I love Baxcalibur BECAUSE he’s so goofy and silly. He’s directly based on the era of Japanese Godzilla films that used rubber suits and made him a sort of hero character, doing silly jumps and gravity defying kicks and things. He’s simple, he’s a fun reference, and he’s a solid combination of cool and unserious that not many other Pseudos really nail down. Love him.
Same. I really didn't like the line when I played through the main game, but something about it kept drawing me back. Then when the final Eliet Four member used it as his ace, he caught me so off guard that it actually managed to sweep my entire team who, up to that point, had had little problem taking out any challenge we faced. I had to rethink my entire approach based around his Baxcalibler! It was then that I resolved to catch a shiny Frigibax for my post-game team and see what all the fuss was about! Snowrdrick is one of my favorite Pokemon and was my ace for a long time and a lot of shiny hunts.
I do really like the silly Glaive Rush animation because of the reference, but the Pokemon, itself, is awful and ugly as sin. I also despise that we got yet another dragon type pseudo, and this one isn't even good. It's the worst pseudo and the worst gen 9 Pokemon.
@@Celestia282 You say ugly, I say charming, goes right next to Dragapult and Hydreigon for me at the top. Granted my favourite (base) fire type is Heatmor so what do I know
Been watching your videos for so long now, and I haven’t really commented on here or twitter. I’ll make sure to drop a comment on these last 10. Can’t describe how much seeing this channel take its final bow is so bittersweet. You’re an incredible youtuber, theorist and storyteller and you’ve successfully inspired so many. I looked forward to seeing your take after every game drop. Can’t wait to see what you do from here, BirdKeeperToby. Thanks so much for teaching us to soaring high! also ps. I don’t get the Tinkaton hype either lol
Until I got to Shield, I probably would have said Umbreon, Houndoom, or Absol was my favorite Dark type. Now, it’s Obstagoon. I just love the design and typing and it was the first Pokémon I shiny bred for. I also appreciate how it gave a region form and variant to Zigzagoon and Linoone, which is the line that I would consider my favorite early route Normal/rodent.
Baxcalibur's signature move is a direct reference to an absolutely absurd moment in a classic bad Godzilla movie. Godzilla does basically the same thing
Unrelated to the video, on behalf I f your fans Toby, a colossal thanks for years of entertaining us. We cherish you so much. May you travel in the TARDIS and find your way back to us 🤗
I was almost very mad for you hating on my boys Bramblin, Ledian, and Frigibax, but I guess I can forgive you for also believing that Tinkaton is pretty meh lol.
16:28 I personally prefer Haunter waaaay better than Gengar, I would love to have a split evolution to a more Ghastly/Haunter like pokemon, one that's constantly flying/floating, has floating hands, and maybe a gaseous aura like Ghastly, I don't really like that they took the cool mouth of Haunter and turned it into a simple grin, and reatached the limbs, I don't hate Gengar by any means, but Haunter is superior in design
Mabostiff is literally a mafia boss mastiff. What’s not to love? Although, I may be a little biased since I have an old, black and grey mastiff (Presa Canario).
I like Pansage and Simisage, they've got the most personality of the three and have a really strong move set. I kept it on my team throughout the entire main game of my playthrough of Black.
@@ejokurirulezz Can't tell if you mean the Switch games are garbage or Gen 5. Either way I must beg to differ. Gen 5 was one of the last greatly innovative games on the DS from Game Freak and the Pokemon designs are (almost ⚙) all really good! The story was fairly engaging as well. Now I will not defend Sword and Shield nor BDSP, those were some hot garbage, with the exception of the Pokemon designs in Gen 8. But Legends: Arceus and Scarlet & Violet are amazing steps in the right direction! And again, killer Pokemon designs!
@@timwoods2852I disagree 100%. Gen 5 wasn’t bad but then again no gen is. But in terms of how it ranks compared to the rest it’s a bottom 3 generation and the designs are a HUGE reason why I feel it’s a bottom 3 gen. One of my favorite Pokémon came from Gen 5 but too bad it doesn’t save the rest of the gen from mostly bad designs. Hell if you’re referring to the Klink line then I disagree with even that. Its design is better than most in Gen 5. That being said I do think the monkey trio is severely overrated. They’re solid designs and in fact I prefer Simisear over the rest.
I think the only one I disagree with is sneasler. It's so punk rock! The way it stands leaning back with the one log ribbon ear thing. Also it seems to move like its forgotten it has big claws, nearly bonking itself in the head when it laughs. and i cant get over the attitude when it agrees to help, like "yo you want me to carry you up that mountain? Chill, hop in the basket." Don't understand it's typing though
I found a pattern lol most of (or at least half of) your least fave pokemon are the feminine/girly pokemon. and that's why you don't see the hype around the tinka line. it's a gleefully violent little gremlin that's a menace to society. she wakes up every morning with opposable thumbs and decides to make it everyone's problem. she is an agent of pure chaos in the form of a cute little girl. it's fantastic! and this isn't a read, I'm not coming for you, there's lots of players who don't like certain genres of pokemon. I personally dislike the ones that are so humanoid they feel like animal crossing characters. like the Scorbunny line. both 2nd evos would fit in perfectly in animal crossing and the last one looks like a middle evo, not a final evo. Scorbunny itself looks too much like the Trix rabbit to me (mainly the super white coloring. looks like someone forgot to color it in in the official art). we all dislike what we dislike, even if we can't articulate why. but for a lot of the ones you said you just didn't know why, it's cause they're feminine, so they just don't really appeal. and as a woman who loves the feminine pokemon and ALSO doesn't like Delphox all that much, that's ok
Tbh, none of your least favourites really annoyed me, they were all pretty agreeable actually. And yep, Tinkaton isn't as amazing as they say it is, it's very overhyped. You have very solid favourites Toby!
Re: Meloetta Introduced in the region that literally has a musical artist in every town, which directly adds an instrument to the soundtrack when the player is in their vicinity. The entire region is kind of Meloettta themed!
