I wanted to treat my self on a milestone birthday. I wanted a watch made by hand, which must have great beauty, and be timeless. I purchased a grand seiko hi beat, and Iam thrilled with it. I love the dedication of these craftsmen and women, in the art of perfection. I think it is the most perfect watch I own.
Great documentary about these fabulous watches. My GS is better than any of my Rolex or Omega watches, both in terms of precision and craftsmanship, but also accuracy and design subtlety.
When I decided to treat myself to a nice watch for my mildstone birthday this year, I started with what I known. Rolex and Omega. My son said to look at Grand Seiko. Never heard of the brand. So I went down the rabbit hole on learning all about GS. In the end I walked into a Rolex store and left with my name on a list. Next I walked in a GS AD and walked out with a SBGA415 Spring Drive the same day. Best decision of my life in my journey into luxury watches. Just love the design and sweeping second hand of a Spring Drive. Now I want another.....
Don't buy a GS. It will absolutely spoil you with the features/craftsmanship/high horology at the price point and ruin you on other luxury watches. My Snowflake is on my wrist 24/7 and fills me with a sense of joy, peace, and accomplishment.
Have an SBGV245 in the mail. GS is for people who appreciate the quality for themselves and couldn’t care less whether people recognized it as an exclusive luxury brand or not.
Can't wait to get my child's education savings accumulate enough so I can buy a GS spring drive :) I'm gonna leave it to him anyway. If he's short for tuition then he can sell it if he wants hahaha
That’s both a terrible idea and a great idea 😆😆😆 I agree with you man, GS is the best and I strive to own a Spring Drive Titanium Diver and the Snowflake or the other Winter inspired heritage model. Right now, I’m slumming it out with Citizen, Seiko, and G-Shock. I really can’t complain 😄
They're technically part of the same company, but the short version is this: -Seiko makes solid, practical watches for almost anyone. They can be less than a hundred or several hundred dollars, and they're generally mass-produced. -Grand Seiko is the luxury arm of Seiko's watch division. They put a lot of effort into making them, including hand-carved indices, extra polishing (including Zaratsu, which gives them the mirror shine on the cases), complex and unique dials, and extremely accurate movements. Regular Seikos are still good watches, but they're meant for anyone to enjoy or use. GS watches are intended to be something extra special. They became an independent brand a few years back, which is why recent ones only have the Grand Seiko logo, instead of having both GS and "SEIKO" on the dial like the old ones. I own one myself, the SBGA259, and it's absolutely gorgeous. But I've also got a regular Seiko for your average, everyday stuff. They're both great for their own little niches. Anyway, hope that explains it. Sorry if I rambled a bit, but I guess I'm a bit of a fanboy about them. :)
Higher standard for mortals , seemingly independent authoritaty , spiritual transition , profession and proof . Prayer : loving god supremely, goodness’s portions of god , man reflec god .
It would have been better if they had picked a local Japenese icon like a Samurai or a mythical animal from Japanese culture to represent Grand Seiko than the standing lion which you see in countless European countries' flags and products.
No, not quite fair or accurate on your assertion re. quartz. Quartz, if suitably shaped and hooked up to circuitry, can oscillate at approximately 32kHz.
Wearing my Grand Seiko sitting on the toilet watching this. Life is good
legend!
You won the gold 🏅 with comment so true , I do the same
Yuck

Get a Rolex to impress others - get a Grand Seiko to impress yourself. I went with GS (Quartz) and strive to own a Spring Drive in the future.
Seiko doesn't disappoint Grand Seiko is a great improvement
Nobody can say it better! :-)
Lucky enough to own both now. Both beautiful examples of incredible engineering.
People scoff at the grand seiko quartz pieces without researching it. The 9f movement is simply put the finest quartz movement ever made.
@@terry141186 Citizen might have something to say about that soon.

Grand Seiko is phenomenal. It’s the best.

I didn’t want this to end.
How does this video have less than 7000 views?? this is incredible!
Just regular seiko for me right now, but soon a GS will be mine.
Likewise. I own SARB035, hoping to pickup SBGA407(Skyflake) in a few years time.
Thanks for that great video

Stunning, simply breathtaking.
My Snowflake arrives tomorrow!!
Hope you've enjoyed it. It's an impressive piece with many subtle details. I'd offer the very gentle inwards curve of the case's sides.
GS!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Can someone please tell us what the 8 holes are on a 9F movement? Beginning to think they’re just cosmetic.
It would be nice if the next Grand Seiko Spring Drive chronograph adds a flyback function too. That would be the icing on the cake.

Huge watermarks......what a waste....moving on to others youtubes .............
GS's design is too boring, almost every piece looks the same, it's time to change their designers
