We just followed your directions on your video, and my husband fixed the machine in 5 minutes. Thank you so much for saving us a ton of money on a washing machine repair guy. You are awesome!
Robert!!!! You're a lifesaver, was on the verge of buying a new washer when I found this video. Did exactly as you suggested and the tube was indeed unattached. Plugged it back in and the washer works perfectly again. Thank you, thank you thank you!!!
Great video! I love your candid and casual demeanor... it really helps someone like me not be overwhelmed and freaked out about "getting under the hood" and possibly electrocuted! And for those few weirdos who gave you a thumbs down, I offer them a different finger "up".
Robert, I wish I could shake your hand and thank you in person, my wife was washing clothes this morning and had a flood, wouldnt stop filling with water, lited up the control panel and it was Identical to what happened in your video, put the tube back on and its working perfect again. great video, and thanks a million!
Our 30-year old washer had stripped out agitator...So I found a kenmore on craigslist , looked like practically new. $20.00 , man said it would not cut off on fill and flooded his basement so he bought new one...After watching your vid , l bought it, got it home , unscrewed control panel and sure enough hose was unattached, so I reattached it , put an electrical wire tie on it for extra security...hooked up to water hose outside garage and ran it through cycle....Ran like new ...my wife is ecstatic !...Thanx so much !
LMBO ! I know, right ! Can't believe some people just too lazy to take a few minutes to explore some DIY on the web ! They rather throw away and buy new...that is crazy...even if you have that kind of $$$...thanx again !
Wife was complaining about the washer wouldn't quit filling with water and the agitator wouldn't start. I watched your video went down to the basement and sure enough the hose was pulled off. Thanks for the video, it saved me a lot of time and effort. My machine also agitates with the lid open but the wife said it has always did that.
Robert- I know you have had this video out for awhile, but I wanted to tell you my THANKS!! Everything you said was true. The only thing is I connected the hose, but my washer was still filling up with water, so I googled some more and found Bill Newberry's video that had the other success and that was to blow into the hose several times and then do what you said and connect it back. These two things: 1. Blowing into the clear hose and 2. Connecting the hose back like you said, worked like a charm. Thank you a million times.....
Thank you so much!! I recently bought a Kenmore 70 series from a guy/seller similar to yours (fixes and resells) it's been Way past my 30 day warranty so I checked your video and found out I had the same problem! Put the tube back on and... Voila!! It works 😊 thank you so much again!!!
Thanks!!!!! This was the first hit when I googled, "washing machine keeps filling". You even have exactly the same machine, except that mine is the 80 series with no rinse options. I opened it up like you said, hooked the hose back up, put it back together, and it works perfectly; took maybe 2 minutes. There is no appliance repair locally so we thought we were going to have to spend $400+ on a new machine. Thank you so much for sharing this, and for your detailed explanations!!!
Great video! My washing machine was filling with water to the point of overflowing and not going into agitate mode. I Googled for a solution and found your video, and what do you know, once I opened up the control panel, the clear hose was indeed disconnected from the wash size selector! Reconnected it and everything working fine again. I've never done this kind of repair before, thank you for the detailed step by step directions, you saved the day!
This is THE video I needed today! I had the whole machine opened up but when I saw this video with the tube popped off, Hark! The answer. You are a blessing my friend.
Thank you Robert for saving me at least $100 for a repairman or worst $500-$1,000 to buy a new washing machine. I did as you showed in your video and I was so proud of myself for fixing our washing machine.
Robert, you saved my day! I just came across this video and the tube disconnecting from the dial was my issue on my washer. I was going to call a repair personal but thought let me try what he is saying and sure it was. Thanks so much for these types of simple videos for dummies like me.
I don’t know if anyone else here said it but thank you so much for this video. I have a Series 500 and had be exact same issue. This video saved me a couple hundred bucks!!!!
Excellent video for a problem that foxes the user. A very simple and straightforward solution. Thank you Robert, it saved me from having to go in for a new washer. I have a 70 series Kenmore and its given me excellent service for about 10 years.
Thank you so much!!!! My washer wouldn't stop filling and looked up how to fix it. Your video came up and I watched it then went out to my garage and fixed my washer!!!!! I am on a tight budget and there would've been no way I could afford to have it fix. Thank you for this video!!!!
