Travelled on this line many times in 1990 as a young recruit in the Royal Marines. Would’ve been nice to have stopped there once again 😝. Thanks for posting. Really enjoy your videos 👍
Thank you for this video, letting me know of the existence of this route. My dad used to live close by the railway station in Exmouth, and a couple of years ago, i was driving around Exeter in train simulator when my dad called. I said that i was driving a train near Exeter, and he immediately asked if Exmouth was also included. Unfortunally i had to tell him; no, but now i can say (and show him after the corona thing is done) that actually Exmouth is made into the game! So thanks a ton for this :D Ofcourse i immediately downloaded the route :D
Superb video as usual, thankyou. A route I am familiar with from holidays in the region. Also, inspire me to drive more in the cab & attempt to drive without the hud. Once again, many thanks.
Oh also, just a quick note, you may know the 2 request stops on this route which are Lympstone Commando and Exton and the departure boards have this symbol: (x). Just wanted to tell you that as I forgot to before
Fun Fact: Members of the public are allowed to get off at Lympstone Commando. Even though there are signs saying "Persons who slight here just only have business with the camp", the station is open to the public. The station is property of Network Rail so the Ministry of Defence can't prohibit people entering or leaving the station.
If this sim was very accurate you'd get a sore bum after sitting a few miles, and a cold draught from the ill fitting doors from the rattle-trap those pacers are 😁
Firstly, the AP sounds added to this unit have broken the brakes, I'm not sure why. Also, the signalling between Exeter Central and Exeter St Davids is wrong, in reality, the signal situated at the platform at Exeter Central should not change from a danger aspect until the other train has been cleared of the platforms at Exeter St Davids, but in the game it would change to a proceed aspect once the train has passed the signal just before the platform at Exeter St Davids, which is wrong and would most certainly cause SPADs due to the steep downhill gradient. Because of this, there is a two aspect signal at the end of the platforms at Exeter Central towards Exeter St Davids so it cannot display an amber aspect, so no trains can leave Exeter Central until a train has cleared the platform at Exeter St Davids.
Hi, can you teach me how to download this route? Since I want to drive the Exmouth to Paignton service and i don’t want to download all the other routes bec I don’t have much money.
Your knowledge of these routes is excellent. I've tried driving on train Sim without the HUD before but I usually don't stop for the stations in time. How long do you spend practising each route before making a video?
PLEASE NOTE: the railways of Devon and Cornwall route is discontinue due to the website is a old one unfortunatley you cant get this route because the website won't bring you there thank you for your attention!
Hi mate.great video. Finally you did the class 143 lol. And brakes where crap. But the video is great pal very good. I was thinking could you do a route covering south Yorkshire penistone line Sheffield to Huddersfield calling at meadowhall chapletown wombwell Barnsley dodworth Silkstone common penistone denbydale sheply stocksmoor brockhalls honley berry brow Lockwood and Huddersfield on class 153/142 would be perfect.give me your thoughts thanks
The presentation in your videos is very good. How about simulating the route between London Paddington(or somewhere), and Penzance? I’ve been on that route myself. It’s very scenic and includes southern Dartmoor, the Tamar Bridge and valley, Bodmin Moor and parts of the Cornish coastline
Unfortunately, only the route as far as Plymouth is currently simulated. Once the Penzance section is released, then rest assured I will be covering the full route from Paddington! :)
Two Questions PTG. 1. How do you create a custom simulation based on a real life timetabled service? 2. How to get that quality because i've got my graphics to maximum and yet it looks like TS2015. Also great video.
Hello there! I use www.realtimetrains.co.uk for the timetables. As for the graphical quality, I have all settings to maximum, TSX turned on, and the antialiasing setting to the 2x2 setting. :)
Dude, I have a request for you. Drive a Class 43 from London Paddington to Plymouth on the Western Mainlines South Devon extension. It took 5 hours to complete all of that section!
Question: When you said "standard westcode brake", does that mean you are referring to a company called westcode? Or is westcode a term for something with the brakes? Are their other companies that make brakes for UK trains too?
I noticed that this sounds just like the class142 and not the 143. The default class 143 sounds do not sound realistic but I prefer The engine idle sounds on the class 143.
Hi Pete, I was only on this Line (serveral times) back in May. I'm not on facebook any more mate, so can You PM me on here? Great Video as always.... Cheers Peter.
Hi John! It's great to hear from you! TH-cam are disabling private messages. Do you still have my phone number? If not, please email me at ptgrail@gmail.com
Exton and Lympstone Commando are the only stations on the line that are request. Geoff Marshall has one of his Request Stops Videos and Geoff and Vicki visited them on All The Stations.
Now I have watched this video I have spotted some mistakes with the Route. The signals in the topsham Area are all wrong. As you approach the bridge that the Railway passes over there should be a distant signal just before the bridge. The signal just before Topsham should be approach controlled Signal. As you pass over the points when leaving Topsham there should be a approach control signal there to. As you approach newcout station there should be a distant signal on the opposite side of the platform facing topsham Direction. As you go under the two bridges when approaching Poslo bridge station the second bridge has no supports. Poslo bridge station has the wrong model in TS in real life the station looks completely different. When you approach exeter st David's the last signal is supposed to be approach control signal. Thanks mate, glad you enjoy my videos :)
Most beautiful part of the country. Beautiful line, excellent train
(I love pacers lol), excellent video.
Just a note Phill, the guys in the orange high viz jackets are there to mark where 2 car trains should stop at St Davids. Excellent video as always.
Thank you for doing the Exmouth line because it's my local line and I like it
Thank you for this video, letting me know of the existence of this route.

