- Watch this sweet moment between a dog and his doctor. Meesha needed a few hugs and kisses to calm her down as she recovered from anesthesia after being spayed. She was scared and disoriented because her body felt so weird. The precious pooch was just adopted by this family hoping to give her a better life. Meesha was surrendered to the BARCS Animal Shelter with her brother, Charlie, when they were six-weeks old. They came from an unwanted and unexpected litter of puppies. #InsideEdition

People need to realize that animals have emotions just like Humans
And sometimes Animals need a calming reassuring voice, pet and hug or kiss to help calm them down.
That's why when I first meet dogs or any other animal I try to speak with a calm tone and do not move around with any fast movements. Because If I don't Then the Animal can become
Over-excited/Over-stimulated, Nervous, Scared/Fearful.
And that can lead to unwanted Behaviors.

This reminds me of my mom.
My mom goes on about how she can’t stand our dog but I know she loves her. Case and point: when our dog had to get most of her teeth removed she was in a lot of pain (we could only give her a certain dose of painkillers at certain times), and my mom did with her what she had done with me and my other siblings when we were just toddlers and in a lot of pain... she wrapped her up in a blanket and held her close while she stood in front of the glass back door, trying to show her the outside world and distract her from the pain.
It's the universal way to make anyone feel better😊

My friend's grandmother screamed bloody hell when she brought a stray dachshund home. The next morning grandma was holding an umbrella over him on a rainy day in the yard during a pee walk.

I was thinking the same thing, they gave the puppy away where the puppy could get a home to care for it. Very responsible.

My toxic mother used to always take in cats that she didn't spay to end up throwing them out and it keeps me awake at night
@@nantae1047 probably didn't have the money or didn't want to pay for the surgery. Regardless, still better they gave the puppy to another place to take care of instead of throwing it out etc.

I think this video shows why the vast majority of vets do what they do, it’s not money but love.
Being a vet has to be one of the most rewarding proffesions ever. You get to spend your days surrounded by adorable animals and you get to save them.
It has to be! I’ve thought about becoming a vet tech when I retire just so I can help the little critters a couple days a week at a shelter or humane society, etc. I think it would be a fun retirement job that’s not so much like “work”.
It’s so great but also there is ALOT of sad moments that can be really hard.
It's not just tiny people that love high voiced baby talk! My pets always responded to it best, cradling, rocking, patting, even pretend burping a cat were all appreciated in my home! The adult people who saw me do it laughed at me of course, but my special bond with my kitties was wonderful. So kudos to any vet who shows abiding love for animals in this way.
You may be misunderstanding the laughs. My daughter does the same with her animals and I laugh with joy, partly because I raised such a caring child and secondly out of happiness that the animals seem so content and happy. Who wouldn't smile and laugh for joy?

SPAY AND NEUTER YOUR PETS.
Thats why most shelters already spay or neuter whoever comes in or force the adoptees to sign an agreement that they will spay/neuter their pet at the shelter before taking the pet home
I don’t spay or neuter, instead I take necessary precautions so it won’t happen
@@radioactivewolfe You really should (or just don't have animals). It's also healthier for them physically (i.e. lower rates of cancer, greater longevity) and mentally/behaviorally. Please spay and neuter.
@@radioactivewolfe even with precautions, dogs will get weird and upset around breeding season, and you never know when they could escape the house. It's just better in general
I always get worried about spaying/neutering my pets because I fear they might be upset with me afterwards and I don’t want them to feel like I did something wrong…

Sadly, and I know this from experience, a hug and a kiss from the Vet doesn't always work. Its not a perfect world and some animals have to be helped to pass from this world. Hopefully it happens in a calm, quiet environment with a quiet voice in their ears as they go.

My vet is wonderful also. When one of my babies has to cross The Rainbow Bridge she comes to my house and gives them the injection so I can hold them. I never want them to be alone, or go on a hard, cold, metal table. I have done it this way for nearly 30 years. God Bless Dr Catona!
They should have adopted the brother too... You just do not separate dogs like this!
Using this logic would mean that every time you wanted to adopt, you would have to adopt the whole litter that's 1-14 puppies...

Sometimes you have no choice. The family probably didn't want a second dog, but it's said that her brother was adopted by another family as well.
doing that is actually common but you should do it before 6 weeks of age because any longer and they start to remember their family after being taken away

That is such a beautiful heartfelt moment. My vet is exactly the same as this gentleman. I first went to her on an emergency basis for my pet rat who unfortunately had cancer and had to be euthanized. Then she became my vet for my dashound and my newest additions, two new pet rats. She is an amazing vet and I'm very fortunate to have found her. 😁🐁🐁🐶

Aww dogs need that. Especially when we do that to them, it’s actually horrible when you think about it, but it’s what it is. Some wild animals will lose trust after a procedure like that.

I had a feral cat spayed, and when she came home she was in a lot of pain. She sat up, looked at her tummy, and lifted her head and cried like she knew she would never have children. It was so heart wrenching. Poor little thing. The price of a better life.

I did the same thing when a girl dropped her puppy Pomeranian and it started crying from pain (keep in mind, she hit her head on concrete) so I comforted her and did the same thing the vet did

@@starandfox601 ALWAYS spay and neuter. Most rescues won't split bonded pairs because of the emotional trauma to the animal. Not sure why they were unfixed animals.
