Interesting video. I tend to collect knives so I have a bunch from tacticool to case and aside from a few that are strictly for display IE one signed by Charles Buck I bought online has an imitation pearl handle. I really base my carry off what I feel like carrying that day or what plans I have IE if I'm going hiking I'm gonna carry a knife appropriate for wilderness uses or going to a fancy restaurant I'll carry a tiny pocket knife more decorative even though I probably won't use it, it just adds to the style
My first EDC knife was the Zero Tolerance 0350TS. It's beefy as hell, keeps a decent edge, and definitely has some weight to it. My next (and current) EDC knife is the Spyderco PM2. I love both of these knives and have carried both at varying times. The Spyderco sharpens easier and I can get a better edge on it, vs. the ZT. But I still love my ZT.
Great stuff as always Tim! I think the the locking style as well as the locking/non-locking are important factors. Some people just don't like liner/frame locks because of the getting fingers in front of the blade to unlock. Also the blade profile, some blade profiles are kind of specialized and not versatile for an EDC blade. I had an Emerson that in addition to being beastly heavy had a really pronounced belly that I felt made it less practical for EDC as well as harder to sharpen. Lately my EDC has been Milwaukee Fastback. If I go to a 'no-knife' environment I just can throw away the blade. Realistically for most EDC tasks, the utility razor blade is just fine. When I am wanting to feel more dressed up it is my Bokar or a Civivi. or a classic Case with a bone handle.
My carry option revolves around skeletool CX in 154CM + a tops fixed blade (CUT 4.0 or street scalpel 2.0) for many years now. I'm somehow never got into carrying a dedicated folder on me. This combo + a Victorinox rambler, a flashlight and a lighter have been good enough for my urban EDC.
@@iyn1911 LOL pocket knives are subjective and personal preference. There is no such thing as best or one that everyone should carry. It's like wearing a hat, everyone's going to pick something that works best for them.
This video should be required watching...love it👌
No it shouldn't.
Thanks man, and I guess not everyone agrees (see comment lol)
My EDC knife is a Victorinox tinker with translucent blue scales which I carry in a Victorinox belt pouch.
Nice - any kind of SAK is a win in my world.
I love my Spydercos and German made Bökers
Nice!
I carry a Olight Oticle U box cutter and a Gerber Suspension multi-tool, and I use both all the time all day 😉🤙🤙🤙
Swiss Army Camper and, depending on the day’s activities, CS Grik, CS Voyager, or a (much modified) Kizer Baby.
Nice!
Thanks for watching and links are below if that’s helpful!
I completely agree with you...... here in Brazil!!
Excellent. Thanks!
My first knife was a cold steel Voyager almost 30 years ago still have that puppy today and it's badass.
Beast of a blade!

I only have a few ZT’s, but I love them

That is a great idea, Kevin. So simple just to toss away that blade and not lose the whole thing.
I rarely carry a folder. Usually a small fixed blade l, flashlight,& small med kit

Nice, and yeah for some the fixed blade is the way to go. I've got a fixed blade EDC video coming soon!
When you mentioned scary knives, I was hoping you'd SHOW a few! Maybe I NEED a little 'edginess' in my life.

@@EverydayTacticalVids Thanks for the solid, Tim. 👍
Gee thanks. My life is now incomplete without a Kershaw Launch 4. You were supposed to help me save money!
Gah! 😩 my bad.
Nice and informative 👍
Thanks 🙂
In your opinion, which of these knives you show here would be the closest to the Ontario RAT2 in D2 Steel?
Love the Rat 2. I'd probably say the Lander or the ESEE Zancudo.
Griptilian all the way!! I have that exact model.
Nice. My favorite.
Glad to see you’re back to the how-to videos
Thanks Christopher.
Benchmade Bug Out
I think AutoCorrect got you :-)