I have seen quite a few people saying Delphox's design ruins the line. It's supposed to be a regal Mage to round out the Warrior, Thief, Mage triad that is basic Fantasy RPG archetypes, and it barely gets the mage part right. I recently saw some videos of people fixing the designs of Pokemon. Delfox's most significant issue is that its changes from Braxien need to be revised; it feels more like a mode/form change of Braxien than an actual evolution, and I've heard a lot of people say something similar. If the wand from Braxien actually grew into a Wizard's staff or something similar, they took that hair out of the ears and, attached it to the back with a more defined flame design, and worked to make the fur on its body look more like a wizard's robe with a bit more variety in the color palette; I think it would much more solid design, and maybe even one of the more beloved designs. Chesnaut is a solid design, and a wonderful reference to the history of knights; the code of Chivalry actually started in France, which Kalos is based on, and Greninja, being a shinobi, calls back to the Japanese history of the franchise while also slotting nicely into the kinds of roles real-world historical shinobi typically took on. But Delfox falls short of its source inspirations, in some of the worst ways possible. Yeah, you probably didn't realize that Chivalry actually started in France; the name is even a reference to the French word for Knight.
Tank, Mage, Fighter is the classic triad of classes in RPG. Specifically the grass starter is the full tank that goes to off-tank, the mage for the fire and the warrior that goes stealthy considering brigadiers were general level officer rank as of braixen is the classic jap magical girl theme. and then becomes the seer class mage. Do you even have any clue of RPG? Or you only played asian ones that have no clue what rpg is
@@ejokurirulezz I've played a few different RPGs and games with RPG Elements. For example, in the game Lords of Magic, you play as a commander of one of several elemental factions (which includes Order, Chaos, Life, and Death; they make Death the villains of the main story, but that's partially excusable since the game is from way back in the 1990s/early 2000s era) and after you decide to start the game, before going to pick your element, you have to pick the first champion archetype you are in command of with their first set of units. And there are only 3 options, "Warrior," "Thief," and "Mage"; after that, you get to see how each of those archetypes translates to the hero classes of each faction while you are deciding which faction to play as; once you free the temple, your first task in the game proper, you get command of that factions other two hero archetypes, and can spend time advancing things and recruiting more heroes and units to support them. Their are technically 5 archetypes in RPGs: Tank, Fighter, Mage, Healer, and Thief; but Mage and Healer are usually treated as the same, or similar, archetype for simplicity's sake, and then you have the case of the Tanke and Warrior, which are often treated as one and the same as well, although the Tank is also often treated as its own archetype with elements of the Mage and/or Healer as well that have their own spin that makes it look or feel like they aren't stepping on the mage's toes. Thief is often relegated to the Stealth roles, and often even given an ability to inflict damage more frequently than the other archetypes, which is what it is also often referred to as just "the DPS" kind of role I've primarily had experience with western RPGs, like D&D and World of Darkness; I actually have very little experience with Asian-style RPGs.
As a water trainer, Golisopod was a really cool addition as I didn't normally go for bugs before that (gen 1 problem, cool design, limited attacks etc). Masquerain would have to be my least favourite by that same logic. It evolves from a Bug/Water, even has "Rain" in it's name and yet ends up as a dual flyer like almost every single bug lol. Scyther, Butterfree, Ledian, Yanma, Beautifly, Ninjask, Mothim, Combee/Vespiqueen and Vivillon. Thankfully the games over the years released more interesting dual types but we had a chance in gen 3 to mix it up already and they dropped the ball big time haha.
I enjoyed hearing your thoughts, preferences, and opinions. There were some that I agreed with and others where I disagreed, but I could understand why you picked the Pokémon that you chose. Torterra is one of my favorite Grass types. One that I disagree with is Meloetta. What would've been cool is if they made Relic Song be what stopped conflicts and rampaging legends in Unova. Below will be my favorites and least favorites. Normal -Favorite=Obstagoon; Least favorite=Squawkabilly Water -Favorite=Blastoise; Least favorite=Phione Fire -Favorite=Johtonian Typhlosion; Least favorite=Simisear Grass -Favorite=Rillaboom; Least favorite=Bramblin Electric -Favorite=Zeraora; Least favorite=Arctozolt Flying -Favorite=Corviknight; Least favorite=Unfezant Bug -Favorite=Heracross; Least favorite=Burmy Poison -Favorite=Nidoking; Least favorite=Ariados Rock -Favorite=Tyranitar; Least favorite=Barbaracle Ground -Favorite=Swampert or Torterra; Least favorite=Galarian Stunfisk Ice -Favorite=Walrein; Least favorite=Jynx Fighting -Favorite=Annihilape; Least favorite=Keldeo Psychic -Favorite=Gardevoir; Least favorite=Gothitelle Ghost -Favorite=Marshadow; Least favorite=Gourgeist Dragon -Favorite=Latios, Rayquaza, Garchomp, or Kalosian Goodra; Least favorite=Druddigon Dark -Favorite=Krookodile; Least favorite=Mightyena Steel -Favorite=Metagross; Least favorite=Klinklang Fairy -Favorite=Mawile; Least favorite=Aromatisse
Iron valiant is honestly tops, it makes me sad to see violet is getting quite a bit of hate since all the endgame pokemon are robots and there shines are basic for being just a steel color. And it hurts to see both games being hated on for there glitches and unfinished states (I actually fell through the floor in violet today). No one seems to realize the pretty decent plot of the game I love the past and future theme it has going and I actually kinda cried a bit when Mabosstiff was healed. The emotional moments in that game where crazy for me and I just love the characters although it could be better. But I'm just going to drop some opinions. (I might not do every type but Imma list a few) Fairy: Iron valiant - Tops, no regrets. I love how it turns its arm blades into a double sided combat blade, I just love violence man. Fire: Ceruledge - Should have been on the list but so one can fight with the starters. I just genuinely loved this pokemons design though, the dead knight thing it has going for it and the fact that I THINK its the first knight pokemon that was not a fighting type (Cinderace is a close second, I just love my fire rabbit I had no regrets choosing it as my starter for my sword playthrough) Fighting: Gallade - I am a Gallade fanatic, what can I say. This blade boy started my Iron Valiant obsession tbh, like, hear me out, HE . HAS . BLADES . FOR . ELBOWS . I feel like the lad does not get enough recognition compared to his