This kind of thinking is severely lacking in the Church. Far too many Christians prefer to grapple with Trump or Hillary... rather than to wrestle with the Word and study to show themselves approved unto God. The false security of a limping economy is the chief concern of way too many individuals when the foundations of economics are rotting. My prayer is for the multiplication of students who care about the Great Commission - disciples who realize the importance of the Lord's words "Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth"
This is about Judaeo-Christianity and Judaeo-Christian culture, not about the Gospel or the actual righteousness of God which is found only in the Eternal Word who became flesh, was crucified, dead and buried and rose again, ascended into heaven and governs by his Spirit. This is a comparative culture lesson and a comparative religions lesson the actual "mechanism" of grace is not its subject. "Christianity brought about ..." does not tell what Christian is, it tells you what may or may not have been the fruits of what may or may not have been the preaching of the Gospel. With regard to the culture and cultures thought to have emerged from "Christianity" it is wise to consider them as expressions in response to certain respective perceptions of what Christian means and what the Gospel is, and there are various perceptions for both. There is nothing righteous in any Christian cultural sense (as response per se) other than the gracious ascription of our Lord's righteousness, and this means there is nothing worthy of knowing "among you but Jesus Christ and Him crucified" if we are to deal with the heart and soul human existence and of the work of the risen and ascendedLord. Christian culture does not save. The righteousness of God in a community is Christ. The letter is still only the letter. The wisdom of Christian cultural rationalism falls far short of the wisdom of God in Christ. I am a gentile grafted into Christ. Unfortunately, "Christianity as culture" has done enormous damage in the world also, and I think that is worth noting at least in order that the testimony might be to Jesus Christ rather than to "Christianity" and Christians and Christian obedience to templates, what ever they may be.
Thank you for preparing and publishing these lectures on the internet. The remnant will be led to them.
God bless you vishal... please how do I link up with you?
