“English on the front, Japanese on the back” LOL, the hubris! I would bet that it’s the other way. Many/most of the special/super limited Grand Seikos were never supposed to be seen by Western eyes. Casio is doing this with their Oceanus line, Orient Star is doing it some.
I think I can put a Grand Seiko up against a Rolex anytime. Some of the recent Rolex watches QC leaves a lot to be desired at their price point. But of course, Rolex has that cache that Grand Seiko has yet to achieve.
Rolex is just a better investment. Not a better watch. If anyone is spending more than 5k on a watch its value has to be a factor. I think the main thing is that when people are collecting watches they want to have a Rolex. Then maybe a couple years later they go for a grand seiko. I just couldn’t stomach paying $12,000 for an explorer. That watch is like on par with a Hamilton Khaki. Some of their watches are insanely over valued right now. I would kill to have a Daytona though.
I think it is all personal preference. Kevin O’Leary said if you buy a $25,000 grand Seiko you are getting a $75,000 watch. Original retail was 5500 or about, but I’m sure you can’t get one for that. Peace my friend
I was a seiko and a GS fan but not anymore i think the best watches for the money are Vostok and generally Russian watches plus their vintage, for 20-30$ you can buy a Russian manual winding watch that looks perfect and reliable, seiko and GS they are just way overpriced so im not impressed at all.If i have to choose only one watch in my life this would be a Tag Heuer Aquaracer.
Tag is pretty overpriced too for what you get. Plastic inside the case too. I owned an aquaracer about 5 years ago. I loved the style but the quality was extremely subpar.
Nice looking watch. Pity it has already been scratched so much.
Great review. Unbelievable watch, SEIKO IS KING !!!
Couldn't agree more!
Seiko is not. Grand seiko maybe. Regular seiko is pretty much garbage
Congratulations! Let’s go for more watches, keep up the good work

Grand seiko are nice.

Beautiful piece.
What is the retail price?
great review :)
Hey guys i'll bet Maverick likes it alot
Outstanding watch. Thanks for sharing!
Beautiful, the sweep of the second hand is next level. Take the branding off this and a Rolex date just and you know this would smash it.
Rolex is not the top luxury honestly
wow awesome!
How big is your wrist?
wow, first GS on this channel i think?
Fannn-seee!
I wish it didn't have the reserve indicator. Spoils the dial so much.
GS offers several models with the reserve indicator on the back panel. This is an ideal solution for those who can't stand it on the dial.
$7,700 US = $9,000.00 Canadian
Nope, too many other choices for that price

@@5amarillo5 yup, I can't imagine buying a luxury watch based on what Kevin O'leary thinks..
WTF??? seiko is getting lazy. this is a presage cocktail time dial transplanted over to GS!???
Not remotely the same