Awesome! I hope you enjoy your attempts at driving without the HUD! :)
Great video mate, your train simulator videos are amazing 🙂👍🏻
Oh also, just a quick note, you may know the 2 request stops on this route which are Lympstone Commando and Exton and the departure boards have this symbol: (x). Just wanted to tell you that as I forgot to before
Great vid! Your videos are always very interesting and informative. Keep up the good work, and a like from me

I love this train. Nice video

Haha true! The route in real life is a little bouncy on a Pacer. Not as bad as it looks on Train Sim
The pacers are not that bad. In fact I love the pacers.
How do you get the sounds of the AP 142 pack to apply to the 143 ?? My 143's still have the bad quality sounds
great video, i liked the scenery but the route was laggy in parts and the 143 a handful. Well done
Great little video on a lovely route! I prefer driving a Class 150 along that branch line, as that Class 143 Pacer does my head in.
I also much prefer the 150. I only used the 143 as it was yet to appear in any of my videos! :)
PTGRail Not me I love pacers lol.

Awesome Upload :-)

Just one note for this video:
If anyone can explain to me why the brakes on this train are so broken, I'd love to know!
PTGRail could you make more TSW videos
I will do in the future :)
PTGRail Thank you. It would realy help me with the class 166:)
PTGRail It seems that there is a bug in DTG Class143 brakes. Sometimes the brakes can’t be released after a external camera.
I am not sure but I think the fault actually exists on the trains themselves, they CAN run out of reservoir air.
What is this game called? I wanna know please
So why didn't you stop at polsoe bridge and st James park ?
How do you manage to get the AP 142 sound son this loco?
PLEASE NOTE: the railways of Devon and Cornwall route is discontinue due to the website is a old one unfortunatley you cant get this route because the website won't bring you there thank you for your attention!
How do you get this onto train simulator and I have no idea how to do it?
Where is the modern route link please as it seems obsolete
The link is broken, loads up with a NOT FOUND screen? Any link that works instead?
If you just google "Railways of Devon and Cornwall" and a Vulcan productions link should come up.
Have you made a video on the freeware Tarka Line (Exeter to Barnstaple). It's a great freeware route.
How do you change the FOV for TS2018? Tried to follow a previous video but no joy. Thanks
Which video did you follow? I've got two different FOV tutorials.
PTGRail Thanks for the reply, I’ve managed to sort the problem
GWR policy is 15mph until the cab is out of the platform, if I remember correctly, so the start at Exmouth was quite sprightly, to say the least ;)
drenahmeti22 Do you have a source to state this?
South West Trainspotting Ask any GWR driver, I could put in a FOIA request for the driver policy, but go on a GWR train, and you’ll see what I mean!
I would have travelled at that speed had the route creator made it so on the HUD! :p
Where is lympstone commando
Great video, if there is a route from London Waterloo to Portsmouth Harbour via Basingstoke could you do it please?
With out the new SWR livery:)

That route doesn’t exist in Train Simulator or Train Sim World 2 yet.
that pacer looked like the original

I download this add on and the stations when I’m on the route doesn’t show. There is no platforms
Have you downloaded all the additional assets?
Are you using full graphics?
Nice =)
Dude, I have a request for you. Drive a Class 43 from London Paddington to Plymouth on the Western Mainlines South Devon extension. It took 5 hours to complete all of that section!
I'm considering covering a journey similar to that soon! :)
Those two stations that you didn’t stop at. They are request stops.
Lmaooooo I get off at digby every day for college
Omg that acctuallt looks just like our staition In exmouth
Question: When you said "standard westcode brake", does that mean you are referring to a company called westcode? Or is westcode a term for something with the brakes? Are their other companies that make brakes for UK trains too?
Take a look at this: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electro-pneumatic_brake_system_on_British_railway_trains#The_Next_Generation
Thanks.
Hi dude, what is your computer specification? Great video anyway! Good job...
Thanks! I'm currently running on an Intel Core i7 4790k 4ghz Processor with 16gb Kingston Hyper X DDR3 1833mhz RAM, and an Nvidia GTX 980 GPU.
PTGRail will you make another train guide video?
Think he's going to do the Class 460 guide at some point
I've certainly got plans to do so in the future! :)
if you press c in some trains that sounds the signal switch
Nice vid! Do you ever plan to do more Scottish routes? Anyway a like from me :)
Absolutely! My next Scottish video will be on the West Highland Line Extension. :)
PTGRail Yay! Can’t wait :)
I noticed that this sounds just like the class142 and not the 143. The default class 143 sounds do not sound realistic but I prefer The engine idle sounds on the class 143.
Please do Peterborough to King Cross or Peterborough to Horsham using Thameslink 700
TheGamer 700 not released yet
Random Stuff oh okay thanks
Peterborough to KX exists but the line to Horsham doesn't yet.
Peter is that you???
👌
Good old pacer lol

Plz do Crewe to Liverpool
Not available yet.
Oh I saw Alan Thompson’s vid but must have got early access
Maybe he used a freeware route?
It will be part freeware, my mate's Pete and Ash are making it. The route itself isn't available to everyone yet, just Alan doing videos on it.
