Finding Nemo probably deserves more recognition here. They animated an underwater environment. In the early 00s that was an insane achievement
I can't believe they entirely left it off. There are only two flaws with Finding Nemo, both of which are minor
1. Takes place in Australia but only 10% of the characters sound Aussie
2. The dentist's office is located where the zoo is
They animated it SO well that in test screenings audiences couldn't tell apart the real footage from the animated, so they were told to scale it back and make it look less realistic.

Not gonna lie, Puss and Boots: The Last Wish is an unexpected masterpiece!

I was so bored watching the original. Took my son to the cinema and I loved it more than the kids. Even told my parent friends it was a must see.
Can't doubt that, legit my favorite movie since 2010 and the Pandamic happened.

The Last Wish was even better than the original movie. It doesn't talk down to its target audience, and realistically depicts panic attacks. Take notes, Velma!

The How to Train your Dragon Trilogy, it was fun watching Hiccup grow up with Toothless. What made these movie so great is despite the fact it had 3 movies they never got stale.

I didn’t expect to love The Last Wish as much as I did, but everything about it was amazing. The story, emotional drama, and the fantastic characters all brought it to life in a way I think only Dreamworks could.
Disney will touch your heart, but Studio Ghibli will touch your soul.

Honestly, this should have been a top 50 as there were so many great animated films released this century
The Pus in Boots sequel was absolutely magical. There was so much beauty and life lessons told incredibly well in this film. My son and I were completely blown away by how much we loved it
Spirited Away is still one of the best animated films of all time I mean it was such a game changer and plus it won best animated feature at the Oscar’s

Monsters Inc deserves an honorable mention
They did Pixar dirty in this list. Not denigrating the other films…but to say that freaking *FROZEN* is better than Monsters Inc., Wall-E, Finding Nemo, or my personal favourite “Up” is sinful.

Spider-Man: Across the Spiderverse will be in contention for next year's Oscars... if you're referring to the Academy Awards.
Klaus and Wolfwalkers should've won Oscars too.
I always thought that it was ballsy that they included Hiccup losing a leg after his fight with the dragon. Not only is it realistic, but now he's the same as Toothless, especially since he's the reason that Toothless got hurt to begin with.
Putting Spirited Away at number one is the best descision ever made! ❤

Some of these movies played a huge part in defining out childhoods, The laughs, The cries and the drama these movies had are one of the many things that made it all bearable.
The How to Train Your Dragon trilogy will forever be one of the greatest arcs in animation history. I definitely wish the third one did a little bit better but overall, the story, the music, the characters, and the whole adventure to it all was amazing ❤❤❤

Spider-Verse is one of my favorite animated movies of the century.
Spirited Away is really a beautiful masterpiece of a film. It's messages about educating people while they're children so that they won't have to be punished for their wrongdoings as adults is very powerful one that aren't shoved down the audience's throats or even explicitly stated to the audience. But instead, it naturally weaved into the story and made as part of the film's plot and themes.
Puss in Boots may be the animated movie to exceed the most expectations. The first one was average so no one was thrilled for the sequel but it was so good that it became an instant classic and it's not even necessary to watch the first
The Super Mario Bros Movie - It took neary 30 Years & The company Illumination, but Nintendo finally hit the bullseye & made The Perfect Mario Movie.

i loved zootopia, though its got its flaws i really liked the fallout/zootopia crossover fanfic.
Rango may not have faced much good competition the year it won Best Animated, but it's still one of the GOATs.
The Kung Fu Panda franchise, Shrek, How to train your Dragon, Del Toro's Pinnocchio and Spiderman Into the Spiderverse are my favourites.
Any Studio Ghibli movie is the best! And while I'm not a Spider-man fan, but Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is now my favorite Spider-man film.
YES to Studio GHIBLI!!! Love them!!! Howl's Moving Castle is my absolute favorite with Spirited Away as a very close second.