@@RobertDIY It was Exactly as you mentioned and and showed in this video. Mine overflowed and i didn't catch it until I had a quarter inch of water in my entire garage! The vacuum hose was off just as you showed; reattached and it's working fine! Thank You Thank You Thank You!
The hose to my washer wasn't disconnected, just a little loose. I reconnected the hose and made sure the clamp was tight. Now the washer works great. Thank you Robert.
Thanks for the video. I connect the vacuum tube back on and it works again. It's save me money and trouble from getting a new washer. Thanks you Robert.
absolutely love this channel and my washer kept filling up earlier and I started to go buy a new one I went to this channel and it was the vacuum hose I absolutely love this channel
Dude! Was about to buy a new washer till I watched your video. Fixed it in less than 10 minutes! You are the best! Turns out I have EXACTLY the same washer you were working on.
I have the exact same washer i bought from a guy that fixes them and sells them also a few months back and it wouldnt stop filling up with water.. watched your video and that tube was diconnected.. thanks man!you helped me out alot!!i appreciate it
Thanks, Robert. I have a Maytag... about 12 yrs old. I'm a single gal so it hasn't seen any heavy use. This just started happening recently.. where it won't stop filling. I cannot afford another washer at this time. I was so excited to find your video as I am pretty handy with minor repairs. I'll check it out and let you know!
I totally agree with Larry and everyone who says your a genius!! You saved me a lot of money, time and effort!! You rock!! GOD BLESS YOU FOR HELPING US OUT WITH YOUR VIDEO!! Made my own DIY video following your instructions but on a Kenmore different series... FIXED THE PROBLEM!! THANK YOU AGAIN!!!!
This video was extremely helpful. I had a problem with my washer overflowing. I called to schedule an appointment with a service technician. I came across this video and was able to correct the problem myself in only a few minutes. Needless to say, I could not get to the phone fast enough to cancel my appointment. lol
Ironic- I have a series 80 Kenmore washer (which is older than the one in video, like 23 years old now)- I have replaced the coupler on the motor at one time to keep it going- but this video saved the day !!! I had the same problem- couldn't believe it was something simple as a vacuum hose- it works now !! Thanks !!
Wow thank you so so much! I did exactly what you did with my husband's help and it sure enough was disconnected we connected it back and it started working again! I can't thank you enough! God bless you! Saved us a lot.
Thank you! That was the exact problem with my 80 series Kenmore. 5 minute fix. I did it myself while my husband was gone for the day. And it's working great!
Robert, I had the exact same problem with the hose being discontented on my Kenmore Series 90 washing machine. The hose was loose. The washer flooded our kitchen, utility room and bathroom. Thanks for the excellent video. Dwayne
Thanks so much for posting this. I was going to buy a new censor for my GE machine until I watched this video. My vacuum tube was plugged up with sludge near the bottom of my machine. I disconnected the tube and took a cue-tip and a hanger and cleaned it out and reconnected it and it is running smoothly like a new machine....Thanks So Much!
Thank you for the tip my wife is been working for 14 years and a laundromat and I started fixing the washers and dryers and I think everybody in for giving me tips I'm fixing the washers and dryers
Just watched your video...I had the same issue...my luck is that my model is exactly the same as you described. I unscrewed the top panel as you demonstrated, tilted the cover back, and the vacuum hose was hanging lose just like in your video. Great job explaining it. Just subscribed...and will be looking at all sort of videos on your channel. Thanks for help!
Nice, thanks for posting this. We had to replace our motor in our Maytag and when we assembled everything the washing machine would not stop filling and cycle wash. Somewhere in taking things apart, we appear to have disconnected this little hose. Comfort it was an easy fix!
I know you did say something about the washer agitating while the lid is open, that's actually how those older Kenmore/Whirlpool washers are designed, that switch will only stop the washer when it's in the spin cycle. It's not like a Maytag or Speed Queen where it will stop all operations when the lid is open.
