E36 is much beter and for older car is much respectable car. And very close two win👌
You can really see how much better throttle response older cars have. Not just turbo vs NA, also how much modern drive by wire filter your input and makes it so flooring slowly applies throttle.
Yeah and the only easy solution to that is getting things like JB4s in which to be honest, isn't very appealing given as to how much of a difference it makes.

You obviously haven't driven high end turbo/newish auto gearbox cars, response is instant and way quicker than any 20 year old NA car

If the BMW had 275 hp, it would destroy the Hyundai. With technology from 1993 that is...

Love the E36. My uncles 325i was the car that really made me fall in love with BMW, the E36 was the first car I bought at 18 with money I earned myself and it's the car that makes me realize how much BMW is watering down their own brand nowadays...
I'm turning 18 soon, wish I had enough money to buy stuff like that in my country :(
That is stunning performance from the BMW considering how old it is 👏
Daanish Waseem I know it’s not all that heavily modified but it still was modified, if it was stock the race wouldn’t have been close. It look and sounds better than the Hyundai tho
That BMW is extremely impressive against a brand new modern hot hatch. I was expecting the Hyundai to leave it in the dust.
@Vinny Booboo yeah, from an 325i intake that costs 50£ Thats all it takes to get that engine to 220. Ad a remap for smoother power curve

Lukas Gröndahl in your opinion. i’m just gonna say that.
Lukas Gröndahl the look of this car is just those kind that doesn’t get boring to look at. after all the years and it still look sharp. that’s enough for me to keep liking the car.
Lukas Gröndahl all their is to the modern coupe is that they have a rounder body and a more sharp body line and has more aggressive front face + better lights and lots of grille. after all that’s about it for the outside.
That MPG needle of the beemer disappears instantly when you floor it 😂 love that shit 👍
The last models of the 328 pushed out just under 223hp standard. I have one of them. And with the 325 manifold on it does 252hp, no remapping.
Then swopped the diff out with a 318 which dropped the top end from 278kph down to 245kph but did 0 - 100 kph in under 5 seconds with only those changes. Not bad for a 23 year old car.

Geez these people on here...minds are so one sides and narrow minded. Half the people on here don’t know what their talking about without even experiencing any of it...I had 3 generations of M3’s and still own one. But i’ve also driven the i30N recently. For the money, it’s a bang for buck fun car. This is why there are ao many good reviews of it. You people should judge after you actually experience both cars. Of course BMW’s are nicer cars. But BMW’s and it’s brand is way more expensive??? Hello?? And their reliability are not too great either after few years... must give Hyundai credit for building a car like the i30N. It’s a good effort by them at that price point. Keep up the good work Hyundai. Look forward for more cars like this in the future.
I have an E36 325i which is 25 years old and doesn't skip a beat. I don't think you'll see a modern Hyundai last 10 years nevermind 25 years. Older cars can be extremely reliable compared to modern cars but most cars are on finance today so after a few years people change to a newer one. Don't get me wrong they've done a great job making a Hyundai as fun as this one but in my experience older cars will last much longer.
At the end of the day the i30N is a dashboard shaker, not interested.
Sorry Hyundai's do last a while longer than you think..
But people care less for Hyundai's
