I am an artist and I've been asked that too by gallery owners and when I showed them some white people I painted in my portfolio - they were like, "Okay", but I still didn't pass their test.

I wish they would’ve chosen a different artist for Michelle Obama’s portrait. It is objectively not great, which is a shame because President Obama’s portrait is so beautiful.

That’s your opinion but I felt the same way compared to Obama’s portrait. I guess it’s not our likable style. But after looking at it again, it’s the background is too light, maybe a forest green would have bought it out more.