I mean, Up, which was far better in my opinion wasn’t even an honourable mention. Goes to show you they bottled this list.
One of the reasons I really love Shrek is that it the closest most Americans will get to a traditional British Pantomime. It has the necessary elements: fairy tale turned on its head, modern music integrated into the story, and in Shrek II, even the Dame, seen in Larry King's voice for the Ugly Stepsister.
Seeing two Cartoon Saloon movies in a row makes my Irish pride happy. I actually went to their studio in Kilkenney with a friend of mine years ago, I believe it was when they were still making The Breadwinner. They aren't a big studio, they only had about 100 - 200 animators, incredibly talented with such a stand out style.
Also it kind of hurts that Kung Fu Panda was only an honourable mention. I have yet to watch Spirited Away, anime never really interested me, then again I don't think I've watched much of it, if any at all. I also haven't watched the Miles Morales movies, but i do plan to at some point.
Cartoon Saloon may be a small studio, but it's on its way to becoming a great one, with all its beautiful 2D animation.
If Don Bluth, the legendary 2D animator who made movies in Ireland saw this new studio and its animation, I bet he would be happy to see that his talent has inspired people to carry on, and keep the magic of 2D animation alive.
I just wish Wolfwalkers was on this list.
You should watch Spirited Away, you don't know what you're missing. You may not be into anime, but you should at least try this movie, it's very magical, heart warming, and the animation and music are just so beautiful.
Across the Spider verse is the most beautiful and flawless movie I've ever seen. Hoping and expecting the sequel to keep up with and conclude the major plot points without undoing any of the franchise's world-building

Jurassic Park 3
The _Star Wars_ Prequel Trilogy, controversial when each respective installment was released, would be a good collective pick.
For me it's the weaker mcu infinity saga films after the overhaul of mediocrity to terrible stuff in multiverse sage it made me appreciate things like iron man 2 and thor the dark world

Toy Story 3 is my favorite animated movie of all time, Shrek is still consider one of the best animated movies of all time, Spidrer Man Into the Spider-Verse is the best Spider Man movie of all time next to Spider Man Across the Spider Verse and Ice Age holds a special place in my heart.

Just watched 9 for the first time this morning, and Wall-E for the first time a few months ago. Both should be on here, and ditto for Coco. Captivating visuals and really profound directorial choices that were home runs.
There’s a thousand movies I-would want on the list or switch with others but I can’t argue how great all of these movies are

I LOVE this list Watchmojo!... But I'm kinda disappointed that films like Ratatouille and Zootopia didn't make the list. As well as Across the Spider verse
inexplicably missing: ratatouille, shrek 2, the tale of the princess kaguya, kung fu panda, fantastic mr. fox, wall-e, monsters inc, lilo and stitch.

All of the movies that weren't on, that's definitely SHOULD HAVE BEEN: HTTYD 1, Cars, Ratatouille, Monsters Inc, Bolt, Finding Nemo, The Emperor's New Groove, Lilo and Stitch, UP, WALL-E (granted I didn't like this one but I know the majority of people do), Rango (SEVERELY underrated) and Spiderman Across the Spiderverse though admittedly I couldn't choose between them. There is a HUGE injustice to these films, I hadn't even heard of half of the ones that were on here, some may say if I watch them I'd enjoy them, they may be right on that, but I know I'm not alone when it comes to not knowing some of these

Wasn‘t expecting Last Wish to be that high. That‘s pretty awesome.
It seems the video was only counting one movie from each franchise but Kung Fu Panda 2 and How to Train Your Dragon 1 are better than a few on the list.
Quite good overall though.

How To Train your dragon, Kung fu panda, Toy Story (Counting out the 4th one it sucks) were Incredible! I hope and Spider-Verse has the Opportunity to become at the top of the list if the 3rd movie is a success just like the first and second!

I can think of another movie that can go up against Spirited Away, even though this movie came out in 2004 Howl's Moving Castle and which was also heralded as a Masterpiece of it's time

I'm very pleased that Song of the Sea and (especially) The Breadwinner made this list, but not even an Honorable Mention for Wolfwalkers? Cartoon Saloon's magnum opus and one of the few substantial depictions of female friendship in all of Western animated cinema? What's up with THAT?
Can't argue with Spirited Away as #1, though.
The fact that “Up” is not even considered an honourable mention is a crime against humanity. That deserves to be in the top five at bare minimum, and to call it better than some of the entries on this list is atrocious. Give your heads a shake, your creative team bottled this list.

The two Spider-Verse movies tie as my favorite movies of all time. The How to Train Your Dragon franchise is superb. The first three Toy Story films are amazing (didn't like the fourth). The medium of animation just keeps getting better. So many great options!!
