    As an older, working full-time wife and mom, preparing to start my masters program in January, this is exactly the type of insight I’ve been looking for to help me. Thank you!

    This is great Liz! I finished up my Masters last year, lots of what you said were true of my own experiences as well! Also, I love "The time is going to pass anyway" -> I'm definitely going to reflect on that a bit when possibilities come my way in the future.

    Hi Liz, I submitted my dissertation 2 weeks ago and received an email this week from my module leader saying that I've passed. I feel released after 2 years of study alongside my full-time job, my family and the preparation for the CFA( which I am going to defer ). Your testimony about the dissertation echoes with my personal experience, I've got in total 2 meetings with my supervisor and 1 feedback on my draft to finish up my dissertation- no serious support has been, I've been asked to perform unit roots tests without providing training and software to do so, I felt frustrated even if I managed to deliver. Thank you, Liz, good to know that I wasn't the only one in that situation- it's over now.

      Sorry to hear that your experience was frustrating! Like anything, getting these things over the line is often the painful part of the process!

    Thanks for sharing your experience Liz. I've recently started my Masters and work for a Big 4 firm at a Senior Manager level, so this was super relatable and helpful!

    Thank you very much for this. I'm in my late 20s. i did my undergrad and now almost 10 years later, I've applied for my master's. My undergrad and my master's overlap somewhat but ever since I left uni, I've not done any work in the area of my academic study. I did my undergrad purely for academic interest and I'm doing my master's largely for the same reason. However, if in future, I do decide to switch careers into the area of my studies, at least I'll have the knowledge and will be ready.

    This was really helpful, I’m also working full time and study and it’s challenging but I’m learning a lot and that motivates me. 😊

    Can you do a masters without a bachelors?

    • @SimplificationbyLizWright
      @SimplificationbyLizWright  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes - some Uni’s will let you do that if you have some relevant experience or a professional qualification. Speak to the admissions team who will be able to advise you for the specific course you are interested in
