Amen and Amen. God has got enough grateful children to support His works. As grateful children we give with a cheerful heart. Praise the Lord for enabling His children to be givers who give cheerfully.

The best interpretation of giving that I have come across. Thank you Brother Zac Poonen for this.

So many pastors have squeezed people in the name of tithe. Even the poor are not spared

I really appreciate your message. In my Bible, i chose to learn even from the instructions Christ gave in Matthew 23v23. He said Justice, faith and mercy without leaving out tithing. That's a clear instruction in there. Tithing is the least i give to Christ my High Priest, i don't care what anyone says about tithing. I'll keep tithing until i get to Heaven by the grace of God. Let me tithe and get to Heaven and be told it it unnecessary, rather than not tithing and be told it was necessary.
    1. In my Bible, tithing predates the law. Gen 14v20. Leviticus 27v30
    2. In my Bible, Abraham who is of faith gave tithe. Gen 14v20
    3. In my Bible, Melchizedek who is the King of Righteousness and predates the law didn't object or reject the receiving of tithe but accepted it even after offering Abraham bread and wine (a type of Holy Communion, signifying Christ's Sacrifice). Gen 14v20, Hebrews 7v6
    4. In my Bible, the Priesthood of my Lord Jesus Christ, whose I am and whom I serve, had an oath of God Almighty that His Priesthood is after the Priesthood of Melchizedek who received tithe. Psalm 110v4, Hebrews 7v1-8, 6v20.
On the 4 truths revealed above and more which I have found out, I am personally convinced beyond all doubts and teaching of any man with and without respect to their personal beliefs and teachings on tithe, as for me, till Christ my Lord comes, I have no other choice whatsoever than to tithe.
Secondly, as a steward, whatever I have, was given/entrusted to me by God to manage. So I emulate our beloved brother king David who went to wars and gave God all the spoils of wars. Same way am working my way to the top in my giving commitment to my Lord.
Anyone has right to say whatever it is that they want, they are entitled to their view but for me and my house, we must not only pay tithes and offerings but do much more than tithing. The highest I have done so far, for the purpose of learning only is a tenth plus 50% of my income once. And am looking forward to when I can give all like king David did.
Lastly, if we take time to discuss something as little as tithing, when men like me, king David, gave over 200 billion US dollars, yes over 200 US dollars to God, you will see that we are very far.
I feel really sorry for many applauding no spelt financial commitment to our Lord and His Kingdom, the least the Bible mentions they reject it, yet they oblige their finances to self. We will all give account to our Lord Christ soon.
    God bless you.

Fully agree with your arguments for tithing - in the NT tithing is not explicit but implicit as in mt 23: 23 - God prescribed how worship must be done and nothing left to man - must He now leave the worship of giving to man? This will then become subjective and therefore set a precedent to other requirements of worship leading to holiness - this form of reasoning that the NT said nothing about tithing is not a good argument - the gay community uses this line when they say Jesus said nothing explicitly about homosexuality but it is implicit when He said Mat 19:5 and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’?

There is no priesthood to support also the there was no transfer of the command from the priests to the apostles , it has to be a legal change and not inferred.

Tithe : How much you give
Cheerful giver : don't give less than your tithe..!
Pr.. Zac. God never told to any one to give tithe in the old testament. Yet tithe was given to God as the standard when return back to from the Genesis. Since you are scholar I don't want to teach you. But plain truth can't be jeopardise with popular theology..!

2nd Cor. 9:6,7. Perhaps, you missed this, when misinterpreting ‼️😭
    The Cheerful Giver
6 The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully[a] will also reap bountifully. 7 Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

      So should we tithe 10%?