female and robotic counterpart. Normal: Eevee - I love the fox baby, idc if its overrated or not, if its a second mascot or not. F L O O F B A B Y. Eevee was also my first shiny ever, I caught him in ultra moon and named him Bleach bc of the white coloration and never evolved him, he started my shiny hunter journey. *Sadly however I DID NOT download pokemon bank because when I played the 3DS I did not give a care in the world about spending money, nor did I have the money to buy it so bleach the Eevee will be leaving never to be seen again unless I catch another shiny Eevee in violet (Violet since I main on violet)* Ghost: Hisuian Zoroark - I would have done this for normal but Eevee tops it. I just live the design, so many other people do, forgive me for being a biased person, but I am a fox person mate. I've always loved Zorua, its line, and its shinies Poison: Sneasler - I am so ready for hate, but, no joke, I literally bought legends just for this mother ducker. BUT, HEAR ME OUT. When I got the ride for this pokemon I was just feeling the demon slayer vibes. Like, the box, that is literally why I like this pokemon. Grass: Lurantis - I know its not the most known but I have two Lurantis OC's that I made since I don't think Lurantis gets many characters and might of slightly gotten attached to the bug, I don't care how many people hate it. I literally named one of my Lurantis OC's Corn Calido, he's an assassin. The lad started my Lurantis liking theme although Lingo was the first one I made. Steel: Magearna - I like the story behind this pokemon and she/its aught to be my favorite mythical pokemon. Its somewhat broken in combat if you train one right and I just love robots, theres a reason why I main Violet over scarlet. I love my robot babies I'm into cybercore and steampunk, fire me. ones that I kinda hate Ice: Glalie - I know I might get some hate for this one, but something about the design did not stick right with me. I'd take Weavile's evolution process over this man any day. Fire: Scovillian - I dunno, it just does not stick just like the last one. Its design is just not my piece of pie. Dragon: Druddigon - I never really used it and its design, I just don't like it. So many of my dislikes and likes revolve around the design because I draw, its what I do and ofc we all have our opinions but the way these colors where done... Nuh-uh... Grass: Grookey - I am so ready for the hate but this mother ducker took Cinderace's spotlight in the show. Off with his head I could not care less about him. Ghost: Frillish (Either gender) - I love a LOT of ghost pokemon, its a genuinely a cool type BUT I CAN NOT SEE HOW THIS DUDE MADE IT TO GETTING THE GHOST TYPE. Its legit just a jelly fish to me, I never EVER said "I need that pokemon on my team" to Frillish, I just think it came from dollar tree. forgive me to anyone who actually likes this thing. Steel: Iron Treads - I love violet with all my heart, but this pokemon, its design just feels bland to me. They could have done way better in my opinion, now I dont directly hate any steel type pokemon, but I just think this one missed the mark, I'm not saying I hate it, but I don't love it. God dang that took longer then expected...
I have trouble with Scovillian too. Grass/Fire had to become something eventually and a chilli plant makes sense but something about the design makes it feel like it's in the wrong game as if it should be in Plants verse Zombies not Pokemon haha.
YESS the Trubbish love is such a vibe, I literally loved Trubbish since I first set eyes on it, it is my favorite gen V mon and I think it maybe gets a lot of undeserved hate for being an object mon, or just gets ignored
Almost forgot to add pt2 of my OWN list. Whoops: Normal Fav: ok this is hard I have several contenders for this spot and my choice could change daily but for today i'll give it a pure normal type skitty just so I don't also choose Stufful lol. Skitty is so cute and if you only saw it for the first time it's design has so much potential. Normal Least fav: its lickitung. There are several others that could get this spot but this one is just also the grossest Fire Fav: its pyroar, for all the same reasons as a stufful. I also have a pro feline bias. Fire Least fav: magmortar. I know theres a reason it looks the way it does, it doesn't make it less ugly. No other fire type is THIS ugly as close as some try to come Fighting fav: I'm not a big fan of the fighting type but there are some nice ones. My choice here is marshadow since we're excluding pokemon with a secondary typing. Fighting least fav: I hate Machamp. Its not the only fighting type I hate, but its the one shown off the most. It has one of the most human like bodies with an extra set of arms thrown on but then this face. If only the alligator head had stayed. Sawk and throh had muppet faces but at least muppets are funny this is just gross. Water fav: excluding starters I give my vote to jellicent and gastrodon today. Both forms are equally cute and I love their cries. Water least fav: remoraid. While there are plenty of ugly fish this is the one fish that doesn't need to exist and weighs down another water pokemon with its presence. Flying fav: Its so limited when its only primary types. Flamigo. I know its a simple flamingo punching bag, but its a flamingo. A good one in battle no less. Its walking animation amuses me. Flying least fav: for the sake of giving cramorant a break the loser here is incarnate tornadus Grass fav: a hard choice but todays winner is Appletun, silver goes to lurantis. Grass Least fav is gloom AND nuzleaf. Would they really be missed? Poison fav: Mareanie. Its a hard call nowadays with the latest gens. Poison least fav: muk. its still just sentient sludge. Not even interesting sludge. Electric fav: Luxray. Electric least fav: Incarnate thunderus cuz duh but also electrode. Ground fav: Mudsdale. Love the mane and clydedales. Ground least fav: Alolan dugtrio. All the same issues as dugtrio but worse Psychic Fav: Espurr. Its just do damn cute look at those vacant eyes. Psychic least fav: I have a few but who can really top Mr Mime?
Well might as well do this too since it will likely be the last time I will get to share my favourite and least favourite Pokémon on this channel (Thanks for all the years of entertainment Toby). So my Favourite/Least Favourite Pokémon of each type are: Bug: Beedrill / Wormadam Sandy Cloak Dark: Houndoom /Alolan Persian Dragon: Goodra / Baxcalibur Electric: Ampharos /Pawmo Fairy: Iron Valiant / Slurpuff Fighting: Medicham / Crabominable Fire: Flareon / Semisear Flying: Corviknight / Flamigo Ghost: Gengar / Spectrier Grass: Venasaur / Sunflora Ground: Marowak / Stunfisk Ice: Articuno / Cryogonal Normal: Miltank / Ambipom Poison: Crobat / Swalot Psychic: Gardevoir / Unown Rock: Midnight form Lycanroc / Stonjourner Steel: Hysuian Goodra / Klinklang Water: Swanna / Pelipper So admittedly weighed heavily toward the first three generations as favourites, taking up half of the slots, but otherwise fairly balanced between the gens. Although no Gen 4 Pokémon made it into my favourites list, while no Gen 1 Pokémon made the worst.
