Anyone noticed at the beginning of the stage, even the words STAGE 2 START are reflected on the water? That beginning of the stage is damn beautiful. 😊
@@RickyHadou Come on man, don't be ridiculous. Outside of this, Streets of Rage, and Xeno Crisis, most Genesis games sound like shit. Compare the Ghoulsn' Ghosts games on Genesis and SNES - world of difference.
It really is. As a kid this theme made me think of ancient Greece, and I didn't even know much about ancient Greece at the time, but enough to knew it somehow sounded right.
I will be honest I've never played a Castlevania game in my life but I will never pass up a great soundtrack and so far I'm very impressed with every soundtrack from every game.
***** Cotm was very well received for the most part when it came out, since then though the creator of Castlevania has come out with his dislike and disownment of the game and now it's become 'non canon' because of his feelings toward it. I never got the hate for Cotm. Great music, very challenging at times. The art direction and attention to detail was incredibly impressive for an early GBA game.
Aria had the best gameplay and story, but CotM had the better atmosphere and soundtrack. Haven't played Dissonance yet so I can't really say how it compares.
This is a great theme. I really like how the arpeggios are panned to the right then suddenly pop up centered for emphasis. Oh, and those slides are absolutely fantastic! Not to mention how complex the melody is. Fascinating how much efforts were put into making the music for this game; no wonder they've returned to this theme over the course of the series.
It was all like a dream. I remember fighting scary monsters to this song and then Symphony Of The Night came out, and it was all Requiem Of the Gods. Then Circle Of The Moon came out after the millennium and my artful dream was complete!
My uncle gave me his SEGA Genesis in 1993--in retrospect I guess he was trying to get more focused, as he was becoming a doctor and getting married to my aunt. He had just two games with it: the original Sonic The Hedgehog, and Joe Montana Sports Talk Football. The former was a great intro to the console, and the latter actually helped teach me how football worked, and within a year I was an obsessed NFL/Dolphins fan. I've owned mine since then, but it went through many years of neglect. In the last year, I've fired it up again, and done lots of exploring of games I'd never heard of at the time...and I quickly realized that, if I had owned Castlevania: Bloodlines as a kid, it probably would have been in my top 5-10 video games of all-time. The genre doesn't do as much for me in my 30s, but the artwork, soundtrack, gameplay mechanics, etc. are all so great that I do enjoy it. The games I enjoy most now, so far in this "rediscovery" phase with my Genesis, are Castlevania Bloodlines & Bill Walsh College Football 95. Other games do one or two things well, or they provide a big nostalgia hit (like WWF Royal Rumble), but those two are all-around great games that hold up in all regards.
I like how the bass drops a little bit lower than it should be before going back up. It gives the feeling of sinking. The Circle of the Moon arrangement is great too, it also fits its location in that game.
This song is sinking deep into the sanctuary of my mind...forgotten like an old memory after some time passes but at the end still remember like it was yesterday whenever that pops up 😂❤😊
wow, being new to castlevania, i nvr realized that there's so much debating on scv4 music and bloodlines music. admittedly, i prefer scv4 and 2nd place isnt even bloodlines but this track is heavenly.this track reminds me of pillared corridors fr. scv4, mainly becoz both are absolute "painkillers".
This game is criminally underrated. Yeah, it's probably the hardest Castlevania game ever but is really fun and worth to play. It's one of my favorite Castlevania games.
wtf blud talking about lol this is by far one of the easiest classicvanias out there, castlevania 3 usa is MUCH harder, damn, even the jp version of castlevania 3 manages to be harder LMAO, this game just isn't easier than super castlevania iv tbh
@Chepito2846: I remember fighting the bird-like enemies in the Italy levels and was shocked to see them bleed, not to mention seeing the fountains in the France levels turn from water to blood.
Never played this Castlevania game, but after hearing this song for the first time in Art Tower of LoD and then hearing this one, I think I like this version better.
I love this game.I was hoping they would redo this for new game system...This game was add many wonder FX effects like the Stage 2 water section which was great for what they had to deal with very small memory space.
History fact: Salonika front,Greeks against Bulgarians in Entente side, not much historical to remind but Austria-Hungary’s declaration of war on Serbia on 28.July 1914 posed a critical dilemma for Greece is the point...
Idk if anyone knows this but this song was remixed in castlevania legacy of darkness for the n64 but I do prefer this version when I first played bloodlines in 2019 and heard this it blew me away to see this was the first version and it made me fall in love with this game even more than super castlevania 4
Great soundtrack, Yamane did a fantastic job with Bloodlines, you should note however that this is not what it sounds like on a real console. It's close, but this isn't the in-game cartridge tune. If it's an emulator rip, some emulators have audio filters.
If my knowledge is (somewhat) correct, the ruins of Atlantis is rumoured to be in the Aegean sea on the North African/Greek coast* (*Areas that are Disputed with Greece and the Republic of Turkey also fit in with said, coast)
It depends. If you've got a model 2 Genesis (I do), the quality is actually worse due to a hardware bug. Filter-less Kega Fusion nails it and sounds just like it should on the first model.
Reminds me of Lost Painting and Subterranean Hell, because all 3 tracks are composed by Michiru Yamane. A little on the funky side (mostly cause of the bass), but that's all good.
@JetFire0422 I appreciate commetns like yours. It really gave me that feel as well but did't it take place in spain? Either way I was mesmerized by this part in the game
Anyone noticed at the beginning of the stage, even the words STAGE 2 START are reflected on the water? That beginning of the stage is damn beautiful. 😊
Funny thing is, that's probably a graphical glitch they kept in either due to the restraints of the console or thinking it was cool.
Same happens when you pause the game, the PAUSE is also reflected. :D
Absolutely 🎉
I don't think that was intentional. Just hardware limitations and programming shenanigans
This version is just phenomenal, the sega genesis soundchip was a powerhouse.
interestingly, this game only used 4 sound channels of the Genesis/MD's 6 total and used no PSG
Indeed, sounds cosmic.
Genesis does what Nintendont 🤣

