@garful i didn't hear about this, man that sucks, is there somewhere i can read about this or a video or something? I want to learn more about this, like why did he get fired out selling nft?
I loved how quick thinking and even quicker actions helped end the terrible campaign of “that guy.” I also respect ops decision not to burden the original dm with potential feelings of guilt and remorse for situations that were clearly unintentional and beyond control.
Paladin deserved much worse than he got, but props to op for considering the feelings of their original dm and keeping them away from the mess that thing made of his world.
Nah, honestly, they hit him where it hurt the most. The guy wanted himself to be the center of attention, and what they did is the biggest "We don't give a damn" they could give him. They use his own rules to basically "destroy" his power fantasy world, and then just completely ignore him forever after that. For someone who seemingly craves attention and validation like that guy did, being left high and dry, and utterly ignored afterwards, must be the biggest blow possible.
If this is the same story I think it is. The Paladin not only lost his accounts on roll20 and his fanfic site but also was cyber bullied into inaction when he tried to start over.
I love how it turned out. and honestly the group itself seemed worth fighting for, so I would have stuck it out. Also, a fucking stoner cleric, I love the idea.
Taking inspiration from anime or other media isn't bad imo. Just don't straight out rip it off and don't make it railroady. Honestly playing in an Overlord or That Time I got Reincarnated as a Slime inspired campaign would be interesting if done well
@@marcusreading3783 I can see an Overlord DnD campaign with the player character(s) traveling the New World in order to find an item that have can force any Yggdrasil Players, Items, and NPCs back to their own reality. While Nazarick or the the 8 Greed Kings trying to stop them.
It can be tempting to wanna be the center of attention, but as a DM, you have a responsibility to your players to give them the experience they deserve.
I wouldn't have put up with that narcissistic, controlling, antisocial behaviour for even half a year. If the group didn't realise what a toxic person that was then I would have looked for a new group that didn't acquiese to such a toxic person.
First off, i couldn't do 2 years without having something else to do in the meantime to keep myself sane. Second, i think its ok to do an anime like INSPIRED, world pulling a little from multiple shows, but blends well. Never rip it off of one anime However, i made an exception with one group because they were a group of my friends who loved to joke around. So i made a "Konosuba" type world. Where the players purposefully made satire characters. A mage who has spells had a side effect of exploding everytime. Even if its just a spell like telekinesis. (She wouldnt take damage from it because she was an optimist) The others had to stay clear because they would. A tank paladin whos defense was so good, but did close to no damage but loved to taunt enemies and used himself as cannon fodder. Or have the others use his head like a battery ram. (Like that scene in toy story 2) A healer who could only heal you by throwing her staff like a javelin pole right at your face. Which would cause you to be healed but do minor aoe heal to your teammates after they bursted out laughing in game and irl. (Because laughter is the best medicine) A swordsman, who had like 50 swords he kept in hammer space and he used them once and threw them away immediately. (He didnt realize a sword could be use more than once, and treated them as if they were single use items) And a character i made but let someone else used because he loved the role play potential. A bard who had high strength and a negative Charisma bonus. (His lute was made of rock and couldnt understand why the strings kept breaking, even though he had sharp claws.) He his character would get mad and use it like a mace and hit enemies doing insane amounts of damage. (He became the glass cannon of the group) A game filled with laughter and no real narrative, just a world they loved to explore. Taking random jobs and just bonding.
@@curabletoxin I might need the name of that mage because I MIGHT straight rip that entirely because it sounds too goddamn funny to not use as an NPC. @Rebellions also I realized I said the mage would take damage everytime during my previous replies. I meant to say the nearby party. She couldn't KO them and when the fight was over, the players who got hurt can beat up the mage to get their lost health from the explosion back. (The mage doesn't lose health from the beat up which made it more funny, but they felt all the pain due to a ring I gave them) I was thinking of another mage build that was slightly different so that's why I said the mage would take damage from the explosion
6:19 I get it like we all want to have a bit of a connection with the party, an if he had chosen his timing carefully a few of the things he did might even of been acceptable like for example the "bonds of friendship" bit thats a alright bit to of inserted but trying to be a mentor when your all the same level or threatening the rogues contacts that aint on, like he is a defo spotlight hog, I dont know if he was informed at any point of what he was doing but it does sound like either he lacked awareness or was just ignoring the fact he was being a spotlight hog, to anyone thinking of trying to work your way into different plothooks of other characters consider at the session 0 discussing options & opportunities that could potentially arise for you to be able to have a bit of cross discussion in game so that you can feel more connected to the party dont just take it upon yourself to decide when as that will become problematic
Read this one from Reddit & ZOMG is this the epitome of a Problem Player & Problem DM in one. UNBEARABLE. Package! But I think this one is the story with the smartest & greatest use of Divine Intervention; something akin to JoJo
_This_ is how you write a story. I can just imagine that neckbeard squealing like a pig when his source of stolen story material got cut off and his gross fanfic got taken down. If you decide it's possible to "win" at D&D, it's also possible to lose at D&D, and that guy lost hard.
I did NOT expect a different voice lol
Me neither, but it is a pleasant voice.
Milo is no longer the voice. Probably due to being an NFT bro.