Good way to go about it. Going off the primary type is the way to go with a few expitons, Flying most flying types have it as there 2nd type soo if it's type one only it leaves you with * Tornadus * Noivern * Cramorant * Bombirdier * Flamigo The other expicon I think I would make to first types only are Vocarona And Reginal forms.
Ooh, fun. In this comment I'll be stating how I feel about your choices, in a later comment I'll actually look thru the dex and add my own Grass fav: Sure. Least: And...u know what sure Fire fav: Ok nice. Least: valid answer. I'd argue there are faaar worse, but yeah Water fav: yeah pretty good. Least: I mean yeah Electric fav: a typical answer for a good reason. Least: not even a contender. Like in a world of exploding balls the BIRD is what u vote least like wth Normal fav: hell yes! Least: not my choice but I feel nothing about her either Bug fav: meh. Least: yeah Rock fav: it's cute. Least: YES, worst ever Ice fav: um, no. Least: yes but how did the other get too lol Poison fav: nah, saying it's fine is different from saying it's the best. Least: it IS weird Flying fav: omg it's so weird how so many birds get booted out of the options so yeah. Least: yeah Ground fav: if only it always looked like that. Least: yup Fighting fav: I'm so glad u didn't say a different typical fav answer. THIS is good. Least: yeaaaaaah Steel fav: yeah pretty good. Least: yeah it's boring but idk if it'll be my worst yet Dark fav: I agree with wo chien but not so much guzzlord. Least: I didn't like it at first and I'd argue it's pre evo deserves this spot but it's alright. Not a worst contender the story helped showcase it well Psychic fav: nah. Least: no! Dammit u leave those birds alone they're adorable Ghost fav: yeah super basic do not agree. Least: yeah at least this is an agreement I'm a huge ghost fan so one of my favs being here wud have sucked. Good thing this is here instead lol Fairy fav: nah to iron valiant. Togepi sure. Least: u know what YES. We're in exactly the same boat. Aromatisse is worse but yes lol Dragon fav: meh. Least: yes, definitely yes
I despise Pikachu and Pikachu clones. Pikachu is bad enough, raichu is way cooler, pichu KINDA feels necessary, plussle and minun have a cool gimmick, and pachirisu is great. The rest all suck, and I've never used a Pikachu clone except to get to raichu.
So, has the term 'genwunner' lost its original meaning? Because back in the day, it was used to refer to Pokemon fans who only recognized Gen 1 as legitimate and stopped playing after it because "it's no longer Pokemon", but now it refers to people who have a special fondness/preference towards Gen 1?
TBH I've never understood it to really mean anything all that much. I don't think I've ever met anyone who actually staunchly defewnds gen 1 as the only reral generation of Pokemon and I have done this full time for a decade. I'vew always thoguht of it to more closely mean "Kids of the Pokemania era who think its exclusiuvly better the father back you go"
I've come around to Sneasler. I hated it at first because Weavile is so much cooler, but the more I've seen it, the more I like it. Weavile is still better, but Sneasler definitely competes with Toxicroak now for Fighting/Poison type fave.
I really like Sneasler. I've always disliked Weavile because I think the feathered headdress is just goofy. Sneasler looks so much cooler by comparison.
is that all it takes for the kids to call you a genwunner these days? if you have to make a point of including *at least* one kanto mon in your least favorites to dodge the allegations, then i guess i'm a genwunner too
Ngl, I expected all of the "best" to be birds. And it does take guts to admit to genwunning, I'll give you that. Most would come up with the lamest excuses as to why they aren't one, but it's nice to see someone embrace their status for once.
Talonflame, Peilliper, Killowattrel, Togekiss, Archeops. Skarmory, Delibird, Honchkrow, Xatu...not saying any of these are the best but there isn't enough birds to match the eighteen types haha.
Meloetta really got the short end of the stick, i'm certain it has something to do with all the things named "Relic", and that there must be some link that connects it and the past of the Unova Region to the current day where we have Musicals - there's a hidden track in the BW OST which is basically a modern EDM remix of the Relic Song, and i just wonder what it was all about??
2 things about mabastiff 1. yes the other 2 dog pokemon are much better designed and 2 thank birdkeepertoby i also never really cared for the avren storyline and i wasn't emotionally attached either nor did i care for arvens design like i can see why people like him but he's just not my favorite
The only time I can think I’ve ever considered doing anything with Luvdisc, is getting it for an in game trade for Steelix in X and Y. You can actually get the in game trade before the 2nd gym.
10:37 I absolutely ADORE Grafaiai, but I don't think it needed a pre evolution, they revealed Grafaiai and it felt complete by itself, like, it just makes sense as a 1 stage mon, and Shroodle doesn't add anything to the line in my opinion... I even completely forgot it existed, like fully
I would have to say that for myself (and yes, I am also only using the primary type in the combinations), my favourite and least favourites are: Grass: Bayleef > Ogerpon Fire: Combusken > Skeledirge Water: Kingler > Gorebyss Electric: Ampharos > Boltund Normal: Aipom > Audino Fighting: Hawlucha > Hitmontop Flying: Noivern > Cramorant Poison: Toxicroak > Okidogi Ground: Gliscor > Alolan Dugtrio Psychic: Gothorita > Oricorio Rock: Amaura > Binacle Ice: Jynx > Cetoddle Bug: Heracross > Wormadam Dragon: Latias > Baxcalibur Ghost: Chandelure > Houndstone Dark: Morgrem > Thievul Steel: Metang > Aggron Fairy: Floette > Enamorus Therian Forme Don’t @ me with “You hate all the new Pokémon!”.. No I don’t, but it’s not my fault there are so many bad ones.