@Justin Major Yup, I've been using flixzone for months myself =)
out of the arrangements this is by far the best IMHO. I just like the synth feel the Genesis chip produces.
This soundtrack brings me back the good memories of Sega Genesis Castlevania, Thank you a lot .
Circle of the Moon and Legacy of Darkness Arrangements are amazing, too.
GustaveTheSteel How about the orchestral cover? I even tried to replicate this piece of music on my piano. I'm thinking of posting my piano cover.
Legacy of Darkness is the best Soundtrack & Game of the castlevania series
Legacy's is pretty good
Circle... bleh
Bloodlines > Circle Of The Moon

I hope by now you've atleast played Aria of Sorrow via emulation. Castlevania is so fun and yet challenging
This soundtrack and the forest of monsters from Super Castlevania 4 are masterpieces
And i not a big fan of Castlevania franchise
Almost a DECADE later, this video harvested NOT A SINGLE FUCKIN DISLIKE. That's some 1994 soundtrack glory for you.
5 months after a comment pointing out there are no dislikes and there are still no dislikes, it's a miracle
There.... i disliked it but only because I prefer the GBA version.
zfoxfire There's a special place in hell waiting for you where they play nothing but the Genesis version of this song on a loop.
of course there had to be a dope like you to dislike this glorious track.
zfoxfire Take it back pls.
Circle of The moon was great too!

Jarrecko The way I see it, CotM was pretty good for its day. Problem is, the games after it are just WAAAAAAY better.
+Nehfarius Nah, I still prefer CoTM over AoS and HoD. But I can see why people would prefer Aria.

I love Aria, but as a game I prefer COTM.

It amazes me how good this song is. I'd love to hear it redone in the next gen Castlevania. Bloodlines was cool, I miss the Genesis/SNES days :(
There's so much atmosphere in this song, I love it.
This song give's me Goosebumps. I love it!
The use of left / right is amazing. What a gift Michiru-sama is
This song is remade in circle of the moon!
This and successor of fate are probably the most atmospheric songs in the series.
It’s in Vampire Survivors, PEAK HAS RETURNED
finally we are getting a rerelease of this gem on nintendo switch and ps4
this might be my favorite song from any castlevania
Song fits the stage and atmosphere so well.
Best version! :)
this and SOTN had/has the best soundtrack hands down.
Both are composed by Michuru Yamane the Legend
