Have you tried cracked corn as a ground bait yet? I used it last weekend with great success. All I do is fill a bucket half way then cover with boiling water till the corn is under the water about 4 inches and put the lid on. The cracked corn expands. I let it sit in the water 24-72 hours. If you leave it in too long it rots.

*Rule No1 when fishing corn.* _Don't put in too much._ If it's not eaten, it'll go off and taint the water and the fish will keep clear of that area till mother nature's little microbes come along and remove it.

I stopped fishing some 15 years ago now due to ill health but even when I was carp fishing and had a tin of sweetcorn, I'd always buy the smallest tin and even then, I doubt if I ever used more than 3/4'ers of one in 24 hours of fishing. I knew what sweetcorn could do to a swim some 45+ years ago. It doesn't breakdown in water. Just goes bad. Put some in a jar of water and leave it for a few days outside and you'll see. 👍

to have a perfect hooked effect, try adding a soft part of line to the end. in practice I recommend using 10/15 cm of rigid nylon (18/25 lb) + 2/3 cm of braided line (20/25 lb) to which you will tie the hook with the bait. You will see that the last piece of soft line will rotate perfectly inside the carp's mouth producing a very good hook. If you want you can find many tutorials on yt to do this rig. It's called a combi-rig with an albright knot. If you want, in my videos you can see how I always use that rig. As always, wonderful images, congrats!!!! 👏👏👏

Here in Australia Carp are a menace. We fish them out to destroy them. The easiest way is a running sinker with a long leader, a gama shiner hook with 4 or so corn kernels. I catch 20 or so in a couple of hours.

Definitely because of the visabilaty(!!!) of the gnocchi the carp are very interested. But it also shows your rig doesn't work. To many times they take it and are able to spit it out, even when they are tearing the lead with them !!! You could have hooked many more, but your rig is just shit. And one more thing. I would like to see how big fish react to the gnocchi. These were all small carp, max maybe 5 kg. ⬇️

My rig is really not good.😅 When editing the video, I can see that the bait is spat out many times more than shown, and even when I catch multiple carp each time, the hook often comes out of their mouths and they escape. I'm not good at setting up rigs as well as everyone else. The appearance of big fish depends on luck, so I will do my best to catch bigger fish!

The only advice I can give you is to make your rig so that the distance between hook and hookbait, in this case your gnocchi, is longer, say 1, maybe 2 cm. Better 2 cm because the gnocchi are quite big. And use a bigger hook. Don't be afraid to take a size 2. For hooking also a heavier lead helps a lot. My minimum is always 80 gr., even when I'm fishing almost under the rodtip. Greetings and tight lines 🎣 from the Čech Republic 🇳🇱🇨🇿.

Thank you for watching and commenting. Not at all! In fact, I think it could be even a bit bigger. The RAPALA CDE35 is very easy to use and catches fish well, but its lip breaks easily, so you have to be careful about where you use it.

Corn kills fish , they can't digest it. This fact has been known for years and many states have outlawed the use of corn for.bait or chum. It's absolutely terrible for the fish and ecosystem.