Pt 2 of pt 2: Rock Fav: Lycanroc any form. Rock least fav: geodude any form. And barbaracle Ice fav: Alolan ninetales predictably. Ice least fav: jynx just as predictably Bug fav: Leavanny. I love the mantis pokemon alot and how they made them look buggy but also dapper. Bug least fav: paras. It knows what it did. Not only a meh pokemon but then became the zubat of legend arceus Dragon fav: its the cotton goose of glory Altaria. Dragon least fav: the whole baxcalibur line. In addition to the base dragon being bad the fully grown dragon look somehow even more like godzilla than tyranitar. Mostly tho its how its animation works for its signature move Ghost fav: in a category of utmost tops all vying for this spot Pumpkaboo ends up winning. So most other ghost types would be my honorable mentions. Ghost least fav: gastly. Its just the least interest ghost in the room Dark fav: sableye. Its funny and creepy but also reminds me alot of stitch from lilo and stitch. Dark least fav: scrafty. I know theres a point but that doesn't make me like the design Steel fav: cufant. I like copperajah too but cufant is too precious for words. Steel least fav: gholdengo. This damn string cheese abomination is my worst not just becuz I don't like its design, but also because of how much work and effort this thing makes you put in just to get it. AND now that sore spot is a result every time I look at a line up of ghost pokemon Fairy fav: wow, turns out alot of fairy pokemon are secondary fairies. I give my point to dachsbun. Its cute, actually a primary fairy type, easy to work with and nicely bulky. Least fav fairy: enamorous is obvious but so too is aromatisse. They both land here
Really wild how I can agree so hard with someone about Trubbish, yet see both Weavile and Sneasler in the exact opposite way. I love Sneasler to death, but the first time I trained a Sneasel in Gen 4 after finding out it finally got an evolution (but not spoiling it for myself), I dropped it from my team when it became Weavile because I HATE it's design. It would probably be either my least favorite Dark or Ice type, while Sneasler would be the top of either Poison or Fighting. Sneasel's design is near perfect, but Weavile feels like it takes everything I liked about Sneasel except the color schem and throws it away. Meanwhile Sneaseler takes what's great about Sneasel and enhances it, while also giving it the sickest set of claws I've ever seen on a Pokémon.
What I see as so great about Sneasler is that it's more so of what you'd expect from Sneasel just looking at it on its own. It's Sneasel but more of it, hence it's Sneasel-er!
Favourites: Bug Volcarona Grass Grovyle Fire Chandelure Water Ludicolo Normal Obstagoon Dark Zorua Flying Corviknight Rock Tyrantrum Steel Bisharp/Kingambit Ice Alolan Ninetales Psychic Alakazam Ghost Hisuian Zoroark Dragon Hydreigon Ground Iron Treads Electric Eelektross Poison Nidoqueen Fairy Iron Valiant Fighting Scrafty Least Favourites Rock Solrock/ Lunatone (long story and its not Tate and Liza) Bug Masquerain (dropped the water typing from Surskit) Fairy Enamorus Dragon Altaria i guess? (Should still have the fairy typing) Grass Cherrim (its just there) Fire (i badly want to put Charizard just because im sick and tired of seeing it) Male Salandit Water Seel (its a seal... with a horn) Normal Gumshoos Flying Iron Jugulis (Could have been much cooler) Ground Galarian Yamask Steel Current Mawile (It really needed its Mega) Fighting Hitmontop Psychic Gardevoir Electric Plusle Minun Ice Dewgong Don't really have any others for the rest offf the top of my head
So does Toby know about the reference to a scene in an old Godzilla movie with the move Gale Rush? Just look up Godzilla drop kick and you'll see what I mean.
I love brambelin but i think its type makes it much better than it should be in my eyes. Although, it would be 100 times better if it got an evelution like the tumbelweed gunslinger that MandJtv made.
My favourites and least favourites Grass - Bulbasaur (always the best) Simisage Fire - Flareon (i just want to cuddle it so hard) Slugma Water - Vaporeon (my XY Vaporeon was a good pokemon) Feebas (Magikarp is cooler than feebas) Electric - Boltund Joltik and Emolga Bug - Butterfree Mothim Normal - Eevee Spinda Rock - Rockruff Geodude Ground - Mudsdale Hippotas Flying - Talonflame Emolga Ice - Lapras Sneasel Poison - Poipole Ekans Fighting - Machoke Medicham Dark - Krookodile Purrloin Steel - Steelix Magnemite Fairy - Mimikyu Snubbull Ghost - Mimikyu (yeah i put mimikyu twice) Spectrier Dragon - Dragonair Kingdra Psychic - Espeon Spoink
Love this video birdkeeper Toby and all your videos are amazing and how come you stopped having ash voicing the the outro and you really love good in a beard.
As a lover of Ghost Types, there are exactly three Ghost Types that I just don't care about. And those just so happen to be Bramblin, Bramblegast, and Drifblim. I'd say Drifloon as well, but it's cute so it's allowed to exist on that premise alone.
My best and worst of each type would be: Best Grass: Serperior Worst Grass: Amoongus Best Fire: Cinderace Worst Fire: Incineroar Best Water: Primarina Worst Water: Bruxish Best Electric: Ampharos/Luxray/Raichu Worst Electric: Stunfisk/Pincurchin Best Normal: Meloetta/Lopunny Worst Normal: Dudunsparce Best Bug: Pheromosa/Scizor Worst Bug: Spidops Best Rock: Diancie/Lycanroc Worst Rock: Probopass/Klawf Best Ice: Glaceon/Alolan Ninetales Worst Ice: Crabominable Best Poison: Sneasler/Naganadel Worst Poison: Garbodor Best Flying: Togekiss Worst Flying: Enamorus Best Ground: Flygon Worst Ground: Diggersby Best Fighting: Lucario Worst Fighting: Bewear Best Steel: Mawile/Tinkaton Worst Steel: Klinklang Best Dark: Meowscarada/Absol Worst Dark: Skuntank/Overqwil Best Psychic: Espeon/Mewtwo Worst Psychic: Jynx Best Ghost: Froslass/Ceruledge/Hisuian Zoroark Worst Ghost: Bramblin/Jellicent Best Fairy: Iron Valiant Worst Fairy: Mr. Mime Best Dragon: Latias Worst Dragon: Dracovish
I gotta be the only mf on this planet who prefers Sneasler over Weavile (the latter still has a better name though). Sneasler's claws alone are enough to put it above if you ask me, they are just so cool and deadly looking! Weavile's in comparison are literally just Sneasel's but with an added finger. I also really love the feather ponytail Sneasler has, it just more consistent and congruent with Sneasel and expands on a pre-established element in a way I somehow didn't see coming. Also, a nitpick I have with Weavile is that doesn't carry over that chest gem that Sneasel had, you know who does? Sneasler. They remembered this time!
Not sure if its just me or was this video a little quiet? Great content as always though Toby, can't believe its your final month, gonna miss you mate!
