the director seems like a great guy, soo honest like.. confess that he had made some fuck ups in the video that kurt made better.. any other director would have been against that, and if it became a success, (like it did) they would take all the credit themself. its great. and really interesting!

The Movie " Over The Edge " was What Kurt wanted to base his Video on.

Overt the Edge was just a low budget movie, but had such a huge impact when I saw it at 15. It really reflected the angst and frustration teens felt at the time and the growth of suburban life (New Granada) through the 70's. Cheap Trick's Surrender was the perfect soundtrack.

It's funny, Kurt was a very simple guy for a complicated world.
When he recorded nevermind, he only wanted to record 1 voice. Butch had to convince him by saying that Lennon recorded 2 or 3 voices. and in some cases he deceived him by saying that the take had gone wrong and that they had to record it again.
He didn't have the patience to do interviews, because he didn't want to talk about his music or his lyrics.
He wanted to be heard, but not by many people. many times he said that he wanted to continue playing in small pubs.
He never wanted to buy new clothes, it was always used.
Courtney was the opposite, she wanted to be a glamorous queen. One day she bought a luxury car, and he told her, take that car out of our house now, I don't want the neighbors to see it.
He did not like to travel,
He never spoke to the band after a concert.
He was able to finish the show, sit down without saying anything, and go home.
He really hated journalists, cameras etc.
It was very difficult because everything he did became popular.
It happened the same with the sex pistols. They dressed in black, with leather jackets, and filled their torn clothes with pins.
Then they saw that "punk clothes" in stores. and they hated it.
Kurt would have been happy recording music at his house without touring.

I really enjoy the video, kinda blew my mind when I was about 8 years old and stayed home from school one day, put it on MTV and they played this and RHCP's Under the Bridge back to back. And I was just blown away. But apparently Kurt really hated the video the way it came out, he had a completely different vision.

You just brought me back brother. I was about 9 and remember the same exact thing! It was early Spring in MA where I'm from and I was mesmerized by those videos and songs. Both gave me a feeling that I never had before. I was a big Motley Crue and Gn'R fan before that but those bands just seemed cool and dangerous to me as a little kid. Nirvana, and mainly Kurt seemed interesting on a whole different level. It was still years before I started to understand the songs and the culture but it shaped my youth and who I am today. I still love Nirvana and go through phases where I'll listen to everything by them for a couple weeks each year. Also, I feel like I've commented or you've commented to my posts on here before. I've seen your name prior to this for sure. Be well!

And his memory mixed up the timespan. In fact, the Roxy show was only two days before this shoot. The kids in the video were the audience from that show, Kurt invited them during their set at the Roxy. I think its pretty cool that he had fresh eyes and ears for the band. He could really capture his impression of them.

Everyone always makes out they knew they were brilliant and were going to take over the world. Yes they are a brilliant era defining act who changed the face of guitar music forever. @LuisRamirez666, I don't think it's "sad". The RnRHoF's rule of 25 years still makes sense to me, because it eliminate bands that might be popular today but forgettable tomorrow. It's not like Nirvana is the only hand who's had to wait; lots of other bands got inducted only in very recent years because of the same rule: Metallica, REM, Talking Heads, Run DMC...
