That looks like good stuff. I'm about to help my son build his first AR, and the BCG is the last piece he needs. This is going to have to be looked at as an option!
Dude you have to be the most down to earth boss in the gun industry. I see you all over the forums and now here lol now if I could only land a job at Forward Controls 🤣
Have you notificed variances in NP3 coating amongst BCGs even from the same manufacturer? I have 3 NP3 BCGs from Triarc. One that came with my first rifle from them and 2 that came with my second rifle (I ordered a spare). The first one looks much like the one in the video. The other two the finish is still very smooth but not as slick as the first and they are much more matte grey. The light reflects minimally compared to the first and the one in this video. Awesome video. Thanks
I’m needing some help in the use of the iGaging tool, I see at the end, you have an additional piece to allowing you to measure protrusion of the firing pin. Is the piece purchase or did you fabricated it? I bought from eBay both the caliper and circular gauging tool. Help needed, thank you!
I don't believe any of the top 5 or 10 mfg bcg are better than the other.Snobs think the more they pay the more they get.For example a Porsche owner thinks his car is superior to a Corvette zr1 until the Vette embarrasses him on the track.Colts,DD,Bcm ect are as good and most of the time better than the boutique pretty bcgs.
Chad. I would like to send you my Radian BCG for a video one of these days. It's awesome to see these videos. One can go solely off of Facebook recommendations for parts, but there will always be that wonder left behind. The wonder of did I really choose a good partner did I just buy the brand that got the most comments.
DS ARMS has NP3 sand-cut BCG that runs $130. Cheapest BCG I've seen with an teflon coating, and wonder how it compares to Forward Control Designs' NP3 SBCG.
Same, Sionics np3 is $160 on sale... curious how all these compare -- people are gonna have to start sending in their BCG so we can get true comparisons!
Shows how tight it will be around the support neck of the bolt, the gas rings, and the tail of the bolt.. a tighter neck means more solid lock up, a tighter tail means less gas seepage through the tail end of the gas chamber area ect
More green means more consistent gas/back pressure thus eliminating the BCG from hindering the barrel and ammo’s accuracy capabilities. Assuming the barrel and ammo is perfectly consistent and the gun never moves while fired, the rounds on target will be more consistently placed with a tighter seal. But we are talking about tiny variances that only matter in competition shooting (in compared to a passing yellow bcg).
When tolerances are so tight, I understand firing is most efficient, however is there a chance that that might cause more jamming or wear? Sorry Im a noob at this stuff, just wondering! Nice BCG!
Thank you so much Chad for doing the physical on our SBCG! :)

Anything FCD is top notch quality!

Glad you didn’t quit posting.
Great video, and thanks to your lady for helping out and increasing the production value!
Not sure why YT would recommend this video a year later but I'm glad it did. Looking at Sionics bcg for my next build.

Dude this is really really good. Fcd has awesome products and service. I wish it was phosphate
Is phosphate better?
@@narutobroken No, phosphate is garbage compared to NP3.
Why? NP3 is a billion times better than phosphate.
I enjoy your physicals videos almost as much as your autopsies. I'm such a rifle nerd.
How about diameter across the contact ribs on the bolt ?
How about actual dimension specifications posted in your notes ?
Love the details!
Why does installing the cam pin the same way reduce wear?
I’d like to see an Aero BCG tested.
Think their carriers are made by Toolcraft, but I’m not sure.
I would also. Was hoping he would have done one already 😔
The things I would do for a dimpled version, I got the next best thing...Sionics NP3
Everything I have that's from FCD is of the utmost quality

I fabricated that piece. As they are sold they won't work for na AR15 Bolt.
Would love to see a Young’s Mfg BCG Physical 👍🏻
He had two videos on young’s, both are doing 2 each
I'll bet this BCG is better than the KAC sandcutter BCG you did a vid on

@@realisrealite5554 lets see some data.
I would love to get one of Sionics BCG but I can never seem to find them. Catching one from FCD is hard as well
IIRC this is the first BCG to NOT allow a yellow in the bolt area / gas area -- SUPER gas efficient???
would like to see you do a toolcraft BCG physical.
He did a toolcraft nickel boron

Radian makes great stuff.
Yeah, I wouldn’t worry about Radian, damn good company and their QC is 👌
Have you done a solgw bolt breakdown?
Can you explain why you like to take out the 0 ring??
If you mean the o ring around the extractor spring, it’s not necessary with a good spring.

The DS Arms is not even close to the FCD. I have observed horrible Q.C. from the DS Arms Sandcuttters.
School of the American Rifle What experience do you have with other DS Arms AR parts?
Love these videos, thank you! Have you done a physical on a PSA nickel boron bcg?
SOTAR is legit💪🏾💪🏾
How import is three-bore efficiency? I'm seeing other high-end BCGs like the KAC pass the yellow gauges.

i'd like to see a SOLGW bcg done
Ditto
Agreed

No
Yes.
The range of acceptable tolerances attempts to maintain a good balance of accuracy and reliability.
These are great bcg, but goid luck finding one in stock haha🦆🦆🦆
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
My Fancy has been tickled.
I know what Gucci BCG I’m gonna buy should I choose to drop $200+ on a BCG.
OCKS said NOPE!