I used to be a Tinkaton hater I didn’t get it either but ive seen the light Its a blacksnith dwarf who hoards metal from pokémon and looks all cute while being so unhinged and contrasting the hammer. Also she reminds me of Stitch.
Man I am right there with you on Oricorio. Ghost and Fire are phenomenal, but Electric and Psychic are just so... Some of my favorites and your least favorites do overlap, but since you put Cyndaquil (one of my favorite Pokémon period) as the best Fire-type, all is forgiven.
Aww man Dehlmise is one of my favourite Pokemon! I just love that it's the moss on the anchor not the anchor, I think that's why its so cool to me, like a sort of parasite type pokemon! Also just love nautical old rusty ship aesthetics!
I remember when I encountered Sneasler for the first time I assumed it was just Hisuian sneasel, not its evolution, I dont hate its appearance, I just feel It should have been sneasel, and then evolved further.
Amazing video! So many based choices especially picking Torterra 😌😌 this was also highly funny and I’m glad I’m not the only one that thinks Glave Rush looks a little silly lol
Ah why don't u like mabistiff? The fact he looks sad and ill after ue gets better is the point. Hes a sad looking Pokemon like a beagle or Bassett hound that makes you want to cheer him up and hug him
“None of your least favorites were from Gens 1 or 2.” *chose Ledian as least favorite Bug type* It’s ok, I too have forgotten that Ledian exists sometimes.
All evos of Hoenn starters are bangers. Probably favorite 9 of all the starters. And then they got megas and added even more personality. And this is unique independent personality. Not this all Sobbles are cry babies or all Totadiles are menaces to society with there chomps.
He just has an awful pose in the artwork.
@@pkmntrainermark8881 if he tucked his hands in a little he’d be doing the perfect old Godzilla idlepose
Tinkaton is literally a meme, that's the only reason it got blown of proportion. "I thought you were a care bear!" "I'm an intensive care bear."
I like Tinkaton, I put it on my main team in Scarlet...
Toby's villain arc is starting, and i'm here for it
We're definitely beginning Toby's heel turn
You either die a hero or live logn wnough to become the villian
He’s on his way out so he might as well ruffle some feathers
Give him a swirly orange mask with an eyehole

I kinda love how the elemental monkey hate is SO UNIVERSEAL that they have "never" been on the Switch (at least so far)
I like Pansage and Simisage, they've got the most personality of the three and have a really strong move set. I kept it on my team throughout the entire main game of my playthrough of Black.
Most likely because they are on the most garbage gen of the franchise.
Chill, hop in the basket."
Don't understand it's typing though
Yeah, it's so chill that it should be at least part ice.
Big disagree on Bramblin, look at how stupid it looks!!! It has no thoughts in it it’s little head 🥺🥺
It needs love
Ice is my favorite type and yeah I agree Regice is amazing. My favorites would be Alolan Ninetales and Cetitan.
Tbh, none of your least favourites really annoyed me, they were all pretty agreeable actually. And yep, Tinkaton isn't as amazing as they say it is, it's very overhyped. You have very solid favourites Toby!
Re: Meloetta
Introduced in the region that literally has a musical artist in every town, which directly adds an instrument to the soundtrack when the player is in their vicinity.
Thief is often relegated to the Stealth roles, and often even given an ability to inflict damage more frequently than the other archetypes, which is what it is also often referred to as just "the DPS" kind of role
I've primarily had experience with western RPGs, like D&D and World of Darkness; I actually have very little experience with Asian-style RPGs.
Yeah, but Gen 3 gave us the ultimate troll Bug in Shedinja!

(I might not do every type but Imma list a few)
Fairy: Iron valiant - Tops, no regrets. I love how it turns its arm blades into a double sided combat blade, I just love violence man.
Fire: Ceruledge - Should have been on the list but so one can fight with the starters. I just genuinely loved this pokemons design though, the dead knight thing it has going for it and the fact that I THINK its the first knight pokemon that was not a fighting type (Cinderace is a close second, I just love my fire rabbit I had no regrets choosing it as my starter for my sword playthrough)
Fighting: Gallade - I am a Gallade fanatic, what can I say.
*Sadly however I DID NOT download pokemon bank because when I played the 3DS I did not give a care in the world about spending money, nor did I have the money to buy it so bleach the Eevee will be leaving never to be seen again unless I catch another shiny Eevee in violet (Violet since I main on violet)*
Ghost: Hisuian Zoroark - I would have done this for normal but Eevee tops it. I just live the design, so many other people do, forgive me for being a biased person, but I am a fox person mate. I've always loved Zorua, its line, and its shinies
Poison: Sneasler - I am so ready for hate, but, no joke, I literally bought legends just for this mother ducker.
I love my robot babies I'm into cybercore and steampunk, fire me.
ones that I kinda hate
Ice: Glalie - I know I might get some hate for this one, but something about the design did not stick right with me.
Whoops:
Normal Fav: ok this is hard I have several contenders for this spot and my choice could change daily but for today i'll give it a pure normal type skitty just so I don't also choose Stufful lol. Skitty is so cute and if you only saw it for the first time it's design has so much potential. Normal Least fav: its lickitung. There are several others that could get this spot but this one is just also the grossest
Fire Fav: its pyroar, for all the same reasons as a stufful. I also have a pro feline bias. Fire Least fav: magmortar. I know theres a reason it looks the way it does, it doesn't make it less ugly. No other fire type is THIS ugly as close as some try to come
Fighting fav: I'm not a big fan of the fighting type but there are some nice ones.
Flying least fav: for the sake of giving cramorant a break the loser here is incarnate tornadus
Grass fav: a hard choice but todays winner is Appletun, silver goes to lurantis.
All the same issues as dugtrio but worse
Psychic Fav: Espurr. Its just do damn cute look at those vacant eyes. Psychic least fav: I have a few but who can really top Mr Mime?
