Another great video on youtube thats up this alley is the Necrophagia video "Through the eyes of the dead". Excellent death metal and horror brought to us by Killjoy and Anselmo.
The first 4 Hellraiser movies are some of my favorites especially the first 2 films. I was in 8th grade when I saw the first one and was instantly interested in the paranormal and the occult. Clive Barker is a horror mastermind and I feel very underrated
I love horror and old noir films. Have you seen "Mr. Sardonicus" from (1940s? I think)? Its free on youtube. Def a cool film to be aware of! Great discussion in this video you guys!
On remakes: i liked the early 2000s remake of Dawn of the Dead alot. I remember back when it came out it was so intense. i would always visit Maddox "the greatest website in the universe" around that time and he did a hilarious review of that remake. He said something like "the badass mall security guard who clearly listens to Pantera and takes no shit". 😄🤣 On the original trilogy tho, i love Dawn but for me, for reasons i cant explain, Day of the Dead is my favorite. I love the underground military base, the military vs scientist dynamics, the bizarre experiments and the scientists attempts to comprehend whats causing the zombies, and "Bub" the "friendly zombie"... also the color palette in Day of the Dead is the opposite of dark...its bright pink red gore againat pale blue and green skin tones.. i just love Day of the Dead. And its weird bc most people prefer Night of the Living Dead or Dawn of the Dead. But something about Day, seeing the zombies in broad daylight and outdoors..reminds me of Fulci's Zombie or Cannibal Holocaust.
You skipped over all those Halloween sequels. Like 3 which was stand alone. 4 and 5 that fit together. Then 666 and H20 which were complete shit I just wanted to complain for no reason. Great video. Thank both of you for the shoutout and kind words.
Haha thanks for checking the video out Paul! Yea trust me we wanted to cover a lot more but this was a long ass video already. But yea some of those were shit. And of course! I still need to pick up your new album. So keep writing kick ass music brother🤘🤘
@@VulgarDisplayofGaming Man, sometimes, they just need to rerelease the original. Not do a remake. And leave it be. Also, sometimes they need to do a one and done. No sequel. Sometimes it’s best to want and never receive. Than to receive complete garbage. I’m not saying all sequels are bad. There are some here and there that carry on a storyline, or expand on the universe of the characters. And do it extremely well. But a lot of them turn in to Halloween H20. You guys were dead on, on Last House On The Left. The 70’s version was so much darker and nastier than the remake. Especially as Rhevok put it. When the mom ate the Oscar Meyer😂
@@VulgarDisplayofGaming Dude, you will get the cd when you get the cd man. I ain’t sweatin it. I appreciate the fact that you like my work man. It means a lot when you create and it’s appreciated. Getting money is a nice bonus. But the fact that someone appreciates and enjoys it. Means so much more than dollar signs
Paul! ya got very based takes on the Halloween franchise. I'm curious what did you think of the final trilogy from 2018-2021? (I think it was those years?). Of course they injected modern tropes of feminism and other cringe social garbage, but besides that I actually thought there were some decent scenes and plot twists. I agree with ya that the original is the best and didn't really need any sequels. H20 is absolute garbage. 3 is cool..for what it is.. but should have been a standalone by diff name in my opinion. Also the 2 rob zombie Halloweens are pretty good in my opinion. An interesting take on Michael's childhood and the family dynamics. And Rob always casts rough looking scummy people which I thought was fitting. 🍻 🔪 🎃
Also random side note: few years ago Nick Castle (the original stuntman in the original Halloween who played Michael) was at a local haunted house here in Illinois on Halloween. Got to meet him, got a killer signed 8x10 and a picture with him.
Badass vid, not the biggest fan of modern remakes, some of my favs were TCM, Hills Have Eyes, The Ring, I Spit On Your Grave, Suspiria, Rob Zombies Halloweens, The Fly, Chaos was supposed to be a remake of Last House On The Left thats some brutal shit. Some of my fav sequels were Friday 2,3,& 4. Halloween 2 & 3, TCM 2 & 3, Return Of The Evil Dead (1973), hellbound hellraiser 2, Dracula- prince of darkness, Devils Rejects, Dawn & Day, Gates Of Hell, House By The Cemetery, exorcist 3 ect. too many more to name killer collaboration vid hope ya guy's talk more horror. 🤘🥃🎃
