- The Lost Souls version of "Calm Me Down" is a tribute to The Human Expression who played a massive role as pioneers of the psychedelic sound in the mid 60s.
"Calm Me Down" was released on The Human Expression's second single, “Optical Sound”, in the “Summer of Love”. The band's edgy bad boy image was the antithesis of the “flower-children” image so prevalent for groups in 1967.
This video was edited with public domain footage of an anti-drug PSA from the 60s, showcasing the effects and dangers of drug use.

I’m a 64 year old teenage punk who grew up on a steady diet of the Blues Magoos, Shadows of Knight, The Standells, Seeds, Count V, Syndicate of Sound, and millions of other great bands from 1964-67 and I’m giving the Lost Souls a thumbs up! Great version! Keep up the good work!
🙏thank you
You’re very welcome!