Thank you for a helpful video. I am going to try it to see if it stops my machine from overfilling. I have an old Kenmore 80s series that I purchased new about eleven years ago. The lid switch broke about eighteen months ago, and I managed to fix it (it was an exhausting job for a small person who is not strong), but I began to worry then about how much longer the machine would last. The sales associate told me that the computer board is the most expensive part of these new machines, and if it fails the cost to repair it is prohibitive, so the best thing an owner can do at that point is to purchase another machine. I asked how long these new style computer run machines are likely to last, and I was told perhaps five years. Five years?! They expect us to pay hundreds of dollars for a machine with a life expectancy of only five years???? The government is responsible for these idiotic changes, and I think it stinks. It makes it very difficult for people on very limited and/or fixed incomes to afford to own a washing machine anymore. : (
Excellent video. I had the exact same malfunction-- though it was a failed pump after checking for clogs. Saved me a service call and we all know what those can lead to. Thank you!
Thanks Alot for the video Robert I have the same washer and it happened twice the first time I paid about $90 to get it fixed and I found your video and it worked, thanks Alot because I'm broke
ahhhhh, thank you so much, straight forward instruction.....i just fixed my washing machine, i placed an order for one and i just cancelled it. Thank you so much.
Duuuuude u helped me so much. I have been using timers and manually switching cycles. And i popped open the hood and low and behold, the little hose was out.
I can use your help. I have a Kenmore Model 110.24922200 90 Series washer. After completing one load of wash I started a second. The tub filled with water, agitated then stopped. No matter what setting I put it in nothing happens other then the water will fill. No humming, nothing. I did check the lid switch, it is good, I even jumped it to make sure. I also replaced the timer. Thank you, Joe Z
You obviously helped A Lot of people. My hose WAS disconnected, i connected it but it didn't fix my problem. It still won't stop filling and/or continue to the next cycle... Any suggestions?
Robert, Thanks so much! I thought I'd have to do alot more. You saved my day, and I got clean close! I probably jiggled the hose loose when I had to take off the washer shroud to lubricate the dried out grease in the motor and pump bearings with wd40. That was enough to get it all running again. It was seized. I sprayed wd40 in the stator as well cause it was dry too. everything looks like a sealed bearing, but this oil set in and did the job so far. I'm about 10 loads in. Thanks Bro!
Thank You Robert For A Great Video Which Can Be Very Helpful To Many With You As A Great instructor Thank You Again As This May Solve My Problem With My Washer
Thank you man!! I don't subscribe to channels but I'm subscribing to yours! That was exactly my problem. Very exciting. Thank you so much! I got the 80 series.
My level sensor tube unplugged itself. My machine also wouldn't run the spin cycle to drain the water for the repair. I re-plugged the tube, but it still wouldn't shut off the water, since there was already a high level of water in the sensor tube and it couldn't pressurize the tube to trip the sensor. I worked around this by blowing the water back down the tube into the tub, and then clamping the tube so it wouldn't refill. Plugged the tube back in with the clamp still attached and then released the clamp. That let enough pressure build in the tube to trip the shut off. After the tub was drained, I unplugged and re-plugged the tube to re-calibrate it to ambient pressure. All fixed up and running fine now!
THANK YOU!!!! Exact same problem and your video helped us solve it immediately. Sir, your kindness and smarts are most appreciated. You won a subscriber for life! : )

I looked at new washing machines at Sears last week, and they all have computer boards in them now that pretty much controls everything. The owner can no longer choose a load's water level, and there is no longer a warm water rinse option on any of the machines. I have been washing clothes for almost fifty years. I know how to choose a water level, and sometimes I want a warm water rinse, so I am not at all pleased about these changes.

I thought you wrote that it does agitate?
It won't do anything. Only the water fill cycle works. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks Bro!
Great info, thanks for sharing.

You are very welcome
This specific issue flooded my entire house. Can't believe such a simple issue could cost so much!
Ouch! It should have drained out. Was the drain clogged?
@@RobertDIY Looking back I think the drain hose height was too high. It overflowed the drum before exiting the drain hose.
thanks for the help Robert! saved my life!

Thank you Robert. When I opened up the top on my whirlpool and saw the vacuum tube disconnected I was happy.
Easy is always better. ;)
Thank you so much you explained this very well and fixed my problem in about five minutes!
Good deal.
Good deal. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you Robert! Worked great.
