      If you're applying to top universities, you might want to have a good GRE score to alleviate the effect of your undergrad cgpa. But many colleges will weigh your master's cgpa higher than your bachelor's so it's not *necessary* for you to take the GRE.

    • @SachinPullil150
      @SachinPullil150  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Scholarships are never considered solely on one factor. GPA, GRE, projects, volunteering, SOP, etc., all play a part in the selection process. Since you have a high CGPA, and if the GRE is waived by a scholarship, then you don't need to take it because you've proven your academic capabilities.

    Dear Sachin,
    Thank you so much for your very informative videos. I really wanna take the GRE for fall 2022. But I am currently working. So it’s kind of difficult for me to study for it while working as I want to aim for a very high score. I have decided to quit my job to solely focus on GRE. Would you say if it’s a wrong decision? I would admire your opinion. Thank you.
    I have been working for 1.5 years and got a gpa of 3.5+. I have one research paper (not published)

    • @SachinPullil150
      @SachinPullil150  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Probably not a great decision since the GRE isn't a very study-heavy exam. Unless you really dislike your job, or it has long hours, or want to do something else (intern, research, volunteer) along with GRE prep, it isn't necessary to prep for the exam full-time. Just 1-2 hours of prep a day for a few months will suffice.

    Hi brother, Informative video. I have CGPA of 9.25/10, and I fall in the top 10% of the batch of 126 students, I have taken the GRE and have 300. Should I take GRE once more or is this score enough?

    • @SachinPullil150
      @SachinPullil150  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you're planning on submitting your score, then yes you should retake the exam. A 300 puts you at around 50%th percentile of test takers while your GPA puts you at 90% percentile in your class, so there's a big difference there.

    • @SachinPullil150
      @SachinPullil150  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The GRE is one element of a scholarship application, but of course not the basis of the entire decision. Also, now that universities are waiving the GRE, it's likely that scholarship programs may make it optional too.