Luvdisk is actually a good pokemon believe it or not
Well might as well do this too since it will likely be the last time I will get to share my favourite and least favourite Pokémon on this channel (Thanks for all the years of entertainment Toby). So my Favourite/Least Favourite Pokémon of each type are:
Bug: Beedrill / Wormadam Sandy Cloak
Dark: Houndoom /Alolan Persian
Dragon: Goodra / Baxcalibur
Electric: Ampharos /Pawmo
Fairy: Iron Valiant / Slurpuff
Fighting: Medicham / Crabominable
Fire: Flareon / Semisear
Flying: Corviknight / Flamigo
Ghost: Gengar / Spectrier
Grass: Venasaur / Sunflora
Ground: Marowak / Stunfisk
Ice: Articuno / Cryogonal
Normal: Miltank / Ambipom
Poison: Crobat / Swalot
Psychic: Gardevoir / Unown
Rock: Midnight form Lycanroc / Stonjourner
Steel: Hysuian Goodra / Klinklang
Water: Swanna / Pelipper
So admittedly weighed heavily toward the first three generations as favourites, taking up half of the slots, but otherwise fairly balanced between the gens. Although no Gen 4 Pokémon made it into my favourites list, while no Gen 1 Pokémon made the worst.
Good way to go about it. Going off the primary type is the way to go with a few expitons, Flying most flying types have it as there 2nd type soo if it's type one only it leaves you with
* Tornadus
* Noivern
* Cramorant
* Bombirdier
* Flamigo
The other expicon I think I would make to first types only are Vocarona And Reginal forms.
Ooh, fun. In this comment I'll be stating how I feel about your choices, in a later comment I'll actually look thru the dex and add my own
Grass fav: Sure. Least: And...u know what sure
Fire fav: Ok nice. Least: valid answer. I'd argue there are faaar worse, but yeah
Water fav: yeah pretty good. Least: I mean yeah
Electric fav: a typical answer for a good reason. Least: not even a contender. Like in a world of exploding balls the BIRD is what u vote least like wth
Normal fav: hell yes! Least: not my choice but I feel nothing about her either
Bug fav: meh. Least: yeah
Rock fav: it's cute. Least: YES, worst ever
Ice fav: um, no. Least: yes but how did the other get too lol
Poison fav: nah, saying it's fine is different from saying it's the best. Least: it IS weird
Flying fav: omg it's so weird how so many birds get booted out of the options so yeah. Least: yeah
Ground fav: if only it always looked like that. Least: yup
Fighting fav: I'm so glad u didn't say a different typical fav answer. THIS is good. Least: yeaaaaaah
Steel fav: yeah pretty good. Least: yeah it's boring but idk if it'll be my worst yet
Dark fav: I agree with wo chien but not so much guzzlord. Least: I didn't like it at first and I'd argue it's pre evo deserves this spot but it's alright. Not a worst contender the story helped showcase it well
Psychic fav: nah. Least: no! Dammit u leave those birds alone they're adorable
Ghost fav: yeah super basic do not agree. Least: yeah at least this is an agreement I'm a huge ghost fan so one of my favs being here wud have sucked. Good thing this is here instead lol
Fairy fav: nah to iron valiant. Togepi sure. Least: u know what YES. We're in exactly the same boat. Aromatisse is worse but yes lol
Dragon fav: meh.
Sneasler looks so much cooler by comparison.
is that all it takes for the kids to call you a genwunner these days? if you have to make a point of including *at least* one kanto mon in your least favorites to dodge the allegations, then i guess i'm a genwunner too
I absolutely despise the Tinkaton line. Just eww...
But Binacle and its line is my favorite rock Pokémon….
Baxcalibur is awesome
2 things about mabastiff 1. yes the other 2 dog pokemon are much better designed and 2 thank birdkeepertoby i also never really cared for the avren storyline and i wasn't emotionally attached either nor did i care for arvens design like i can see why people like him but he's just not my favorite
17:20 I agree 100%. I just don't get it. Tinkaton is just not that great and has a really lame shiny.
The only time I can think I’ve ever considered doing anything with Luvdisc, is getting it for an in game trade for Steelix in X and Y. You can actually get the in game trade before the 2nd gym.
I just realized that Trubish's teeth are a spork, and that makes it that much better
Nice video Toby. I’m looking foward to what the next video you have in store for.
I cant think of a single Gen 1 Pokémon that is not just... * luvdisc * good!
I would have to say that for myself (and yes, I am also only using the primary type in the combinations), my favourite and least favourites are:
Grass:
Bayleef > Ogerpon
Fire:
Combusken > Skeledirge
Water:
Kingler > Gorebyss
Electric:
Ampharos > Boltund
Normal:
Aipom > Audino
Fighting:
Hawlucha > Hitmontop
Flying:
Noivern > Cramorant
Poison:
Toxicroak > Okidogi
Ground:
Gliscor > Alolan Dugtrio
Psychic:
Gothorita > Oricorio
Rock:
Amaura > Binacle
Ice:
Jynx > Cetoddle
Bug:
Heracross > Wormadam
Dragon:

Dark:
Morgrem > Thievul
Steel:
Metang > Aggron
Fairy:
Floette > Enamorus Therian Forme
Don’t @ me with “You hate all the new Pokémon!”.. No I don’t, but it’s not my fault there are so many bad ones.
Pt 2 of pt 2:
Rock Fav: Lycanroc any form. Rock least fav: geodude any form. And barbaracle
Ice fav: Alolan ninetales predictably. Ice least fav: jynx just as predictably
Bug fav: Leavanny. I love the mantis pokemon alot and how they made them look buggy but also dapper. Bug least fav: paras. It knows what it did. Not only a meh pokemon but then became the zubat of legend arceus
Dragon fav: its the cotton goose of glory Altaria. Dragon least fav: the whole baxcalibur line. In addition to the base dragon being bad the fully grown dragon look somehow even more like godzilla than tyranitar. Mostly tho its how its animation works for its signature move
Ghost fav: in a category of utmost tops all vying for this spot Pumpkaboo ends up winning. So most other ghost types would be my honorable mentions. Ghost least fav: gastly. Its just the least interest ghost in the room
Dark fav: sableye. Its funny and creepy but also reminds me alot of stitch from lilo and stitch. Dark least fav: scrafty. I know theres a point but that doesn't make me like the design
Steel fav: cufant. I like copperajah too but cufant is too precious for words. Steel least fav: gholdengo. This damn string cheese abomination is my worst not just becuz I don't like its design, but also because of how much work and effort this thing makes you put in just to get it. AND now that sore spot is a result every time I look at a line up of ghost pokemon
Fairy fav: wow, turns out alot of fairy pokemon are secondary fairies.
