This is one of my favourite Fran lebowitz interviews. Bob was brilliant with her and on her level. In many interviews, she is to quick for most people and they ask the most dumb questions. Thank you for sharing this. ❤
Bob Costas is an underrated all-around interviewer because he was so good as a sports broadcaster. I would like to see Bob make another attempt at a non-sports related interviewer. Maybe a podcast.
For instance, Fran has 10,000 books and always mentions that she loves to read. Yet no one ever asks her what she reads; who are her favorite authors, or which genres she prefers. I know she likes Nero Wolff. I feel we would get along on that basis alone, as well as the “furniture” Bloomberg placed in public spaces in NYC. And bicycles. It’s a city! And tourists in Times Square. I also prefer Times Square when it was “dangerous.” It was no where as dangerous as trump was and remains.
I agree , I like people like her. I get tired of sort of fake cheery tedious people. I like strange dark eccentrics. I sort of wish I was friends with her when she was young back then
Of all the things revealed in this 20 minute interview with Bob Costas the fact that Fran Lebowitz does not annoy herself is probably the least surprising.
Thank you for posting this interview! I’ve been interested in Fran Lebowitz’s earlier interviews and this is the only one I’ve seen where she talks about her height. Do you know of any other hard to find archive footage?
Have you seen Matin Scorsese’s documentary or documentary series on Fran? He did a doc titled PUBLIC SPEAKING for HBO in 2010 and Doc series for Netflix PRETEND IT’S A CITY in 2021. Both very good. You’ll know her intimately after watching both.
I’m surprised too, I thought she’d be very tall since her personality. She must be really short lol. Her eyes, stare and face/ facial expressions are very strong, that’s why.
I'm 72 years old. I want to be just like her when I grow up.

I can’t help but like Fran! She would chew me to pieces, but I think I would appreciate it.
Love
Love this woman.
Bob Costas is an excellent interviewer.
What a great pairing. Fran
and Bob are both the absolute best! Thank you for sharing this fabulous interview.
She is just the greatest 💫💫💫

I agree with her . Fran nails it .
Absolutely!
Fran is the coolest.
That was fun! Fran is so interesting, yet If I actually followed her lead I shouldn't give a damn about her. LOL
Forever a fan .
Thanks for uploading this
She is a good interview
Very enjoyable interview, thank you for posting.
Dove tails nicely with her Netflix series
I just LOVE Fran! People made fun of Marty for laughing at everything she says, but are you kidding? I would, too!
She's run-on funny. I'd definitely be laughing at everything too
The last dig about the lighting....LOL!
She is my spirit animal. lol
Bobby kept up well. Asked interesting questions. More than I can say about others who have interviewed Fran.

I would love to have Fran as a friend! I think she is terrific and so funny...not as a comic but a very witty humorist a la Dorothy Parker!
Me also...small but mighty. She said when Toni Morrison died that she lost 2 of her 4 best friends. Think she'd take us on? 😄

@@aaronying4989Hey kid, what makes ya think she’d wanna be friends with *you?* 😊
That book is never comming
Lol That book
She is wearing the same clothes in 2021. Rock on.
The laugh at 12:56💀
'This is my festive behavior' . . ahahaha
👍👍👍 great video

Those boots are durable
All this interview needs is Martin Scorsese laughing his head off.
Better than the Netflix story...younger version

She could be Rossanne Rossanadanna's cousin!
Hahaha!
Speaking of good cheer, I think that people who smile a lot aren’t paying attention.
or they're just enjoying life, shittiness and all
Don't you love her hair?
I do!
Reminds me of Oscar Wilde!
@@joanneewerling5698 OMG YES IT DOES!!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂
2024, still waiting for “Exterior Signs of Wealth”
She seemed needlessly annoyed when she was younger, now it seems well earned. It wears better on a 70 yr old.
I thought she’d be taller too! I don’t know why
It's because she has such a commanding presence.
@@XX-zk2lf Most definitely!

I want to hace a coffee, a bagel and cream cheese and go for a walk
How she became a celebrity is a miracle
Fran Lebowitz replaced the late Don Rickles, comedy wise.
