I think you take a chance wherever you buy your next campervan just go on your instincts, service history is good and reasons for seller wanting to sell. It is a minefield and I wish you all the best. They say buying your house is the most stressful but I would put buying your pride and joy the most stressful. All the best
When you have gone through all the niggles and expensive failures of your present van and finally arrived at a van you trust, to then have to start again is daunting. To find the energy and enthusiasm AGAIN, not to mention cost!
I think a honest person selling a motorhome would be willing to have it inspected before final deal is made and if they had a good service record that would be valuable also. You know Trevor to this day I find it hard to read a book as my concentration is not as good as before our accident and that was almost ten years ago. I personally think a hard impact accident shakes our brain up. It’s just my opinion but I use to read so much before. Good luck you two on finding the right home for you. Take care.

Because I have no recollection of the impact, I can't assess what my body went through, so I think it was just a bit of a shunt, but the more pictures I see of the van I begin to realise how much it must have shaken me, and the effect of that is beginning to manifest itself in my ability, or lack of, to retain information.
In my experience you will get a better deal privately. Just be careful and make sure the people selling are genuine. Dealers rip you off and they are often selling rubbish. You can buy a warranty separately even if you buy privately.
I tend to feel the same way Mari. I bought our van from a dealer and they were total rubbish. I bought a private warranty on a car many years ago, and everything that went wrong with it was outside the conditions of the warranty.🤔 It made me realise how clever people are at ripping us off.
Re your motorhome, you are fretting too much, nothing has happened yet. Looking and pricing up is fine to just give you an idea. Two of my near neighbours have purchased S/H ones this year privately for very good prices (both 12 plates). Season is getting on now, prices will get better with less demand.Hopefully insurance get their figures sorted very soon for you🤞Loving your chats ❤ x

Insurance company must give you something comparable to what you had. None of this was your fault and you shouldn’t have to compromise to get what you had back. Also, whether you go to a dealer or private, take it to a motor home inspector for a thorough once over. If the dealer or private party is legit, they will allow you to do this; they’ll balk only if they gave something to hide. Take care!
To be fair, the insurance Co did find a van on the open market at the value they put on my van, but most of what I find are three or four thousand more, and there are improvements I made to our van which need to be taken into account, so we are challenging the current assessment. I don't think I have the courage to take a prospective van to a third party, but I would take someone knowledgeable with me.

Duvets are popular because the cover is easy to wash and most home washing machines aren't big enough to hold blankets or quilts.

I have only heard of this. But there are some type of dealers that sell motor homes by consignment in the uk. I don’t know how you find them.