Favourites:
Bug Volcarona
Grass Grovyle
Fire Chandelure
Water Ludicolo
Normal Obstagoon
Dark Zorua

Rock Solrock/ Lunatone (long story and its not Tate and Liza)
Bug Masquerain (dropped the water typing from Surskit)
Fairy Enamorus
Dragon Altaria i guess? (Should still have the fairy typing)
Grass Cherrim (its just there)
Fire (i badly want to put Charizard just because im sick and tired of seeing it) Male Salandit

Ground Galarian Yamask
Steel Current Mawile (It really needed its Mega)
Fighting Hitmontop
Psychic Gardevoir
Electric Plusle Minun
Ice Dewgong
Don't really have any others for the rest offf the top of my head
So does Toby know about the reference to a scene in an old Godzilla movie with the move Gale Rush? Just look up Godzilla drop kick and you'll see what I mean.
Nice Christmas Jumper Toby
I love brambelin but i think its type makes it much better than it should be in my eyes. Although, it would be 100 times better if it got an evelution like the tumbelweed gunslinger that MandJtv made.
*sharpens pitchfork lights torch* Alright I'm ready
It must be the earhair Toby, Delphox has way too much earhair
Swampert is definitely the best starter ever except Poplio.
, Blastoise, Swampert, Empoleon & Quaquaval are awesome and Primarina is very underrated
So sad that you're getting rid of the store.

Love this video birdkeeper Toby and all your videos are amazing and how come you stopped having ash voicing the the outro and you really love good in a beard.
Such a great feeling to find another person that doesn't like Tinkaton
As a lover of Ghost Types, there are exactly three Ghost Types that I just don't care about. And those just so happen to be Bramblin, Bramblegast, and Drifblim. I'd say Drifloon as well, but it's cute so it's allowed to exist on that premise alone.
Those are some hot takes.
My best and worst of each type would be:
Best Grass: Serperior
Worst Grass: Amoongus
Best Fire: Cinderace
Worst Fire: Incineroar
Best Water: Primarina
Worst Water: Bruxish
Best Electric: Ampharos/Luxray/Raichu
Worst Electric: Stunfisk/Pincurchin
Best Normal: Meloetta/Lopunny
Worst Normal: Dudunsparce
Best Bug: Pheromosa/Scizor
Worst Bug: Spidops
Best Rock: Diancie/Lycanroc
Worst Rock: Probopass/Klawf
Best Ice: Glaceon/Alolan Ninetales
Worst Ice: Crabominable
Best Poison: Sneasler/Naganadel
Worst Poison: Garbodor
Best Flying: Togekiss
Worst Flying: Enamorus
Best Ground: Flygon
Worst Ground: Diggersby
Best Fighting: Lucario
Worst Fighting: Bewear
Best Steel: Mawile/Tinkaton
Worst Steel: Klinklang
Best Dark: Meowscarada/Absol
Worst Dark: Skuntank/Overqwil
Best Psychic: Espeon/Mewtwo
Worst Psychic: Jynx
Best Ghost: Froslass/Ceruledge/Hisuian Zoroark
Worst Ghost: Bramblin/Jellicent
Best Fairy: Iron Valiant
Worst Fairy: Mr. Mime
Best Dragon: Latias
Worst Dragon: Dracovish
If the Spritzee line isnt in the worst category for fairy type i question your logic
Edit: I now severely question your logic
You may now question my logic too (I used Aromatisse on my team and it was very good)
BOOOOO! They can't make too many dog pokemon!
I like sneasler but I do wish it was more like weavile and had a better name 13:38
I think Hunter looks cooler than Ganger. Hunter is my favorite ghost Pokemon.
I used to be a Tinkaton hater I didn’t get it either but ive seen the light
Its a blacksnith dwarf who hoards metal from pokémon and looks all cute while being so unhinged and contrasting the hammer.
I love the witch theme in Delphox's design.
I was not ready for Tobey to say the Mabbostiff could just ☠️ really caught me off guard 😂
Really enjoyed your unhinged opinions
Toby, you and my daughter share the same favorite bug type pokemon. Very cool.
This is incredible XD
Our opinions of the Forces of nature are completely flipped!
I think the Incarnates are great, and the Therian's ruin them.
Amazing video! So many based choices especially picking Torterra 😌😌 this was also highly funny and I’m glad I’m not the only one that thinks Glave Rush looks a little silly lol
Alomomola is clearly not a Luvdisc evolution
Even if you were a Genwunner I'd be all on board with that, that's a good ass set of pokemon
The Mabosstiff Slander is devastating! 😂
I was genetally on board until Mabostiff. Them's fighting words, boy.
ahaha lolol
Damn, Toby's getting aggro now he doesn't have to worry about us
You were the first poketuber i came across, i was suprised to see a young adult still talking about pokemon. thanks for all the years and videos toby
I guess I'm in the minority here but I adore Meloetta's design and its cutscene in the gen 5 games and I wish they did even more with it
Ah why don't u like mabistiff? The fact he looks sad and ill after ue gets better is the point. Hes a sad looking Pokemon like a beagle or Bassett hound that makes you want to cheer him up and hug him
“None of your least favorites were from Gens 1 or 2.”
*chose Ledian as least favorite Bug type*
It’s ok, I too have forgotten that Ledian exists sometimes.
All evos of Hoenn starters are bangers. Probably favorite 9 of all the starters. And then they got megas and added even more personality. And this is unique independent personality. Not this all Sobbles are cry babies or all Totadiles are menaces to society with there chomps.
Baxcaliber is one of my top 5 pokemon since it's a homage to Godzilla.
I'll always love my Delphox, Todd
You should change the title because best/worst is very different from favorite/least favorite.
Toby picks chaos for the end of the year
Charon must be happy about this one, heh #TypeOrderMatters
Brioche frise. Know you messed up, but that's a great name imo.
Thought you were saying Cyndaquil was the worst for a hot second :O
Meloetta is one of my favourites, despite its downfalls
Mabostis is mid but it's pre-evolved makes me want to reenact old yeller.
Gotta say i agree with the tinkaton take - Ive never seen the hype. I get it looks deranged and crazy but aside from that i dont feel it
Shroodle look like they put its head on a turtle
Type based content? Always an easy win!
Chewtle is by far my least favourite water type and my least favourite overall
4:04 that's where I unclicked the video
This video has BIIIGG Tomska energy, and I am here for it!
