      Thx for the feedback! I do love my gadgets. 😉 I'm itching to get out motocamping again soon... this lock-down world we're in lately really sucks. Cheers! 👍 --QM

    I know that feeling when ya get that chill right in your bones and the shivers just randomly take over.

      Oh, yeah... I was definitely experiencing "shrinkage" that morning. The cold, concrete bench was not very friendly. That was a great morning, though... very crisp and it got breezy just after breakfast. Everything was going well until the massive thunderstorm later that night: th-cam.com/video/ryCHfZdFNGE/w-d-xo.html . Cheers!

      @@QuasiMotard I just started taking an interest in motocamping. I've been ridding for a little under 2 years. I have a VZ800 Suzuki Marauder cruiser and I'm seriously thinkin about getting involved in this hobby. Your video is quite inspirational. Can't wait to get through this winter and into the NY spring to give this a try.

      @@451dskots88 Motocamping is a great way to get out and enjoy riding and nature. I've been doing it since my early teens, even before I had a motorcycle license. The learning curve can be a bit steep for newcomers, and it's always a little nerve-wracking for new motocampers. So, if you're new to camping in general, it's always good to find a buddy (or a mentor) to camp with the first few times to help with the setup, forgotten items, anxiety about being "naked and afraid", etc. I've found that the trick to successful motocamping is to travel VERY light, and that takes practice.
      The first few times you go out, you'll probably take more crap than you need, and you'll probably forget stuff that you really did need. I always make load-out checklists for my different adventures so I don't forget the critical stuff, and those lists keep me lean and honest on my kit. When I return from every trip, I take inventory of all of my gear and note anything that I didn't use or didn't need... then I update the list for next time. On the gear topic, the best gear for motocamping is lightweight stuff made for backpacking. Usually, the more expensive items give better performance, but any budget will suffice.
      As for the best bike to use for motocamping... that's easy... it's the bike you already have! Just pack up your gear, fill the tank, and hit the road. Getting lost and making mistakes just adds to the adventure and makes it more memorable. My best outings have always been the ones with near catastrophes or giant F-ups. Cheers, and good luck! 😉👍 --QM

    I think we all need a day like this at some point in our lives. Just you, your ride, and Mother Nature

      Yessir... that's my way to unwind and recharge my batteries. I work crazy hours, so it's nice to disconnect sometimes. The difference in surroundings and the rhythm of the day helps me to better appreciate both sides of life. Work hard, play hard... and relax peacefully! 👍 --QM

      Thx for the feedback! I'm not a good role model if you want to save money... I tend to buy all of the toys that interest me! 🤣 Good luck with your Ryker shopping... they are a lot of fun to ride. Cheers! 👍 --QM

      Thx again for the feedback, Sam! My son and I are heading out tomorrow morning for the Formula-1 races at Circuit of the Americas in Austin, TX. We are planning to motocamp for 4 days, and I'll be taking lots of video of the events and around the campsite. I should have some of those videos edited and uploaded sometime next week. Cheers! 👍 --QM

    Good video man. Nothing like Moto camping and good coffee in the morning. I’ll be leaving in May for my annual ride about. Gonna run up thru Virginia, Wva and Ohio to see a brother. Then I’m off out west to Denver, Albuquerque and back to Texas for a bit. Then Back home thru Louisiana, Miss and Alabama to Tennessee. Camping all the way.

      Thx for the feedback! I think that the mornings and the breakfast routine are my favorite part of motocamping. Your upcoming trip sounds awesome... I'm jealous! If you are in the Houston/Katy area, then drop me an email if you'd like to meet up for a meal or ride somewhere. My son and I will be taking a long trip during the month of July for the 2020 Scooter Cannonball Run... it will be about 8000 miles around the USA and we're taking Honda Super Cub's for that trip. We'll be motocamping throughout the 3-week trip and probably stopping every 3-4 days in a hotel to have a shower and wash clothes. Cheers! 👍 --QM

    With all that you need a trailer! For the kitchen sink👏

    • @QuasiMotard
      @QuasiMotard  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's funny that you mention that because I usually bring a kitchen sink with me! ( seatosummitusa.com/products/kitchen-sink ) I use it for washing dishes and also as a small bathing basin for washcloth baths, brushing my teeth, shaving, etc. It's a great piece of kit! All of the gear that I bring will usually pack down into a 20-30L drybag... and that's a COMPLETE camp setup. If you're interested, you can watch another video where I packed everything on my Honda Super Cub: th-cam.com/video/oVAS2_gmVAw/w-d-xo.html Just skip to the end of the video to see the whole camp deployed, including my mobile movie theater kit! 👍 --QM

      Thx for the feedback! I like good coffee, so I do it the hard way. There's nothing quite like fresh-ground coffee in the mornings, and the AeroPress makes it even better. 👍 --QM

    Is it cold in Maine this time of year?

    • @QuasiMotard
      @QuasiMotard  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven't been up to that part of the country in many years, but they are usually getting into the high-30's at night by late October. This campsite is in central Oklahoma at Arcadia Lake, just outside of Edmond, OK. --QM

    I love cooking and camping, but every time I do it I can’t help thinking… cafe anyone? :)

    Holy Jesus you have to be a chemist to make that cup of coffee🤪

    • @QuasiMotard
      @QuasiMotard  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've said it before, and I'll say it again... I do coffee the hard way! There's nothing quite like a cup of fresh-ground coffee to start the day. Check out this video if you're interested in a similar morning routine where I explain a bit more about the AeroPress kit: th-cam.com/video/sAp4xnH9Dp0/w-d-xo.html . Cheers! 👍 --QM

    Is it me or did that seem like a lot to go through for a freaking cup of coffee🤔. But great video

    • @QuasiMotard
      @QuasiMotard  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Agreed! If I had to go through all of that JUST for a cup of joe, then I might reconsider. However, I need to boil the water for the oatmeal and my other dehydrated meals, so it's not a big deal to grind coffee while I wait. I'm a coffee snob, and I really enjoy a good cup of coffee (or 3 or 4) in the morning. The AeroPress and fresh-ground coffee are a winning combo that's hard to beat... it's hard to explain if you haven't experienced it. 😉👍 --QM
