or lemonade or my favorite drink Hawaiian 🌺 punch once a month? Some are passing out from amount of alcohol they’ve drunk. Katie did not like the look of it Katie: ugh i don’t like it when they are drunked i just wish they could drink healthy water 💧 or lemonade or my favorite drink Hawaiian 🌺 punch once a month? Katie:i don’t like this place Basil is filled with suspicious mice and they are drunk and they drink beer 🍺 and i don’t like it not one pit.Basil conferred her to calm her down and focus on finding ratigan.
