Very good video, and I agree on most points - but I can't seem to make a move to Apple Notes - just not robust enough, and Apple Notes Tags are lackluster. I've used Evernote since 2018, and its tag management is just far supplier, so I still can't take the full plunge to Apple Notes. Further, extracting large bits of info out of Apple Notes is not easy, so another "sticky" part of the Apple Ecosystem as the more you put into Apple Notes, the more difficult it's going to be to get away from it. Where many other not apps allow for a more streamlined approach to exporting notes should once wish to use another Not App. All said, great video. Thank you!
I sort of agree. I used Evernote, but I cannot get over the pricing anymore. I do like how Apple Notes hands handwriting compared to Evernote. Evernote has some robust features, but that is a hefty price for a notes app.
yep i use these three and they work really well with the ecosystem. however in my personal usage, integrating apple calendar with google tasks/calendar would be the all rounder, in most of devices today.
He’s not saying that Apple make the best app in every category, just that there are huge advantages to being in the Apple ecosystem across all devices.
Great video. I wish samsung integrated like apple. And I wish the google task had natural language. Quick question: Have you used the apple password even though you have keeper?
Honestly, I haven't used Apple password. I think it's a case of, if it's not broken, don't fix it. And I know this video is sponsored by Keeper so I might be slightly biased, but I have no reason to switch away from them.
@@Flakitonica i like both, but looking is subjective so i understand. But let’s be honest, if todoist doesn’t have cross platforming , no one smart enough should use it and leave reminders since it’s free. That’s the case with things 3 . Why I should pay + stuck in apple system with no big difference practically than apple reminders ? No thanks
I keep dozens of checklists in Reminders I would never want in my calendar. Shopping and errand lists for things I need from store type (crafts vs grocers vs big box vs home maintenance supply…), packing lists for camping vs vacations or other purposes, stuff (symptoms etc.) I want to tell my doctors at my next appointment…
Very very different. A calendar entry is a task that you need to keep with someone else, on a day, at a place that starts at one time and ends at another. A reminder is usually just something for you (if not, put it in the calendar) may just be “Buy toothpaste”. Or it may be a task comprising 17 steps, each of different priorities, that you want to be notified of when you to a particular place or message a particular friend. A reminder exists in a list - shopping, home tasks, work tasks, personal health, car tasks, gardening, clothing lists and so on. They are two different apps with two very different uses with a small degree of overlap - the only reason a reminder may end up in the Calendar (in iOS18 onward) is if it must be done on a certain day (post a birthday card tomorrow at the latest or it won’t get there).
My only real issue with Apple Notes is changing the color of text. Apple still uses that weird, archaic interface that I think goes back to MacOS 9. 😂 And, you cannot natively change text color on an iPad or iPhone - only on a Mac which is annoying as heck!
You talked about the "Apple Ecosystem" but then mention that you use a 3rd party password manager when Apple has one natively-what's your take on Apple Passwords app?
It’s a real pity that Mail isn’t good enough to enable reliable and easy linking to any of these Apps. For example, when receive a ticket or some information in an email, from which Siri doesn’t pick up the time data, you don’t seem to be able to link that email to a reminder or a calendar entry without some really dreadful work-arounds.
All of these can already be done in the Google's productivity apps Keep, Tasks and Calendar. All of them sync and you don't need Apple hardware for this.
Good point. I'm deeply entrenched in Apple's Ecosystem so of course I'm going to make a video on Apple's apps, but I'm sure Google have similar alternatives that work just as well.
Google is notorious for sunsetting apps. Not sure I’d trust them not to kill off my productivity system overnight. The point of the video is if you’ve already got Apple devices then many people won’t need to install extra apps to do all this
@waschbaerkaiser Not trying to argue but I do own Apple devices and Google as a service is available on every device, so it's easier to switch devices 🤷🏻♂️
I use Apple Notes to prepare my meetings. I would like to “attach” this meeting preparation note to my event in Apple calendar. But it seems impossible to link the note into the event (URL, note filed). I assume it would be possible if I could find the “hyperlink / deep link” to the note (to always have the last version of the note). I don’t mean the icloud… link because that only works being online. I mean something like the URL scheme to the note. Do you know how I can get that kind of link? Thank you in advance.

For GTD style reminders I use sections to break reminders up into context groups, errands, at computer, at home, etc
This is the video I need! but your cat always distrub my focus 😂
"Use these Apple apps because they're native and integrated, but ignore the native Passwords app, and use this other thing instead." 🤷♂
Yeah, ignored everything else at that point. I'm sick of shills. TH-cam has become cancer.

Awesome info and your Ragdoll is so cool. I have one too and love seeing them.
I miss my Ragdoll! He was the best, and had the same colors!
Video itself is informative 👍 but there is ONE in your back who’s stolen the show❤
Can you share how you pair your gym workouts w reminders app?
Great video, made more entertaining by your cat!
After telling me to use apple ecosystem which has probably the best password manager

These three , is enough for like 95% of the ppl . Just wish if reminder has better “Natural language” input like todoist .
Todoist is a bad looking app design. All apps should look like things 3 that’s a gorgeous app but missing some features
@@Flakitonica i like both, but looking is subjective so i understand.

can apple reminders filter keywords with no #. Similar to Todoist
Para la proxima visita a Piñones es mas barato ahi te costo eso por que es mega turistico
I went to the next step to simplicity. Reminders feels extra once mastering calendar and notes
@ I keep those in Notes. But either way is fine as we all have different coping methods. 😇

Unfortunately the Reminders app really feels clunky compared to Things3. It’s not really integrated in Notes either. I do love Notes!
Things3 is an app you have to buy. What do you mean about Reminders that “it’s not really integrated in Notes”?
I have a project board set up in reminders with links to the relevant note for each one - what’s not integrated about that?
My only real issue with Apple Notes is changing the color of text. Apple still uses that weird, archaic interface that I think goes back to MacOS 9. 😂 And, you cannot natively change text color on an iPad or iPhone - only on a Mac which is annoying as heck!
Very true! Apple Notes is very simple. Sometimes, a little too simple. But we can't have it all ;)
In Notes on iPad, select your text, tap ‘Aa’ at the top then select one of the 5 colours. Done.

I assume Apple Intelligence will understand context and do what you mentioned when it's fully released.
Would only need 2 apps if you could just add reminders in notes like Google Keep. Seems pretty-historic tech wise

Lots of words and not much substance. Too bad.
